Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Amarillo I-40 West, TX

The location is very close to I-40, convenient access. The outside of the facility is clean and welcoming. As you enter into the lobby, I was greeted with smiles. The room smelled clean and it's larger than average hotels. The swimming pool and jacuzzi is huge! I put this as one of my favorites. We will most definitely stay here again!

Breakfast was just average. I would've liked to have more selections other than scrambled eggs, sausage links, and potatoes. Yes, there's yogurt, dry cereal, juice, coffee, and waffle maker. Some items be nice to include: Biscuits and gravy, assortment of pastries, energy bars, flour tortillas, more fruit.

Noon check out time is wonderful. Most other hotels have you leave by 10 or 11 am. The swimming pool was great and the room was nice and comfortable. The pool is not just a plain rectangle but shaped like a peanut. There are dolphin mosaics on the bottom of the deep end section and the pool is nice and big enough to swim laps. Would also be a great place to play for kids. There are quite a few restaurants close to the hotel and I ended up eating at Lin's Grand Buffet across the street. It's a huge Chinese restaurant and you pay as you walk in. The buffet has just about everything imaginable for $16. Quite the treat. Also don't miss out going to the Botanical Garden. It's only a 5 minute drive away from the hotel. It is small but so lovingly done, it was a joy to visit. Takes only 30 minutes to see most everything but I also enjoyed just sitting in the shade on one of the many benches that you can find around the garden.

This is my pet peeve. I don't like the single use plastic for shampoo and conditioner and small bars of soap that end up in the trash after a one day use. I would prefer refillable wall mounted containers for this. Otherwise, no complaints.

The breakfast was particularly good with the eggs, potatoes, and bacon actually hot which is a rarity at hotels! I loved the size of our room and the very attractive furniture in it. The location was handy for us in terms of proximity to highways and restaurants. It didn't benefit us but the noon check-out time might be beneficial for some travelers.

On entering our room, we noticed the light in the hallway/by the microwave wasn't working. A few minutes later, we notified the hotel clerk of it and asked that it be fixed. When we returned from dinner an hour later, I asked her if it had been fixed and was told yes. We went back to our room and saw in fact that the light had NOT been fixed. A while later, we received a phone call saying the light couldn't be fixed without explaining the earlier statement it had been!

Manager was nice when I called him on his cellphone. Front desk help were indifferent to complaints I had about room. Manager refunded payment and we left hotel 15 min. after we arrived. Booked a second hotel that was a much better hotel.

We are older and did not plan on going out once in the hotel. The TV channels were limited plus you could not adjust TV to see it from the bed or even from the sofa. The hotel had the TV locked with a pad lock in one position when I ask to unlock it I was advised that due to damage by young people during spring break that they could not unlock TV. If that were they case why rent to anyone as they may cause damage also.

I was wrll pleased with the room and a great value for a last minute reservation. The room was clean and laid out. The breakfast options worked with my meal plan. I really liked how well lit the parking lot is. That help me to feel safer coming and going to my car at night.

Road access was somewhat confusing for me, especially since I was arriving at night. I suggest making more and easier access to bedside outets. I use a cpap and moving the nightstand to be able to plug is in inconvenient. This was tagged an accessible room. The current outlet configuration would be much more challenging for those with mobility/flexibility/strength issues.

The hotel is a nice clean facility. They have a contactless checkout that I used. It's nice as it saves some time if there are a lot of checkouts. Breakfasts were always good and the meal was a hot breakfast. This is a plus in my books. Wifi speed was fantastic.

There was a fair amount of wind during my stay and I found that there was a whistling noise coming where the window seal did not connect properly with the frame. I fixed that by inserting a tissue between the edge of the window and the frame. This put pressure on the window against the frame and eliminated the whistling.

Rooms spacious and very clean. a lot of attention to cleanliness throughout.

Kitchen needs attention. Only one waffle maker for this large facility. It broke down 2x over 5 days. Coffee machine broke down once. They could buy a second waffle maker, maybe two, and place those on one end of the counter and place the self server banquet container at the other end. These are currently side by side and cause a real flow problem. Basically there is no flow so it is very inefficient. Pool, indoor, was extremely cold. I mentioned this and the next day it was warm.

This was our first stop on a very long road trip. It was very nice and comfortable in all respects. We weren't looking for more than a place to stop and more than met our needs. The room was well appointed and the staff were were very pleasant and helpful. The proximity to the highways was very helpful for us.

Not having some sort of a restaurant on site left us with a bit of a walk to get to anything for dinner We could have driven to a near-by restaurant, but had a very loaded, somewhat low-riding car-deck arrangment.

Large room with two TVs, spacious pool, and the largest hot tub we've ever been in. Breakfast had a good variety, but the small sized area made for crowded conditions and lines during peak periods (get a second waffle maker please!). The lady attendant in the breakfast room has to be the hardest worker we've ever seen (she moved on to cleaning rooms after the bfast hours ended).

Refridgerator had no freezer compartment and missing slot holders on the inside of the door.

Very good value for money the hotel is well located the breakfast is varied with hot, fruit, dairy products... the swimming pool is open in winter

The staff on arrival was quite nonchalant, as was the person who takes care of the breakfast, it's a shame to deal with people who do not seem appreciated to be there We also received a call from reception saying we would be too loud. We are a family with two young children and on the way up from breakfast our daughter pinched her finger at a handle that was broken in the elevator, she cried for 5 minutes so yes it made noise, the call received was very unpleasant and put us in question. Hotels can accommodate children, a baby, a child can cry and this generates noise, be aware...
