SOVA Micro-Room & Social Hotel

I never stayed in such a micro room but it was everything I needed because I was away the whole day. It is really a bed and shower. Toilet was luxuary with heated seating and water "cleaning"

Everybody in the reviews says it is clean, but not in my case. There was dust under the bed and even a plastic cover of something from the previous guest. Also, the sheets had a lot of stains. They were fresh but did see some use and should not be used anymore

The room was small but cosy, and the air conditioner had its work cut out for it given the humidity and heat at the time of year I travelled but it did the job! The room had everything I needed to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The location was good - a reasonable walking distance to most attractions and there was plenty nearby to keep me entertained during my stay. Staff were also super friendly and helpful, and were able to assist me every time I needed help with something, like borrowing a clothes steamer or an iDevice charger (absolute MVPs, thank you!). I really enjoyed the reception desk bar and lobby space, it's such a fun concept! I found the hidden speakeasy, but unfortunately didn't stay on days where it was open - maybe next time! Another unexpected feature that brought a little joy - the Japanese style toilet! A heated seat sure isn't needed in Dallas summer, but nice to know it's there!

The duvet cover and pillow cases in my room had definitely seen better days - one pillow cover on my bed was completely shredded on one side so I didn't use it. Otherwise, no complaints!

Negatives - Room was a little claustrophobic without a window and very little space for 2 of us to unpack anything. To use the toilet at night you had to turn all lights on as there wasnt a seperate light just for the bathroom which was not great for the other person sleeping as it disturbed them. This property was ideal for someone just doing a quick stopover with little baggage and travelling solo. I would use again in future though as i know what to expect, it was good value for the price. Positives- Good location, value for money

It does say micro room, which we were expecting. Just make sure you know the person who you are rooming with very well. It has everything you need, great valve for what you get and the location in Dallas is good. We visited the Book Depositary and the Farmer's Market, great for food. The Crafty Irishman pub was great. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The toilet has many functions including different colour lights and a warm seat. Staff were super helpful.

It did not state when booking that there are no windows, which would have been nice to know before we arrived. You will hear people showering above you but we were awake so not a big deal to us.

The location is perfect. The bed is very comfortable. The heated toilet seat and bidet (didn't use the bidet) is a nice touch. Whether you're seeing the city or staying in to relax, the room is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple that REALLY like each other. I mean.. it does say MICRO right!? 🤷🏽‍♀️😂 Also, please ignore the hanging curtain in the pic. Sometimes I don't know my own strength!🤦🏽‍♀️😬

The only minor complaint I have is there's nowhere to put things. There's ample storage under the bed for luggage but it would be nice to have a side table or shelf to keep things like my phone, glasses, water bottle, etc. I used the floor but I'd rather not. #FirstWorldProblems I KNOW!! 😂

SOVA was great! I didn't realize that they have a bar/coffee counter in the lobby and the coffee was EXCELLENT! I got my morning cold brew there every day of my stay and I found out that lavender in coffee is super good! I also got some of the best sleep ever. I went out with friends and came back to the hotel and crashed out for like 10 hours....HEAVEN...as someone who averages 5 hours a night I really needed that little boost

The only downside of the whole experience was that half the bathroom got wet when I took a shower...but after the first day, I just made a note of it and left my shoes and towel right outside of the bathroom so it was fine :)

The rooms are - indeed - very small and without windows, BUT it goes with a great quiet and supercomfy bedding. To be sure, this is a great place if you only mean your room to be a place for resting and spend the rest of your time outside. No place for sitting and working, for instance, but the hall of the hotel is very welcoming and quite calm during the day if you need a spot for that. Some great places for food on a ten minute walk with the Farmers Market and Deep Ellum.

Not too far from the main areas. My colleagues were staying at the Statler which was much more expensive and only a couple of blocks away. Room was bigger than expected.... I was half expecting a Japanese style 'micro room' but I've stayed in smaller Queen size rooms in London. The large comfy bed was up against the wall but there was easy walking/luggage room around the bed and the shower room was more than adequate. I often get in late and leave early so suited me fine.

I was close to the laundry room and there was a strong smell of laundry detergent in the corridor although didn't affect the room.

the music could be heard until the bar closed and on a Monday night that was hard to sleep as we had a very early appointment the next day. next time I’ll bring earbuds to block out noise. one chair would be nice (folding or compact). when two sleep in the bed it would be great to have night lights on the headboard and a charging station for the person by the wall. a shelf in the top of the headboard for glasses and phone by the wall would be nice. for one person it was perfect.

The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. it baffles me that a lot of the negative reviews mention how small the rooms are. The words micro-room are literally in the name how could you possibly miss that. This hotel is great if you do not have bulky luggage and if you like minimalist traveling. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. We enjoyed some very tasty drinks at the bar and coffee in the morning.

The rooms should all come with 2 cups and some extra pillows. There were only 2 pillows for my partner and I, so it was uncomfortable to sit up while watching TV in the bed. That is the only negative about this hotel in my opinion.
