Holiday Inn Express Hotel Galveston West-Seawall, an IHG Hotel

the convenience of being right across the street was great and made for an easy commute to the beach. the hotel was an adequate price for the air family and there was enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. most of the staff was extremely kind and smiled, said good morning etc.

I felt like one of the ladies at the counter was honestly just waiting for me to shut up every time I tried to talk to her..while she was working and I requested room service, we got skipped. There were two other ladies I encountered and they were extremely kind, they were helpful, and we didn’t get missed. the whole building seems to be in need of some updates. I imagine it’s difficult to stay extremely clean and up to date with a hotel in that location and off the beach but it looks necessary. the hotel was overall pretty clean considering the beach traffic.

Great location. Room had a view of the ocean with a balcony. Served breakfast. Staff fixed what was wrong fast.

The room was clean but had a bad musty smell. Advised the front desk and they sent someone with some air freshener.

Could not find dr.pepper in hotel. But I usually can't anywhere.

My reservation through booking.com was a nightmare and it did not pay the money to the hotel and I had to have a hassle in order to get my bill paid

water in the bathroom sink took a long time to get warm, we were on the 4th floor, so maybe that had to do something with it.

First of all, my husband, my daughter and I stayed here due to my husband being seen at md Andersons. We drove approx 12 hours and was exhausted when we arrived. We arrive quite a bit early but Robert at the front desk was so accommodating. He was a breath of fresh air and made us feel instantly welcomed. He was so helpful to us the whole stay. Kay who always had our breakfast hot and so eager to help. We just love her. Always greeting you with a sweet smile and will go that extra mile to make your day better. We will be coming back in July, but it isn't for the rooms..the location..the price..it's because we love the way they made us feel. Good job at picking these 2 out.. they are both exceptional. Another employee Edward was so great, even though I never met him he definitely helped us out in regards to reservation. A big thank you to him. Yes the motel could use some updating, but I didn't pay for a 5 star motel. It was so relaxing watching the birds..and seeing my husband and daughter enjoy it as well. I will see you in July

I don't want to end this review negative so I'm just going to say this was concerning to me. I had seen where the rooms came with dove body wash, shampoo, and conditioner so I did not pack any. When we got to the room I looked in shower and there were half used bottles of each. I wish they would of been mounted on wall of shower with some kind of lock on them. I just kept thinking that some mean spirited person could of put anything in those bottles.

The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast attendant was also friendly, and worked very hard to keep things stocked and cleaned. Impressive really. Room was clean and the perfect size for our family of six.

For me personally, it’s nit-picking, but I could see how it would bother others who may stay here. The pool/hot tubs could use a good cleaning, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. Room service seemed a bit disorganized since our room wasn’t attended through our 3 night visit, but I assume its because of the busy travel season and most places are severely understaffed. It didn’t impact our visit, we don’t mind cleaning up after ourselves, and the staff was plenty helpful when we made specific requests for towels and other necessities.

Holiday Inn Express never disappoints myself and my family. The location is amazing. Hospitality is amazing. Room is always clean and cold and amazing. View of the beach is amazing. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING. It's the perfect spot for a perfect family vacation. We are actually planning to return in a couple of months because the experience was....AMAZING lol. There is nothing to dislike!!!

For us the bed was super comfortable. Staff were sweet and accommodating.

We had an issue with our room key deactivating. After having a busy morning and early afternoon we were looking forward to getting to our room to shower and relax. We parked in the covered parking and couldn't get in the door resulting in having to use the stairs and going to the front desk then to our room and we were worn out.
