AVID Hotels Corpus Christi - Portland, an IHG Hotel

I didn't like anything, i LOVED everything. This was a randomly night stay and most hotels were booked fully or overpriced. We got this hotel for a alright price. Although it was a bit pricey it was less than the others in the area on labor day. Hotel staff was very nice and friendly. We walked to our room and was very very surprised with how clean and amazingly kept it was. The design was so awesome! So modern and different in a good way! That pop of color really tied everything in together! Beds were very very comfortable. Breakfast was so clean and tidy, even saw them wiping after people (very covid cautious) the breakfast consisted of Jimmy Dean sandwiches, fresh fruits, oatmeal, lots of little individually wrapped goodies. The coffee was accessible at any time of day and was free. The had a little place to buy things you may have forgot at home! 10/10 will definitely stay again.

A bit pricey, but worth it.

This hotel is very ergonomic. For instance there was a small shelf in the shower so a woman could shave her legs. (first time I’ve ever seen that!) There is no closet. But there are hangers, hooks and places to hang your clothes. There is also no dressers but instead cubbies where you can store shoes, or other items. Then it’s easy to see when you get ready to leave (I’ve left stuff in hotel drawers, ugh) Toiletry items attached to the walls in the shower. NO ONE is gonna put something in them (read previous review by someone paranoid about that) and it reduces the little plastic shampoo/conditioner bottles, along with unused soaps. The breakfast is very basic continental but was good. They have coffee/tea service 24 hrs! Even cold and sparkling water dispenser so you can get good water. And the room rate was very reasonable. Some sports teams were there and you could not hear them on our floor so really quiet hallways. The bedrooms were tiled which was nice because sometimes I get allergens from the carpet. Especially since most hotels don’t shampoo their carpets often. But the best part was the friendliness of the staff!!! Front desk very organized and efficient. Maid service very hard working and friendly.

The room doors shut hard and secure. But our next door neighbors were in and out a lot at bedtime and the doors shook our shared wall. Not much you can do about that.

The location was great for our needs. The breakfast was not used because we take our own snacks/drinks with us. This hotel is fairly new, so it's still a very clean, nice place. The staff was very nice and informative. We loved the walk-in shower.

There was no coffee maker in the room, which is a big negative. Coffee is available in the lobby, but I don't want to get dressed to go downstairs that early. Also, no microwave in the room, which we use all the time. But the hotel is new, nice and the staff was great. This hotel sits slightly off the street, so the entrance to the hotel was difficult to enter at first . I suggested to the staff when we checked in that they needed an 'entrance' sign. Portland was once a sleepy little town and now it's a bustling mid-size city and the nightly rates reflect that.

I SO LOVED THE STAY @ AVID, SO CLEAN AND STAFF WAS FRIENDLY!! EVERYONE SAID HELLO AS WE WALKED DOWN THE HALL WAYS. THEY EVEN ASKED IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING . COFFEE ALL DAY AND BREAKFAST IN THE MORNING WAS EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOTHING, EVERYTHING WAS GREAT AND NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER. I WILL STAY AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. ITS A SAFE PLACE TO STAY WHEN I TAKE MY GRAND CHILDREN WITH ME. NOT ONE COMPLAINT ABOUT OUR STAY. THANK YOU

The beds/pillows were awesome. The rooms and common areas were clean and well appointed. The guest laundry facilities were very good. The breakfast had something for everyone. The fitness center is great. You are not far from Corpus, very close to the USS Lexington!!! Fun to visit if you have time. Lots of restaurants, shopping and a theatre close.

If they had some rooms with tubs. I love being able to soak after a long day.

This was my first stay ever with Avid Hotels and I have traveled quite a bit in my lifetime and I have to say that I'm quite impressed. Overall the hotel exceeded my expectations. Of course not of luxurious quality but if you're looking for a nice, quite, clean and comfortable hotel you can't beat this hotel for it's overall value. I will recommend Avid Hotels to friends and family members and I for one will continue to lodge at Avid Hotels for my future travel needs.

Just the clean lady was knoking the door since 11. I said we here for more time maybe 30min more I dont know. SHE KNOCK THE DOOR again at 11:20. Omg we leaving the room around 11:40. IN my reservation said checkout out at 12:00 I ask to front Desk they said usually is 11 or 1130 but dont worries at 12 is fine "super.". But the lady come on. I know se is doing her work but is really bad. Maybe need more comunication.. But everithing was really good maybe this misudertanding.... The hotel and room really clean and very silence. I LOVE IT. HOpe back again some day.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The soaps, breakfast, the cleanliness, no nasty carpet, and the staff.

The markings on wall looked like "someone missed a spot". Almost like blood from fishing. It was fixed right away. Also, the beds are WAY too high when you have little kids. Feels like the "princess and the pea".

There's was laminated floor in my room which a thought it was clean but it wasn't my socks caught hairs and dust, also there was a big brown stain seemed to be chocolate or other type of candy which I wiped out , there wasn't a bath tub water splashed all over the restroom. Breakfast was ok not impressed they serve only hot breakfast sandwiches, cold cereal, fruit, pastry, juices,coffee, bagels , NO WAFFLES , I love waffles

great location.. rms where clean small but you only need to sleep there. staff was great trying to fix problem with ac

air conditioner is terrible .. rm got hot at night .. ac runs for about 4 minutes than kicks off for about 6 minutes and kicks back on … it would be nice if unit just ran to keep room comfortable for you to sleep good
