South Padre Island Lodge

The room seems to have been renovated fairly recently, as the hotel seems considerably older. For the price I paid, I was very happy with the accommodations. Outdoor direct access, which is my preference. Staff were super nice and helpful.

Accommodations seemed a little spartan - but again, for the price, no complaints. It was a work trip, not a vacation, so extra amenities were not a priority. Overall a very pleasant, productive stay. Will stay again next time I'm at SPI.

When we pulled up outside, I was a bit worried we had picked a bad hotel but upon entering the room it was amazing. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. We had a king size bed and a double, a couch to sit on, and a small kitchen with both microwave and cooktop stove. No dishes are provided, so you would need to bring your own if you want to cook and it is small so you wouldn't want to cook a big meal but cooking eggs or something for breakfast wouldn't be bad. There was a desk and chair to sit down and eat at. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of towels for us. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do.

There are quite a few stairs to climb so if you are one to travel with a lot of things be prepared to carry things up the stairs as there is no elevator.

I liked the the bed was big and comfortable. I'm glad i got a room far from the pool. It's a really loud around the pool area. So take my advice and request a room far from the pool if you stay.

I didn't like the floor was dusty and dirty. My girlfriend got black stuff all over her feet. They need to sweep and mop the floor. And I did request a certain room but its not available when i checked in. So be aware you are not guaranteed that room.

The staff was amazing and very kind. When they couldn’t find my reservation (because of the app not their fault at all) they honored and upgraded with no extra charge. They went above and beyond and I am forever grateful for that.

It was clean and very comfortable.

More than anything the staff were super friendly and the rooms clean. It literally is like the pictures of inside the rooms, that was nice to see.

I wish we treated marijuana use like we treat cigarettes, have some designated areas. I don’t have anything against it, I just don’t want to be smelling it all the time, especially with some of the children around that.

Me and my wide planned a short trip notice to south Padre island for the weekend and we picked the SPI lodge. Yolanda was very helpful and checked us in with absolutely no issues and helped us how to get to the beach asap, which is not far at all, you can walk 1/4 mile from the hotel to a beach access and you’re there. AC was cold and got a great nights sleep! No complaints here. Thank you SPI lodge!

Manny was a great front desk attendant! Very polite, very accommodating, very professional!

A few of the other guests were confrontational and rude. Others left their children unattended and created problems in the pool area. Throwing drinks on us below from up above

Staff were really nice, the rooms were nice, & everyone staying there was respectful of everyone else.

The parking is very tight, and not a lot of parking available. Cleaning could have been a little better but it wasn’t bad.

Fantastic rooms and staff. Very clean. Close enough to the beaches and bay so you can walk there or a short drive to them.

The handicap accessibility was ok. For a person in a wheelchair or not able to walk easily I would go somewhere else. The ramps are steep and the door into the room has too high a foot plate to get over without help. Bathroom hand rails placed oddly and make it impossible to sit without using the toilet seat to hold onto.

The property was very clean and the pool was also very clean.

Some problems include very minimal parking, shampoo and conditioner is needed more than just the little packets that are there and there was also no body wash or soap. Lastly, the TV barely had any channels to watch.
