La Quinta by Wyndham Salt Lake City Airport

I needed to cut my ski vacation short due to big snowstorm coming. I looked at the location and saw breakfast included as well as free airport shuttle. I read a bunch of reviews which pretty much seemed to be highly positive like my experience or extremely unsatisfied with the staff, cleanliness and the fact that the hot tub was down. Oh, and also complaints about the breakfast. I gotta say my husband and I didn't have high expectations and we were very happy with the price, location, a very nice, clean room, very good breakfast. We don't care about a communal hot tub. Yes, the staff isn't extremely friendly but they do their job and when we asked about the shuttle were on the ball about signing us up for a time slot so we wouldn't be disappointed. Thanks SLC staff we hated to shell out extra money but so glad such an affordable option fit all our needs.

There wasn't anything that fell short for us. We're widely traveled and for super budget lodging, free breakfast and free shuttle, we're happy campers

Front desk staff was nice, not over the top friendly like I'm used to in Vegas but not rude. Room was as clean as you'd expect from a $100 hotel. Fitness room small but nice. Excellent selection at continental breakfast, and they have a really nice espresso machine. Location was conveniently off the freeway and in a really quiet part of town. Not far from downtown and the convention center. The pool is indoors and very clean. Beds were super comfy.

The coffee in the room is not great. There seems to be a lobby dog, which is nice but very startling. Be aware if you have kids afraid of dogs or with allergies. We didn't have the do not disturb sign up so housekeeping tried to get into our room at 730. Room keys are hit or miss. Bring a power strip if you have a lot of phones, our room outlets were all occupied by TV and lights.

Location near the SLC airport was great. Room was large, mostly clean, well designed for comfort, space. Pool, hot tub were just the right temperature with clean water and floors. Towels were provided for swimming.

Staff didn't appear efficient or put much effort into the job. Had difficulties bringing up our reservation and another guest before us. Room keys were not activated properly when checking in so we had to return to the lobby in order to get them properly activated. Breakfast was typical for the national chains in this price range, nothing special. Milk used by us in small, individual containers, one regular, one chocolate was spoiled, sour. Staff let the entire batch of milk which had an expiration date of the day we had breakfast be used by the guests before putting out additional containers. Breakfast was served with all plastic utensils or styrofoam. Tables were not wiped down properly.

The breakfast was better than usual Continental breakfasts are.

The room key card reader was so old that it took several aggravating minutes to get the door opened. I was so exhausted from traveling and aggravated by not being able to get into the room. I sat in the hallway until some random person offered to help me. They’d key card reader was ancient too and he tried to open his door for even longer than me. He had two children and a wife with him. He too was very upset with the poor quality of key card reader.

Lots of space in the room for my wife to get around on her scooter. Bed was too high but comfortable once my wife got up into it. Good hot breakfast. Good parking and location.

We needed a handicapped accessible room. It had lots of room to move around but the bed was way too high, the bathroom floor was very slippery and there was no shower transfer chair available. We had to go buy our own.

we were there for surgery for my husband at the U of U so we got an excellent hotel rate. Also I have a problem driving in SLC & not getting lost, so I asked Moses for help & he set up my phone with Maps app & I didn’t have any problems afterwards. He was a blessing to me & I am so thankful to him. Thank you Moses!!

The lamps & phone didn’t work when we first got there, maintenance came right away and found that things were unplugged???? He He fixed everything.

The cleanliness and comfort of the sleeping room and bath room was very good. The A/C unit worked perfectly.

I selected La Quinta because an Airport Shuttle was advertised. Upon Check-In I learned that the shuttle service doesn't start until 4:30AM. I had to be at the SLC Airport at 3:45AM for my 5:10AM departure. This info should have been disclosed in advance.

Quick easy checkin. Airport shuttle was great. Room was nice and spacious. Coffee and croissant in the morning before heading to the airport.

More communication/clarity on using the airport shuttle would be great. Wish as in the email you send, you could explain where to go, what to look for, how often it runs or that you need to call the front desk to ask for the shuttle when you arrive.

I have stayed here many times. it’s very close to I80 and not far from downtown or the airport.

The heater fan would never turn off in are room. even if you turned off the heat at the thermostat the fan kept on running. I did not report it as it wasn’t that big a deal. Only other real negative is this property is not close to restaurant choices. You had to drive to find a restaurant.

Overall pretty nice hotel. A little dated, but it is kept up pretty well. Staff was nice and the good dog "friendliness" - we got a nice room ground floor near the back exit.

Nothing bad really. At some point the place will need a facelift, but it is very well kept up right now and a nice convenient stay for a road trip.
