Four Chimneys Inn

Breakfast was excellent. I truly enjoyed the light, fluffy blueberry pancakes and the lovely room where breakfast was served. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, very clean, and did not get steamed up after showers. Bennington seemed charming, and I wish I could have spent a little more time there.

We were on a road trip with a lot of bags, and our room was on the third floor, which meant lugging a lot of stuff up and down, but we knew this ahead of time, and it was ok. Our mattress seemed like it was due for replacement. However, it was certainly acceptable, and I slept fine.

We loved Four Chimneys Inn. It is a beautiful property, the staff was super helpful and accommodating, it was close to everything we needed to do in Bennington and the daily breakfast was yummy. They had great choices for food and the menu didn't change the entire time we were there so we could try different things on different days if we wanted to try several meals while we were there. We stayed in the 'icehouse" and really enjoyed the place. It was cozy, well appointed and afforded a good deal of privacy.

The only complaint was the bed wasn't as comfortable as we would have liked, but we are used to a very soft, pillow top type of mattress so it is just a personal preference. It is about 50/50 if we are going to like the bed when we travel. I will say that I did not have a hard time sleeping and information was left in the room about the mattress type so there are probably many people who will enjoy that mattress.

Lovely inn with nice period features. Personable staff who made us feel very welcome. We loved sitting on the porch in the evening.

The breakfast could have been better. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and tasteless and the potatoes were not hot.

Excellent hot and plentiful breakfast served in an elegant dining area. Given a choice of several options selected the night before. The property was nicely maintained and decorated. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

An exceptional breakfast after a very comfortable night. Bedroom was spacious and well equipped with the bonus of a jacuzzi bath. Quiet area for sitting out on rocking chairs looking across the gardens.

Beautifully decorated room . Kept impeccably clean. The breakfast menu is very nice. And dining room is pleasant so is the staff serving. The site has lots of trees and green grass. You can be relaxed and sleep well .

They do not offer dinner at the property. It was difficult to find a good restaurant for a dinner after 7:00pm in the town probably partly due to the pandemic.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The Breakfast was very nice and the dinning room is beautiful.

Unfortunately, the owner let the chef go so no dinner service was available.

The inn and surroundings grounds are elegant and beautiful, and perfect for a quiet, relaxed getaway. Staff are friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about sites and restaurants in the area. Breakfast choices were varied, well-prepared and simply scrumptious. We would recommend the inn to anyone who wants a romantic vacation in a very beautiful part of Vermont.

Breakfast GREAT. Really appreciated being moved to room on first floor to be better for husband. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Lobby/entry smells musty but the room didn’t.
