Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Claypool Hill -Richlands Area, an IHG Hotel

bright, clean, easy to get into building and to the rooms. felt comfortable going in and out with luggage at night.

it’s at the back of a plaza but the drive way was not easily marked. we turned at the red light just before the hotel, thought we were in the wrong place/dead end, had to go back out to 460 and find another way to the hotel. turned out that we could have pulled all the way past the stuff near light/Wendy’s (where we thought it was a dead end) because there was a small strip of road that led around to the hotel.

I thought the breakfast was fine, as expected and as usual for a Holiday Inn Express.

The only thing I thought could have been better was the arrangement of where the coffee was placed. In our case, a very heavy man was seated near the coffee and there wasn't much room between his little table and the serving area.

the night desk manager changed us to a new room as the previous one smelled horribly. he even came up to the room to verify it was to our satisfaction 👍🏼. the breakfast bar was great. fully stocked with hot food and other options.

the room I was given smelled like a dog had been living there for a week.

Property was extremely clean and the staff was so nice and professional. The breakfast was good and the sever was such a sweet woman. Everyone even the guest were smiling. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Will visit again in the future.

Allergy sufferers make sure you have medicine because the hotel is right in the middle of mountain terrain with trees and flowers etc.. I had some meds but not enough to keep me from having problems with my allergies.

super friendly staff. large room. the hot breakfast was delicious and a nice surprise, as most hotels are still doing that whole “covid” grab and go junk. It was nice to see a hotel that wasn’t cheaping out.

the location wasn’t the best but it worked for what we needed.

Carpeted stairwells, full bottles of Dove shampoo/conditioner / body wash/ hand soap and body lotion. Clean updated bathroom fixtures.

Missing some baseboards throughout building.

Our stay was very good. The staff was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great. However, the building itself needs some work done on it. Around the baseboards in our room and in the bathroom, it looked like there were cracks and in places the baseboard was pulling away from wall. We stay in that area at least once a year, and this hotel and the one in Lebanon is where we stay. So I hope management makes some repairs before it deterates more. The place was very clean.

The commode in our room had water running through it constantly.

Breakfast was great! Breakfast attendant was very nice! Large variety of options.

Parking. The parking lot is a little small.

Hostess at breakfast was so very kind and delicious breakfast

Only complaint I have is front desk said someone combined bout my dog barking! He was a puppy and didn't bark for long, like asking a baby not to cry! I paid the 25 pet fee because you are pet friendly, thats the only thing I didn't appreciate!
