Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Abingdon, VA

As many other reviewers have mentioned, the breakfast was above average for a hotel chain. I particularly appreciated the dairy-free milk options and whole-grain muffins. The beds were comfortable and the location was quiet despite being at capacity. We stayed on the first color with our pup and small children and they slept without disturbance. There is a Dominos basically in the parking lot which made it much easier after a long day of driving and a late check-in.

I'm not sure if there are smoking options in the hotel or if it's just residual but there was definitely a stale smoke smell. It wasn't overbearing, just noticeable.

The staff was delightful, especially the young man behind the desk Saturday evening. He was probably the nicest most helpful one I have ever encountered. I really liked the decorative tile in the bathroom. we thought the bathroom was the most attractive room in the hotel. The breakfast was a good selection, great variety. We were very pleased with our first stay at a Raddison. it was cheaper and better than the four other hotels in the nearby area. I will be delighted to stay at another one.

The gray exterior and interior walls. it looked like a prison. everything else about the decor was fine but the gray. it is not a welcoming color! and I’d rather have had a pot for hot water since I bring my own International coffee. Also outlets on the lamp or on the table by the bed for charging phones etc would be very helpful. I had two to plug in and had to put one in the bathroom, thereby inaccessible.

This place is so clean and comfortable! I love a quiet hotel and that definitely fits the bill here too. The room was great - clean, comfy beds, standard things you may need or want. Staff was so welcoming and helpful. They all seem to like working there and greet you every time you pass by one of them. Super helpful when I had a few questions too.

Parking late night is a bit packed but there are lots of spaces - just might have to walk from across the parking lot. It is in an area that is up and coming/being redone so it is convenient but might be hard to get into for now.

We were traveling with dogs so we stayed on the 1st floor. The hotel provided an easy way to take our dog outside and everything needed to clean up afterwards. I have mobility issues so we had an accessible room and I had no problem using the facilities. Breakfast was good and it provided us with a fuss free experience. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway with several close by dinner options.

Be advised that you do have to sign liability forms for the dogs and pay an extra $35 cleaning fee.

Having coffee and tea availible throughout the day was greatly appreciated. Our room was large and the A/C was plentiful. The room location was good, far enough from the elevator and quiet. The freezer unit in the room was fantastic. We were able to keep our ice blocks frozen for the duration of our stay.

The breakfast was limited. The biscuits were not heated per directions; they sat in the chaffing dish and were cool and gummy. We would have liked to have a Market where we could purchase snacks and drinks. As we entered the hotel, the staff was usually outside smoking. Our hallway smelled of pot throughout our visit. The room was free of dust and visible particles; however, the coffee pot, tissue box, and trays in the bathroom and the bedroom were covered in grime.

Comments On Breakfast: In General, Biscuits With Eggs And Meat A Little Tough (The Bread That Is). Waffle Section Should Be In A Better Location To Not Disrupt The Flow Of People Arriving And Trying To Get A Plate, Eating Utensils, And Napkins To Get Started (People Crowd The Area While Making Waffles). Increase Selection Of Cereals (There Was Only One Selection). The Person Tending The Breakfast Area Was Excellent And Very Hard Working (You Are Lucky To Have Her). Location Was OK. Did Not Really Like People Bringing Their Pets In To Breakfast Area (If One Decides To Go On The Floor - That Is Not Going To Go Over Well). Thank You.

Very comfortable beds...delicious cookies in the lobby....swimming pool....amazing breakfast! Very nice place to stay for a few days and just relax. We went to Abington to ride the Virginia Creeper trail and access point was c;lose and easy to get to.

The only problem with the pool was that there were no umbrellas for shade...we were there on VERY hot days...but other than that there were no real problems that I can think of. Maid service is only every three days, but the only thing we ran out of and had to request was more coffee for the room coffee pot. The highway is right next to the hotel so its pretty noisy outside...but not unbearable by any means.

The property was so convenient to not only Abingdon, VA, but also BristolVA/TN! Great room, Beautiful lobby, Excellent hot breakfast, friendly helpful staff, exceptionally clean rooms, lobby, breakfast area and food bar , property and grounds. We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary . Also, a fast and flawless check in and out thanks to booking. com

I encountered inclement weather on my way to start house hunting here in the mountains of Virginia. After driving for hours I decided to stop & take a break The reason I was driving on was to get to my destination I don’t normally drive @ night, however my lodging was extremely sub~par, so the amount charged to me was returned. I booked through an online reservation. I got to your hotel in the morning. Your front desk represents your lovely hotel in spades! Her name is Emily. She is a gem, I told myself, as she so graciously found me a wonderful room. Then, in the morning, after the best sleep I have known, I was so impressed by all the staff. Their genuine care as to any guest, will have me & my family’s loyalty always in the future. And I wish I could remember everyone’s name, because they’ve got a stellar crew! Rock On!!!

Our regular stop when in the area. Great location. Recently remodeled with spacious, clean, comfy rooms. Young man servicing breakfast area did an excellent job.

Breakfast room is far too small. Lots of groups stay here and it is crowded, even without groups. Would give a 10 except that breakfast is an unpleasant experience, with strangers practically sitting in your lap and LOTS of noise.
