La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Roanoke Salem

The staff were excellent and were more than helpful when needed. The location was also great, very close to the highway, but I couldn't hear the traffic there.. The breakfast was ok. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable.

The room had a bad smell, but staff brought room deodorizing spray and also offered to change our room. The bathtub did not have any anti-slip prevention in it, so it's very slick. There is not enough seating in the small breakfast area.

This hotel must have been updated it was very nice. The only problem I had was the toilet backed up and the refrigerator didn't work so keeping juice cold was a problem. Bed was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was the same everyday but not bad. I would stay again.

As far as I know know one came to check out the refrigerator .

It was a nice stay while passing thru. This room did the job but it wasn't anything special. Staff was nice, room was ok. A bit dark but we were only there for a night. Would have give a 10 but we had our 2 cats with us while moving across country. One of which likes to hide in the smallest spots she can get to which in this case was inside the box spring under the bed. The whole side was ripped open (guessing done by another animal) so she had full access to God knows what was under there. I took a video with my phone to be sure there was nothing under there that could hurt her since we couldn't get her to come out. It seemed ok except the empty liquor bottles and random trash under there. I know not many people will be concerned with under the bed but for us it was important and I would hope for cat friendly properties like this, they would consider those nooks and crannies as potential danger issues with small cats like ours. We would stay here again if needed.

The location was simple for us right off the interstate. Comfortable, charming. They had coffee in the lobby which I needed from traveling so long. Our room was last in hallway next to pool entrance and the exit to the dog walks. Great grassy area for pets to do their business. We travel 100% with our pup and her comfort is more important to us. If we are in area again, we will be back

We were not thrilled with the breakfast. Eggs seemed like frozen hockey pucks that were steamed back to life. Very chalky tasting and not a fan. The sausage... well... again, frozen that was steamed and didn't smell inviting. The waffles however were the star of the breakfast. Maybe expand on the waffles with different toppings and let people know what the sausage really is.

Staff were lovely. Bed comfy. They were pet friendly. Breakfast super yum.

My room was nxt to elevator so i could hear it at night. I chose the hotel bc it was close to hiking entrances for the Appalachian trail, but the hotel is far from any decent foid.

Like other La Quinta Inn, you allow far two many dogs in each facility. Hopefully you provide rooms that do not accommodate dogs. Not all the people who walked their dogs find it necessary to pick up after their dogs, same people who don’t pick up after them in highway rest areas. Must of been over twenty dogs in your facility, thought I was at a kennel. People with dogs in the breakfast area, lobby and in the hall ways. I love my dogs but when we travel we put our dogs in a kennel.

Clean, comfortable room. Quiet corridor. Pleasant staff.

Awful breakfast. (The eggs didn't even look like food, and overall I had the impression that the corporation wasn't even trying to make the choices appealing--the only goal was to spend as little money as possible. Corporate managers shouldn't offer food to its guests that they probably wouldn't be willing to eat themselves.) No fridge in the room. (I really could have used one.)

Everyone was so nice and the hotel was beautiful as well as very clean. I was traveling overnight with my dog, and as a woman, always have concerns with my safety. I was put on the first floor near a door for easy access for my dogs needs. Would absolutely stay here again.

Maybe sell toiletry items, like toothbrush and toothpaste, in the little store they have. I forgot mine, not a deal breaker because there is a convenience store next door, but I would have liked to give my money to the hotel instead of the convenience store.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and general areas were clean and inviting.

There was only one item that was not up to standards - the hotel had clear labeling that it was a 100% smoke free zone but the minute you walked in, you could smell smoke and the linens smelled a bit smoky. Perhaps a better air filtering system is needed or someone is smoking near the laundry .

Room was very comfortable and very clean. Got a great night's sleep in the bed. Loved how accommodating the place was in terms of getting me a ground floor room for my dog. Hat tip to the other pet owners staying - everyone helped "keep the peace" with their doggos.

Breakfast was the worst I'd ever had at a La Quinta. Couldn't hold a candle to spread offered at the Chambersburg, PA LQ. Terribly weak coffee - I had to dump it. And the toilet is so low. I'm not disabled, but as an older adult I notice these things more and more. If you don't want to replace them, place a grab bar on the wall nearby to help those of us with creaky knees get up.
