Super 8 by Wyndham South Boston VA

We did not eat at the property so I can't give a review on that, but we really didn't even have to leave the property because everything we needed was right there for our use. They helped make our anniversary a great one.

We were there for a whole week and it would have been nice to have a kitchen in the room so I could have cooked instead of having to go out and buy something every night. The only other thing that frustrated me was having to go up and down the stairs because there is no elevator to use.

Stayed for BlueRidge Rockfest 2022 and it was just about 20 minutes away from offsite parking. It was one of the more affordable rooms that was that close. Wasn't too worried about all the ins and outs we just needed a bed and shower for the evening but was pleasantly surprised for the price.

Only thing negative I have to say is when you book a room for 4 people you shouldn't have to go to the desk every night and ask for more towels when cause they only left two when housekeeping came though during the day. But other than that, no real complaints. I also booked for next year as soon as I got back home.

Close to shopping centers and food outlets.

The carpet on the outside needed to be vacuumed, and there was always a smell of someone smoking pot! There was never anyone come into the room to even attempt to try to clean, I had to ask and then the cleaning custodian, didn’t do anything to clean my room, except take my trash away, and I had to tell him to do that! The majority of the cleaning I had to do myself, the days that I was staying there, not one person came in there when I left my room, to clean.

The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and the shower had high pressure and plenty of hot water. The hotel was located in front of a shopping center, so anything we needed was within walking distance, including multiple restaurants. Free wifi and plenty to watch with Direct TV. The price was a little bit more than what I'm used to paying for Super 8, but overall it was still worth it and we really enjoyed our stay. I'll definitely stay here again.

The hotel is currently being renovated, so there was quite a bit of noise the morning after we checked in...not a problem if you'll be out and about, but definitely problematic if you're planning to just rest and relax in your room. There was also a strong weed smell coming from one of the rooms nearby.

Location was great for the event we were attending. Staff friendly.

Breakfast was over by 9 but they didn’t have breakfast really, just yogurt, 2 cereals a few dessert type muffins/rolls. not like the picture showed with more choices. when your event is late into the night hard to get breakfast by 9 and really just wanted coffee.

The lady at the desk when we checked in made our stay!! She was very nice and accommodating, professional and efficient! We don’t stay in the area often but when we do we will be booking here. Located near multiple restaurants and gas stations too which makes the location great considering the miles of nothing around it. Not a 5 star hotel by any stretch but definitely the top of their category!

Parking lot was small, we were towing a boat, the lady at the front desk assured us that we could park any way that we had to, no problem, great!

I like the room I like that it had a refrigerator a safe and also dressers to put everything up the room is very nicely put together.

My only issue was that I was trying to get a room Saturday morning and it fell into Friday due to the time of check-in. Booking.com was trying to or probably did charge me for the cancellation which I was told to do by the manager that took the payment for my room.

We stayed on second floor and there was lots of banging and at 2:10am there was LOUD I mean LOUD woman singing somewhere I could not tell if real or on a t v !

It was quiet, nice and clean, great bed and we never turned on the tv! Breakfast was enjoyable and the coffee was delicious. Thanks much, as we will stay again, next year for, the festival.

Nothing.

The bed was extremely comfortable but a little high to get into. The room had a little bit of a funky smell but that could have been partly due t o it being a smoking room. Overall a very good value.

Would have liked at least one lamp on one of the nightstands.
