Motel 6-Staunton, VA

I wasn't sure what to expect in a hotel that allowed pets; but it was what we needed. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel was affordably priced and exceptionally clean and friendly. Our room was not carpeted and was as inviting to our dog as it was to us. Thankfully, it didn't smell like a wet dog, nor was it overly scented with air sprays. It simply smelled clean. Additionally, we had plenty of room and had very comfortable beds. The microwave and fridge were clean and worked fine. The bathroom was a wonderful surprise. The shower had only a short, maybe 10-inch-high ledge, to step over, which was a welcome find as I am mobility impaired.

It needs a handrail in the shower. Even people who are not handicapped appreciate a bar to hold onto at times in the shower. A continental breakfast would be nice. It will be even better when the pool is back up and running!

I usually don't stay at Motel 6 after a bad experience, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I love laminate floor instead of carpet; it feels so much cleaner! The coffee in the lobby was as good as any hotel coffee. The grounds outside of registration were very well manicured. The doors to the rooms were freshly painted (chipping a little at the bottom, but that's to be expected). Many complaints were about noise, but I think that is just luck of the draw. We couldn't hear a peep from our neighbors!

There was no shampoo and conditioner and there was some discoloration in areas, ie around the bathtub. No coffee in the rooms.

Arrived to a nice facility with friendly staff. Checking was quick. When we got to the room, everything was clean and orderly however the television did not work. After a quick phone call to the front desk, the staff looked into it and said us up quickly for another room. After that everything went smoothly for the night. Handled very well and quick. Thank you

As mentioned above, the TV and remote did not work in room 200. Also there was a bit of a gap between the entry door at the bottom left corner but other than that everything was good good.

The staff were super friendly, the room was immaculate and there was plenty of open grassy field to walk our two dogs. they had a poop station fully stocked with bags and a trash can. it was a quick 10 minute drive into the strip where there was a Walmart and plenty of places to eat. It was right off the highway and super cheap!

This was not a planned stop, and being able to find an affordable place that permitted pets on such a short notice was exceptional. We had 2 rooms for 6 adults and they were spacious and clean. Place was quiet!

Some questionable characters out in the courtyard/parking lot and several vehicles up on blocks or in various stages of condition.

I love the location. It was very quiet and no one bothered you.

Only issue we had was the bathroom was leaking somewhere and we told them and they never sent no one over. So we had to keep cleaning it up. Also don’t like the fact that you can’t put a do not disturb sign out so the maids don’t bother you on your stay.

Overall, immaculately clean rooms and grounds HUGE rooms

there was a dirty wash cloth on top of the shower curtain I requested a first floor room and was assigned a 2nd floor room. The front desk person even acknowledged that reservation requests aren’t honored-rooms given as people check in.

It has two dog parks, the people are extraordinarily friendly, and the price is wonderful. I will stay again.

I would like the check in to tell us that we have to ask for daily cleaning if we want that. We stayed 5 days and were surprised on the second day. Please let all customers know that the alternate day cleaning is only optional.

Pets stay free, the price was good, even with all of the activity outside, I felt safe there. The location is nice, but not walkable to anything. Only a few minutes to stores and restaurants!

The bed topper was dirty, there were ants all around the sink, the grass hadn't been mowed in a while and it seemed that several people live in the rooms full time. Not that that is necessarily bad, but there was just a lot of activity outside (people grilling out, getting haircuts, etc)

First room we were offered was a non-smoking room, but when we entered we could smell that someone had smoked in the room. Registration desk young lady moved us to another (and better) room with no smoking smell.

TV remote did not work. Smoke smell in the first room we were offered.
