Sonder Georgetown C&O

Great location in the heart of Georgetown, close to the waterfront, shopping, and the university. Large rooms, comfortable bed, good toiletries, full kitchen with full sized appliances, good quality knives, dinnerware, etc., ready supply of coffee, responsive online service and pleasant staff.

Kitchen cabinets were obviously refaced leaving poor quality interiors that were in poor shape, missing shelves, peeling interiors etc. Only streaming services on tv, can't access broadcast or cable channels. Parking is an issue but local garage was not terribly expensive.

The location within Georgetown is exactly what any tourist would want to have. Easy walking to shops and a range of restaurants. It is easy to get to and there was a simple check-in process. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and everything you need to prepare little meals and the king bed was comfy. Will definitely stay there again whenever I come back to DC.

The heater works really well but does make quite a bit noise; however, a white noise machine and ear plugs are offered to help you sleep through the night.

Building is in a great location within walking distance of the metro for exploring Washington or getting to the airport. Easy to use door codes meaning no key card to lose. Apartment was spacious, with a lovely over bath shower, a well equipped kitchen, dining table and chairs and a lovely, comfortable bed and ample wardrobe space. If we had any queries (which we emailed) staff were quick to respond and answer fully. The storage lockers were great- both for arriving early and for getting out for last cpl of hours before heading off to the airport.

this property is in a great location in Georgetown, close to everything. It is more like staying in an apartment than a standard hotel room, which worked well for us. The shower was hot, with good water pressure, and when it was cold and raining, the Italian restaurant next door was more than adequate for dinner. There is a full size coffee maker with supplies and lots of linens. Beds were comfortable

The room is a little rundown, with a slightly shoddy paint job, some damage to the walls in the bathroom, and just feeling a little battle worn. The kitchen disposal had not been run after the last guest, so that was a little gross. The tv systems had not reset from the last guests, so Netflix was in Arabic with child locks, Amazon Prime was in Japanese, also with child locks, etc. No, you couldn’t log out. We ended up streaming another service, but it was just kind of a hassle when traveling as a family. Not a huge deal, but there is no full time management staff at the facility to help with that.

It was clean and well maintained. The code system to enter the building and apartment worked very well, so we were all more independent than just having a pair of keys. The laundry room was great, and we had sufficient towels and bed linens when needed.

There was construction work on the 4 nearby buildings, a lot of trucks and workers...starting at 7:00 am. We were given earplugs, but it was still very noisy and woke us all very early every working day of the week.

The location was great! I loved that the C&O canal was steps from our door. Very clean room, plenty of space, nice kitchen It’s close enough to walk to Georgetown University in 20-30 minutes, which was my main destination. Many wonderful restaurants to choose from in immediate vicinity.

The lighting in the room at night needed to be brighter Hard to find at first. The Lyft drivers kept trying to drop us off and pick us up at the garage door on 29th street despite being given the correct address of 30th street. We had to contact the driver directly each time to give them more specific instructions for pick up.

Great location, and very cool modern decor in both the building and apartment. In general, the apartment was great, and it was really nice to have all of the amenities provided. The kitchen equipment was excellent; sharp knives and aluminum foil, all necessary equipment, and we appreciated the cleaning supplies and trash bags left for us. Bedding quality was nice, and there were plenty of towels. Fabulous TV with a Roku with guest setup, the only thing missing was a throw for the sofa to cuddle up with. Access through the door code is a very handy way to get in and out, and not worry about keys. I would definitely stay at a Sonder property again.

The apartment wasn't as clean as I would have expected. The glass cook top of the stove was a mess, I left it much cleaner than when we arrived. There was hair (not ours) on the shower wall. The cleaning job just felt rushed and not so thorough. I'm sure they are having the same staffing problems that the rest of the world is. The balcony is tiny, but it would have been nice if they put a small outdoor weather proof table and chair so it could be used. While the bedding quality was nice, we had a queen duvet in a king duvet cover, so it was never really "right". That said, I would still stay here again.

This is a great option for staying in Georgetown, especially if you will not be extra reliant on your car, but can use public transportation or walk. The apartments are well stocked, comfortable and clean. The location is great.

The kitchens do not have great ventilation (even with the vent from the microwave) and the rooms can feel stuffy or stinky depending on what you have cooked! The front door jammed and despite having the correct code, would not open. This happened on two occasions, and once when t was late at night. While we did call and it was resolved, this can be a problem if coming home alone. I highly recommend that parking be offered as an Ad-on.
