Obertal Inn

We loved the friendly staff and location of the hotel. The strudel was exceptional and we ordered two full sizes to bring to Christmas dinner with friends. Breakfast was also good. Cleanliness of room was good. We also appreciate the frig, microwave and coffee in room.

The parking lot was dangerous and hard to move around in. I dont think Covid should be used as an excuse to not clean rooms, or to have to pick up breakfast. It is getting to the point that businesses are using the pandemic to save labor dollars. A bathtub would have been nice. We are pretty tech savvy but never could figure out the TV.

This place is amazing! I got to say the king suite with spa tub is definitely my favorite. The staff are helpful and pleasant. Whether it's a band aid or a small screwdriver for a child's toy, they are there to please Rooms are clean, and are tastfully put together. This inn is dog friendly, but you wouldn't know it walking into one of the rooms here. Smell clean and fresh. The fresh baked strudel is something you should not miss, the breakfast has many options to choose from, and comes with coffee,tea,orange juice or milk. It's close to all the restaurants and shopping. I would definitely recommend this inn for anyone coming to enjoy Leavenworth and it's surroundings.

Parking is tight, but we seemed to get into a spot each time we came in.

Great location, just off the main area of downtown but close enough to walk. Within a block or so of shops. Great place with a picnic bench out front and the weather was perfect, maybe a little hot for some for Maifest. We got rolls and pretzels from Bavarian Bakery (must stop in) and meats and cheeses from the Cheese Monger (another must stop) and had breakfast outside on the bench each morning.

Room was great but walls were a bit thin. Neighbors were loud at night. Was multiple rooms away from the hotel, more like smaller apartments and we were unlucky to have one set off people staying next door wanting to party more and coming back to the room around midnight and continue with the festivities.

Great comfortable two story townhouse. Common space with kitchen/dining/lounge areas as well as lovely balcony. Upstairs with 2 comfortable bedrooms/baths and balcony. Nice to have living and sleeping space separated. Fantastic downtown location. Imagine it may get a little loud during peak season (airplugs provided as thoughtful amenity). Space great for families or small groups. Appreciate that it is pet friendly with reasonable rules. Dedicated parking for one car (Parking note: space is a little tight so large SUV might be difficult. Note to mobility impaired: Stairs to unit from parking.) Will definitely stay again!

Only downside to our stay was that requested crib was forgotten, but we just had our toddler share our bed instead, so no big deal.

The room was cozy and had an amazing view! The room was very private and quiet. There was plenty of parking. The strudel we ordered was delicious and such a treat to enjoy during our stay. The window seat was a great feature.

It would have been nice to have a place to sit and eat. There was space in the room for a table and a couple of chairs. The rocking chairs weren’t very comfortable. The cushions in the window seat was very thin and uncomfortable. We had to wash our own dishes but the sink in the kitchen area was very hard to use to get those dishes done. The light and outlet in the kitchen area didn’t work. The coffee wasn’t great.

When we opened the door to our room I was shocked at how much larger it actually was than I expected. It was also a freshly baked strudel waiting for us which was delicious. I love that they anticipated what we might want or need (like earplugs for keeping our the s'mores from your roommate, USB ports in multiple locations, quality shampoo and conditioner). The staff was friendly and helpful. We were one block off of the main Street which put us close to everything we could want including food, shopping, breweries, wine tasting and the charming look of downtown Leavenworth during the day and at night. I found a lovely little quilt shop about a half a mile east of downtown and I'm sure the sales lady there was sorry she wasn't on commission after I left LOL.

I honestly can't think of what could have been better.

The folks running the Inn are wonderful and friendly. The location is very convenient for sightseeing and walking to restaurants and shops.

Whether it was my mistake or misleading information on the site about this property I'm not sure. Our disappointment was that we were under the impression that our unit FACED Front street so that we could sit on the balcony watching the lights and passersby. Our unit Dreamsuite #2 is actually on the alley and though it may have a view of the mountains, it was not the view we were wanting or expected. Had we known ALL of the details about this unit before our arrival we would have chosen a different, much less expensive room. There are 3 flights of outside stairs and the room was spendy/overpriced for a view of the alley.

The room was the tennesee suite out on Icicle River. The bridge was closed so we had to take a 3+ mile detour. We brought our electric bikes which was a blast but much farther from suite to town due to closure. It was decorated in fun music decor , old records above the bed, a microphone for fun. The best part was the beautiful view. Was spectacular watching the sun come up over the mountain and reflecting on the river. Deer were wondering right up on the patio and brown squirrels chased each other from tree to tree. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The coffee bar had REAL glass coffee cups, wine glasses and cocktail glasses. Keurig coffee maker, so if you like more than one coffee per day bring extra, but there is decaf too. Fridge is good size and there is a sink to rinse off dishes so you dont have to use the bathroom sink.

It was too hot in the room. 74 all night long. The property must have been a residence at one time as the heat regulator was in the hallway and was locked so you couldnt adjust. We did crack the door and then you can listen to the river and get some cooler air flow. there are lots of stairs as on bottom level, so if that is a problem for anyone, book the upper floor.

Each of the five breakfast choices were delicious and the staff person preparing them was very friendly. The room was exceptionally comfortable, well lit, above average size, and very clean. Beautiful flowers and decorations surrounded the outside of the hotel and a very nice sitting area was located off the second-floor walkway. Parking in big lot just off the stairway. Bulk toiletries of high quality so no waist of small containers. Everything was in fine repair and beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Artwork in room, along with chairs, TV tables, etc. A very nice room.

Breakfast took a while as the line was a bit long and it was one person at a time receiving breakfast from staff. Breakfast was only served from 8 – 10 and we would have preferred an early option. A dog in a room next door barked quite a bit. Parking was tight with it hard to open the car door when parked. There was no room service and this seemed to upset another guest who threw their garbage out on the walkway joining the rooms. No elevator to the third floor. Bathroom door was of the sliding type and didn't close completely.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom/2-bath at the Wunderbar property which was huge, clean, and wonderful. Although check-in was at a different location. it was easy and nearby. We were very happy that the property had an elevator and large washer/dryer in the unit. The balcony view was pleasant. Loved the location, able to walk right into downtown Leavenworth as well as right near the start if the waterfront trail.
