Beach Harbor Resort

Privately owned, nice size rooms, clean, bathroom remodeled, dog-friendly, friendly/welcoming staff, beach, water activities, resort fire pit, quiet location. With so many available outdoor amenities, I’d like to visit again in the warmer months.

The food (Friday night fish fry) ordered from the bar at the resort was not good. Was charged double the price listed in the room binder/info, didn’t seem freshly made, no sides/condiments (tarter sauce/coleslaw/bread…). While the resort is in a quiet location it does take time to get to the more touristy areas of Door County (which I also feel can be a positive). Considering the food experience, plan meals/snacks accordingly.

The staff was very nice and very helpful. We loved being so close to “Waterfront Mary’s.” The food was wonderful and very inexpensive! We liked being on the first floor, with a sliding glass door to go outside.

The key for the door. I am not use to having a key as opposed to a card that you can slide into a slot to get the door open. The door to the outside, through the hallway could not be locked. I would have felt better had it been lockable.

The beach area was beautiful -- lots of activities for any family. The bar was really nice. Food was very good & drinks were done well. Beds comfortable. Staff was great, especially Ada, a waitress.

I would describe the rooms as "rustic". Almost vintage! The place was very clean. Our first impression was "sketchy", but we ended up really liking our stay.

The location was just what we wanted - right on the water. It was beautiful and just a little outside of town. We were grateful for the free use of the kayaks! And we enjoyed the beach. The host of the fish fry was fun and friendly!

Rooms are modest but sufficient. The updates look great. They were a little musty.

This resort is the kind of place where guests change out of their street clothes and into T-shirts, swimsuits and sandals the day they arrive and spend the week swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, eating, drinking and enjoying their time away. There's a nice beach, free kayaks, a fun bar and restaurant onsite, and fish boils four nights a week. Lots of fun!

On fish boil nights, parking can be a challenge, because so many locals like to come here for the food and the music at Waterfront Mary's. Wait a little while and someone will decide to go home so that you can park.

We were impressed with ladies at the front desk! They were super kind & friendly even when things got busy. The view was beautiful! Coffee at sunrise on the beach was great! Our beds were comfy and the room was quiet. Very satisfied with the updated bathroom!! The hotel was what I expected for the rate we paid. It was not a high-end hotel but we knew that going in. All we wanted was a clean & quiet place to sleep at the end of a busy day!

The overall appearance of the hotel was outdated and somewhat run down. There must have been an issue with water since you could smell it was damp in the hallways and several dehumidifiers running.The only other issue we had was being turned away at the adjoining restaurant & bar and being told they ran out of food when we had planned on eating dinner there. Very very busy restaurant which also made parking at times difficult.

A nice tucked away beach front motel with lots of water activities and fish boils Tuesday’s and a Thursday’s. The room was adequate with no beach smells. With longer stays it is a little inconvenient to have to request towels, coffee and supplies and get new liners for the trash. If you can remember to request it between certain times allotted it probably isn’t an issue, we were just always was away from the place at the times allotted. The place is very quiet and nice to sit out in the cool evenings with plenty of chairs down by the water. The restraint was not open a lot so we didn’t visit there. The motel has a sign which says breakfast can be purchased for $5 at the restaurant but they don’t open until after we were already heading out for our day so we always found a nice place to eat in Sturgeon bay.

The room doors only have little turn locks on the door handles, easy to jimmy from the outside if someone wanted in. There was also a chain at the top. If I wasn’t with my husband I would not have felt so safe. The patio door on the other side had a level lock.

I was told there was no breakfast but we received a great recommendation from the staff. We enjoyed the property unfortunately the weather did not behave but it looks like a great place to enjoy when it is sunny! We enjoyed the resort and most likely will return.

The resort is Very good. the location is awesome. beach access in the premise. You can enjoy the best lake view in the morning. boat ramp you can do jetski and boat rental at the same place. Nice Restaurant with a great selection of Beer and wine. we spent 3 nights over here and enjoy the fullest. Nice Barbeque and pet-friendly place. McDonald's and taco bell just 4 miles away.

They don't have a first aid kit at reception. even though the wall green is near but they must procure basic medicine. I asked about the Tylenol and they didn't have it.

The bar food is amazing! Could not get enough of the chowder. The room was clean, spacious, and the ice machine was right there..lol.

The only thing I didn't like was the dog barking during the night, and there is no one to call and report it. Should be more strict on the pet owners to watch their pet.
