Diamond Westlake Suites

This one bedroom apartment provided a counterpoint to our Hanoi Old Town experience in the quieter Westlake area. It is a secure compound with key access to the lifts that take you to your apartment. We were at the end of the 2nd floor in Block D and had a lovely view across Westlake. The apartment is quite spacious with a bedroom, bathroom with a bath and shower over the bath, full lounge room and a combined kitchen and laundry. They supplied laundry detergent and we got all our washing done in the combined washing and drying machine. There is also a drying rack on the balcony. The kitchen has a large fridge with freezer, microwave, oven, etc and sufficient utensils to cook and eat with. There is a TV in both the lounge and the bedroom which has lots of options, including Australian and other English speaking options. Despite it being an apartment daily housekeeping was included, which I hadn't expected, so we'd left kitchen a bit messy our first night and found it cleaned up for us. The included breakfast had a nice range of Asian and European options including some cook-on-the-spot dishes that was an excellent start to both our days and we had dinner there one night as well. There is a small market onsite to buy drinks and food to cook if you wish (usually open to 8pm). At reception they were able to offer money exchange for US dollars though not Australian dollars. We enjoyed the onsite pool complex and used the opportunity to walk around Westlake. There is a gate directly out onto the lake but you must ring for security to let you in and out. The Westlake section near the the hotel is quieter and a pleasant walk and there is an interesting carp feeding experience for families very nearby and a very pleasant pagoda in the opposite direction. We did find that taxis sometimes had difficulty finding the place so we asked the hotel to arrange the taxi to the airport for us and that worked well. The staff were always courteous and helpful.

Breakfast was excellent as was the management of the restaurant, staff etc. Staff were very friendly and obviously trained to keep the restaurant clean and tidy at all times. Food at other times was excellent. Situated in a lovely area with plenty of small streets to explore and great French-style cafes. Lovely grounds and a well-stocked mini supermarket on site. This place was a welcome change from the noise and hustle and bustle of the city.

Although I had sent a request when booking for twin beds in one room, this wasn't arranged but an extra bed was found - at extra cost. We were told it would be an extra 800,000 dong then when we came to pay, it was $800,000 dong per night which wasn't made clear. Annoying when we didn't get a reply to our request in the first place.

The property was very clean great facilities Extremely helpful reception staff who went beyond their responsibilities helping to call taxis locate a stolen mobile phone helping us with local queries translating.Thankyou.Great breakfast 2 bedroom apartment really good nice kitchen washing machine TV some English speaking channels.Good free shuttle to town and shopping centres.Very well priced room service and shop.Local shops just down the road.Found an English \Australian bar called the Local about 10 mins walk away

Nothing .I suppose not central but only about 10 minutes in taxi shuttle bus so fine !No corkscrew !

The location was close to the conference I was attending and the room was spacious and had everything needed to cook and even a washing machine with laundry powder which was very convenient.

Not a very walkable location to restaurants and the breakfast although nice, did not have the usual "Western" continental breakfast options but rather a rotating different main meal (like chicken, pasta) which was a bit strange.

although not in the city centre it was a cheap taxi or Grab ride to the city and only 20 mins. but the location and facilities far out way the inconvenience of not having the noise and bustle of the city centre. some decent places to eat just out of the gate but eating and drinking in the hotel also very reasonable. big pool gym etc so couldn’t fault the facilities. the suit was enormous and had everything you would need, except a cork screw😄 Reception staff were amazing my wife forgot her prescription drugs and the receptionist went to the pharmacy bought the medication and we picked them up from reception and paid for them. lots of other great service but this was above and beyond.

it would have been better if there was a physical bar although you can order drinks at the terrace and again prices very reasonable

Very clean and tidy and the 3 bedroom apartment was huge. Included a small kitchen with all the self catering facilities you might need to cook for yourself if you wanted to. Free shuttle bus into town (4x times a day) was great and there are loads of restaurants and shops just outside the main gate. West Lake is very nice in general. This place was exactly what we wanted at the end of our holiday to relax and was awesome value. it’s not luxury but perfectly matched our expectations. we didn’t use the pool but it looked pretty big and clean.

Apartment is a little tired/old in some places but it doesn’t detract from the fact that the place is huge with loads of space.

We chosed this community like accommodation for our first days of our 3 weeks holiday as we wanted a good start in a busy city. If turned out to be the perfect choice! The apartment was super spacious with 2 bathrooms, full equipped kitchen and living room. Great indoor kids room which our 5 year old used everyday. Huge pool area with small slide, nice outdoor playground. Breakfast was great too with many choices. Lots of food options in walking distance but also restaurant in the property is recommendable. Free shuttle to Hanoi Center 4 times a day.

Staff very eager to help. Fresh towels and water bottles every day. A quiet haven away from the chaos of the city yet only a short taxi ride or shuttle away.

Would have been wonderful if they could provide bicycles for children to explore the lake and surrounds. My eight year old was a little small and didn’t feel safe riding bicycles provided so I had to leave him at the apartment and take my youngest child on the back of my bicycle to pick up essentials from local shops.. either that or carry toddler and shopping bags which is much too hot.

Great property, very well maintained Excellent facilities - gym, pool table, pool, garden area, Great breakfast, lots of variety, live counter (coffee & tropical fruits was awesome :)) Great staff; very professional and customer focused

Rooms could be a little more cleaner / better maintained; AC ducts were dusty Elevator on our block was not fully functional Better instructions on how to run the washing machine could have helped (but not a big deal !)

Large apartment with washing machine & fully equipped kitchen. TV in lounge & bedroom. Quiet gated community. Great restaurant with breakfast included. Room service excellent. Great pool area & gardens. Walking around the lake to park & cafes relaxing. Safe area with lots bakeries & coffee shops. Mini mart in complex cheap prices.
