La Berteliere, The Originals Relais (Qualys-Hotel)

Location so lovely and quiet with immaculately kept grounds/garden, yet only 15 mins by car away from the city of Rouen. The restaurant food and service by Yanis was excellent. The breakfast selection was very good. Free parking onsite

If I had to say anything it would be we couldn’t get a beer at 5pm when we came back from visiting the city. It was very hot and the garden is beautifully kept so thought it would have been lovely to enjoy with a cold drink enjoying the surroundings. But the bar wasn’t going to be open for another hour. But was only a minor issue and didn’t spoil our stay at all

we have stayed here many times now on our trip down to Portugal. It is ideally based as it is outside the main city of Rouen and easily accessible from the motorway. Parking is very easy and the beds are some of the best beds I have slept in and I am a total insomniac, so it is so important to me. it is a nice breakfast here as well. The staff at this hotel are excellent and went out of their way to help us in particular Karen and Melanie and we thank you very much for your help during our stay.

The hotel itself is very tired and well in need of a revamp. we have problems in our room with the heating as we could not turn it completely off and it was always hot in the room. We hate hot room and this was one of our major issues, but this will not cause other people a problem, I am sure. We did report the issue and they said it was going to be looked at. also on the last evening we did eat in the restaurant and we also reported a leak from the ceiling which they did say they were going to rectify. I do hope the next time we stay it is all sorted.

The restaurant is excellent, and provides high quality food and a good price. It is very quiet , and the rooms are comfortable with tea and coffee and a Nespresso machine. The breakfast buffet provided and excellent variety of foods. The hotel is very close to the main route from Calais , making it a great stopping point on the way to the Loire Valley, especially as they provide an excellent restaurant.

The rooms can be a bit hot in the summer, and would benefit from air conditioning.

Great location for overnight stay en route to Eurotunnel from the South West of France. Pretty, beautifully maintained small hotel. Lovely gardens. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Very chilled about dogs , we were a family of 5 with three dogs. Would definitely stay again

Everything was more than acceptable. Possibly better quality coffee in bedroom - Nescafé not great and more pods instead would be good. Hot chocolate would be great for bed for all

The receptionist was lovely, spoke very good English and helped us with suggestions for places to visit (which we took her up on). Cant remember her name though, but well done. Rooms we thought were very nice for the money, very comfortable beds, tea a coffee facilities, good free Wi-Fi. Good location to visit Rouen (if you don't mind driving a little way into town, which I prefer and you get a peaceful location and plenty of car parking. Very good continental breakfast available, also with option to boil your own eggs and bacon and scrambled eggs provided cooked although I think a bit expensive as I think to include breakfast added €15 per person per day. Will definitely use again when we next travel in France.

Possibly the separate toilet could of done with a refresh. Cost of breakfast a bit high, should of been about €8-10 I would think.

The reception staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms were all very clean and comfortable with everything one needed. It also has an excellent location close to the motorway. The restaurant was very pleasant and the food selection excellent for adults, l don't think the offer for children was good, but understandably as they probably cater more for the business community.

The only complaint l had was the service provided in the restaurant. The restaurant was understaffed for the number of guests using the restaurant, hence they were flustered, but still managed to provide a level of service that was acceptable but not exceptional.

One of the comfiest bed I have ever slept in, just perfect. Good hotel restaurant.

If you are looking for a hideaway, then it is fine and perfect. But the hotel is really in the middle of nowhere:-)

Grounds are lovely and hotel clean and welcoming. Rooms lovely but we had a dog in a 3 bedroom so hardly any space for her to sleep on her blanket. Warm night and no a/c meant restless night although bed was really comfy. Restuarant meal was lovely and good value plus breakfast was v v good and loads of choice. Would definitely use again and recommend it wholeheartedly

Lack of a/c was ONLY issue but would not stop me coming back

This is an excellent hotel and a perfect stopover on the way to the Channel Tunnel. Clean, friendly, comfortable and in a very quiet area but with easy access to the main Rouen to Calais road. We had room service for dinner as we were tired and didn't want to go in the restaurant. The food was excellent. We have a little dog who was warmly welcomed in the hotel. We will use this hotel again when travelling via Eurotunnel to our house in Spain and/or back to UK.

The only problem had nothing to do with the hotel i.e. travelling across Rouen an a dark winter's night at rush hour when you don't know your way is not for the faint hearted.

The BED. I don’t think I’ve ever slept in a more comfortable bed, it was heaven. The room and bathroom had everything needed (even down to a set of scales), and were exceptionally clean. The staff were professional and efficient. Lovely peaceful location.

I’m really trying to think of something to say! Perhaps the only thing was, there wasn’t quite enough milk on the tea tray for both a cup of tea and a cup of coffee.
