Hôtel Littéraire Gustave Flaubert, BW Signature Collection

The room met my expectations. The hotel is on a street just off the square where the contemporary Joan of Arc church and execution site is. It was reasonably close to the cathedral and the Joan of Arc museum. It was also reasonably close to the river. I didn't chose the breakfast option so I cannot comment on it.

I had no issue with the hotel is was absolutely fine. My room did not have air-conditioning. I knew this before I arrived. If it had been hot weather this may have been a problem. I visited in July and it was between 21 and 23 degrees celsius. The room was OK at this temperature.

Perfect place to stay in Rouen!♥️ Comfortable room, clean and quiet (which is super cool comparing to some other places in historic city centres where you can hear everything happening in rooms nearby). A/C is definitely a plus in the summer. Hotel is dedicated to Gustave Flaubert and you can see it on each step - really nice and interesting. Breakfast has relatively small choice but definitely enough to start your day and is more than just a coffe with croissant😁 5 minutes walk from the main Cathedral and other sightseeing places.

Everything was perfect. Just note that the address in automated booking is incorrect (house number is 33 and not 15). So either Google the hotel by name or call the reception and they will help you

The location was brilliant, right in the centre. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was great, a good size, well decorated and very comfortable. The only problem was the heat. We were warned that the air-con was not working and then staff did everything they could to alleviate the problem - lots of water to drink - a very good cooling fan etc. Breakfast was very good. A lovely selection, nicely presented and much of it local produce. On the face of it , it may have seemed expensive, but compared to what was on offer in other local places it turned out to ve very good value.

The heat was the greatest problem without air-con. It was unlucky that we hit the biggest heat wave in many years! However we had been warned that the AC was not working and so we did risk it. The parking would have been easier if it had been on site, but the public parking was reasonably close and we did get a discount. We had a balcony which was very nice but it was difficult for my wife, who is not very tall to get out over the guttering which went obstructed the door.

Loved this hotel, being themed around Gustav Flaubert made it a touch different and offered a classy insight into one of the more famous former residents of Rouen. The staff were really helpful, the room was lovely and comfy, the breakfast was great too. The only thing I wished could have been provided was decaff options for the tea and coffee. The location is brilliant, a stone's throw from the old market square and then on from there to all the sights. I have already recommended it to someone else.

Pleasant 1 night stay in the city centre giving easy access to the restaurants and old town in the evening. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment

We were told they now had a car park at the property so advance booked a spot. When we tried to get to the hotel, we found it was in a pedestrian zone with bollards and had no idea how to get past these to the hotel so ended up parking in a close underground public car park and taking our luggage. Had we realised this might be a possibility, we would have packed a light bag for the night.

The hotel is situated smack in the middle of old Rouen and it was amazing. You walk out the door and are surrounded by beautiful old buildings and lively restaurants and bars and friendly people. The hotel is in a quiet side street off the old market place and it’s a perfect location. The breakfast was an eye opener if there ever was one. In France I never expect a sumptuous spread because it’s not their custom but here we were treated with an outstanding buffet and everything fresh. I loved the emphasis on sustainability too. Nothing was packed in plastic and you could pick your own portions of everything. Sitting was inside and out and very lovely. A ten goes to the staff who made our stay perfect. I didn’t have such a wonderful stay in a hotel in a long time. Really special!

I cannot mention anything negative at all. Even rebuilding the air conditioning system which is happening at the moment and necessary in these times is done with a minimum of disturbance for the guests and a maximum of trying to make the guests comfortable.

Location, cleanliness, staff were all great. We didn't have breakfast but it looked good. The rooms were decorated with personal charm.

There was the possibility of not having a room when we arrived. They were experiencing problems with booking.com. I booked a month in advance. Fortunately someone canceled, so we got a room. I was not happy to have problems right at the beginning as I was hosting this trip for others. Also I was not told that construction was happening at the hotel. I would have gone elsewhere if I had known.

Just off the main square is the delightful hotel. Chosen mainly as a pet friendly hotel the staff were very warm to my dog. We were also given a local sweet which was nice to get into the spirit of this ancient town. The room is nice with a lovely style and design with all the usual facilities. The receptionist was very nice and offered us a free coffee while we waited for the taxi she ordered as Uber was useless in the area.

The window had no views but wasnt needed for this trip

1. Breakfast was excellent. It has a wide selection of local products such as cheese, ham, cakes, pastry, yoghurt, Kusami tea and fruit juice. 2. Excellent location - only 10 min walk from Rouen train station and 10 min walk from the cathedral. It's next to the main market square so there are many restaurants nearby. It's buzzing at night outside yet you don't hear any noise in your room. All the museums and attractions are within walking distance (10-15 min). 3. The room is clean and has character. The bed is very comfortable - in fact it's the most comfortable bed of all my hotel stays. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a gift shop area offering highly quality local products and souvenirs at competitive prices. In fact it's cheaper than the local artisan gift shops and some local produce like Madam Bovary cider and bissap juice cannot be found elsewhere. Good of the hotel to support local producers. Will stay here again!

our room overlooked the courtyard and was quiet. Well except for our neighbors who didn't realize that you should hold the room door when leaving so it would not slam at all hours for the day and night. No fault of the hotel. The room was small but had enough room for what we needed. Clean with comfy bed. Loved the location!

Soundproofing between rooms as noted if neighbors are frequently leaving room and slamming door all hours.
