Hotel Dandy Rouen centre

Charming room in the eaves with rooftop view of Old Rouen. Up in a tiny lift then stairs from the 4th to 5th floor. Bathroom facilities good, though easier to take a bath than a shower. Excellent location for exploring the historic centre. We didn't have the breakfast, but used the carpark, which was a little cheaper than the nearest public one - you had to call the hotel for access, as it is underground and locked.

Electrical equipment in the room - heater, kettle - didn't work properly, although we were able to make tea, and the room wasn't cold.

Great price and a good location in the centre at a very good price. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very quiet despite facing a busy, and lively (especially at night) street with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby - a great variety of each all seemingly with friendly, helpful staff. Pretty much all of the major sights are no more than about 15 minutes walk away. If arriving by car I'd recommend the parking at 'Le Vieux Marché' - it's only a couple of minutes from the pedestrian access to the hotel; just watch out to your left when you get close to the bars - there's a bit of tight turn that might be easy to miss and you might worry you're about to drive into a pedestrian zone!

The hotel is located in a very convenient position to visit the city, and in a rather picturesque street with a nice view (we were on the fourth floor, though).

Even though the hotel is in a very nice position, this brings up two problems: one is parking, you have to look for parking in a very busy part of town, and it can get tricky. The second is that unfortunately it can be rather noisy since in the street below there are numerous cafés, bars and restaurants which go on open until very late, with somewhat rowdy customers. If you close all the windows it gets better, but there being no air conditioning, you have to decide between a hot room and a noisy one (talking about summer, obviously). The bathroom could use some renovation.

Reception staff very amiable and helpful. Lovely quiet room across a little enclosed walkway designated as the annex to the hotel, spacious bathroom and very comfortable double bed. I was very pleased with the facilities, proper table & two chairs which was very handy and lots of room in cupboard & chest of drawers to hang clothes.

An electric kettle in room perhaps & better lighting across stairs at night, ie an automatic sensor. But otherwise everything excellent and very glad we chose this hotel.

Very well located, walking distance to/from the train station and near the Vieux Marché area. The hotel staff was extremely polite, we arrived ahead of the check-in hours and they let us leave our luggage so that we could go for a tour of the city. You can find many bars and restaurants at walking distance.

Lovely little hotel on mostly-pedestrian street Rue Cauchoise. The staff speaks English & very gracious! They have 3 parking spaces in a parking structure right around the corner from the hotel (be sure to reserve in advance!) comfortable room and bed. Breakfast is offered for 12€, but we had places to go and sights to see so we passed. But I would def stay again, highly recommend!

Well situated in the city centre, the Dandy hotel has personality. Excellent bathroom-apart from the sink tap opening anti-clockwise. Comfortable and spacious. Breakfast with table cloth and individual toaster. Nice choice of teas.

While I was delighted to have a kettle in the room, there were few teabags and sad sticks of damp sugar

it’s a small family hotel, well run and very clean, the rooms are very quaint and bed is very comfortable! Bathroom spacious but shower needs updating!! it’s good value fir money staff are helpful!

the front rooms overlook the street and can be noisy at night, best to have a back room if possible!

This hotel has character. I really enjoyed staying here. It was close to a pleasant quartier and it was also quite close to the train station. If I visit Rouen again I would like to stay in this hotel again.

Although the bed was comfortable enough and I got a good nights rest the mattress was a tad soft and saggy...I would have preferred a firmer mattress.

Brilliant location, everything was in walking distance. The staff very helpful and friendly. Comfortable beds made every day and no problems with the room and shower. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of cold foods.
