Hotel Trueba

This hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of value for money. The room was great, lots of light and a short walk from the surf beach (about 9 minutes) and a good walk from the main beach (about 15 minutes). The front desk was very helpful with our questions about the bus station, even after we had checked-out of the hotel. We had complimentary waters and pop in our fridge which was also a treat, as well as complimentary coffee every morning on the floor. Easily accessible (off one of the main bridges). We had keycodes instead of keys which made it much more convenient going to the beach (no card to worry about losing).

The beds were not amazing but the black out curtains and working AC compensated for it. We still managed a good nights rest. The main thing about the bed is that they did not have proper douvet covers, but rather two sheets that they put the duvet inside of.

I loved the room itself - big windows with french balconies. Super cute. There is a fridge in the room with complimentary refreshments (water and non alcohol beverage). There is a shared station in the corridor for tea and coffee, there is also water.

I would have loved if there were also plates available for use in the common area and perhaps a toaster or microwave to make yourself a quick snack in the morning or other time, I personally get too tired to eat out for every meal. With this option this place would be good for a longer stay as well.

This is a lovely small boutique place with spacious room and just enough facilities (no breakfast but coffee and tea are available) for a comfortable stay. It's new and clean and most importantly quiet, even though our room was looking into a busy street. Check-in can be done online and the room is accessed by code, so even though reception closes at 4pm, you can enter your room at any time. It's ten minutes walking from the old town and all the pincho bars, but there's plenty of bars and restaurants in the area as well. We would definitely come back.

we liked everything

Our room was beautiful- we loved the Juliet balcony. Complimentary cold beverages in the mini fridge and a good coffee machine down the hall were welcoming! Nice workspace provided - though we didn’t use - we saw several people making use. We arrived late but the staff made our after hours entry very easy. Location in Gros was perfect - walkable to everything. Even parking was easy! Would definitely return.

San Sebastián is expensive - but we found this hotel to be a good value for all it offered.

A nice little hotel situated on one floor of a building. Though the staff, apart from cleaners, only work from mid morning to afternoon, they are always available on WhatsApp. The location is excellent, specially if you are attending the film festival. In a small part of the hotel there is a seating area, coffee machine, kettle and tea bags, toaster and a fridge well stocked at all times with mineral water bottles and soft drinks, all free.

Like all other budget hotels in San Sebastian the rooms are rather small and the cost relatively high.

I like several things about this hotel - it exceeded my expectations. It is located in a trendy neighbourhood of San Sebastian - called Gros - full of wonderful restaurants. It is very close to the beach - 2 mins walk. You can reach the old town in a 15 mins walk on the beach promenada. I also liked the coffee / tea facilities on the floor and the free 'fridge' with water and refreshments. Very cool idea. The showet gel / soap / body cream had also a very nice perfume.

The room size was pretty small, but in the end you do not spend so much time in the room - so it does not really matter. The same with the size of the TV - but again, we did not have time to watch tv, this is not the reason why we go to Donostia :)

Hotel very centrally located , loved the concept of having a coffee making machine on the corridor which made lovely coffee, fridge also on corridor where there was complimentary water and can of soda, lovely touch, rooms were large, comfy beds and large bathroom

We had asked for a sea view but we did not realise that the hotel had no sea views, I was sure that the description of the hotel said there was sea views, it is a small boutique hotel with 10 rooms, it has a small reception area and then one floor with the 10 rooms on that floor, so was different from the hotels we normally visit

The receptionist, whose name escapes me, was extremely professional and genuinely helpful. The housekeeper also kept everything top notch, clean and tidy despite having to deal with 3 boys. This hotel has free coffee and soft drinks which is a great addition.

The reception is not manned 24/7 although there are facilities to call a number if required. I believe that a 24/7 reception would give the property more of a hotel feeling.

This is a little hidden gem! Ane and all her colleagues were a pleasure to deal with. The rooms are really lovely and coffee, tea and cold drinks available as well as a little lounge/dining area to have takeaway if you don’t want to eat out all the time. Highly recommend. Great shower pressure. Easy to sleep on a comfortable bed and sooo quiet!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

The welcome was very nice. The guy spoke English so we didn’t miss out on any information. The hotel is beautiful, modern and the atmosphere feels welcoming. The room was clean, exactly as on the pictures. Nice common room with provided tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge.

The street is very loud so it is not really possible to sleep with an open window. It is important to expect this but one can turn an eye on this.
