One Shot Tabakalera House

Amazing hotel, very chic and stylish, love how they are trying to be more sustainable- you have to try the breakfast in jars concept! Staff were lovely, bed was super comfy and very large room. About 20 mins to walk into the old town and the beach, right next door to the train station too. We loved the hotel and San Sebastián so much we tried to extend our stay but sadly due to the film festival there was no space.

My only feedback was it was the only hotel we stayed at across our travel trip in France/Spain that didn’t provide us with free water bottles (we had to pay for them in the mini bar). However the water from the two tasted fine so wasn’t an issue - just an observation

Lovely design led hotel. Lovely king size bed, very comfortable with good quality bedlinen. Bathroom well equipped with cosy bath towels, rain shower and great products.

No kettle for hot drinks and no information regarding reception telephone no and check out times etc.

The welcome at the reception desk was very friendly ; the lady at the front desk provided a lot of useful information (amongst other on where to find restaurants with good vegetarian options for our daughters). When we reported that one of our car windows was smashed in the nearby parking the morning we were leaving, the same lady at the front desk went to great lengths to help us out. She contacted the local police and tracked down the person in charge of the car park (who was very hard to find on a Sunday). Next to that, she helped us get hold of a vacuum cleaner to clean up all the glass particles inside the car. She deserves a medal. In short, I would say that if things are good, you are well off in the hands of the Tabakalera hotel staff ; if things go bad, you are also well off in their hands. And the rooms are fine also, by the way, as is the breakfast-in-individual-jars.

Only thing i can mention is the sound isolation of the rooms is not perfect, but not to the extent it becomes an issue. And the hotel entrance is a bit hidden next to one of the entrances of the Tabakalera House.

OST is located immediately next to the train station which was ideal given we travelled from Barcelona to San Sebastián by train. The hotel was immaculately clean, our room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. It is some distance from the Old Town but it’s a comfortable and pleasant walk beside the river to get to the beach, bars and restaurants. The arrangement for breakfast is unusual and quirky but it works !!!

My only improvement suggestion is that some information could be provided in the room re the reception number, breakfast time etc.

The hotel is very nice, though a bit hard to find at first, as it is tucked in at the side of the Tabakalera cultural center. The furnishings are industrial and sleek. Very comfy beds and soft pillows. The hotel breakfast is excellent, but if you do not feel like spending that much, there is a coffee shop in the Tabakalera center with excellent coffee and pastries and nice staff. The hotel is meters away from the bus terminal and from the railway station, and 20-30 min by taxi from the SanSebastian airport (as of the time of this review Uber or Bolt do not operate in Donostia). The hotel is also very close to the Maria Christina bridge that takes you to the city center and further to the old town and the beaches.

We notified reception that the bathroom sliding door was off the track, but it has not been reset in the three days we spent at the hotel.

The overall impression of the hotel is very good. Location is fine as well, all of town within walking distance. Overall the room was quite large, clean and with great air conditioning. No sound is heard within the room and the bed is very nice. Outstanding personnel, especially Ane, which helped us a lot finding the best restaurants and places to go. Great hotel, would definitely go again when visiting Donostia.

The cleaning team forgot two cleaning cloths in our bathroom, also forgot the towels once. Breakfast was quite expensive. Parking is not included but you can arrange discount for the parking garage (being approx 17 eu a day)

The bed was one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in!

Breakfast was quite expensive, and there wasn’t much natural light as the windows were so small.

Beautiful and stylish hotel, set in a former tobacco factory that now hosts a cultural centre with exhibitions, concerts and a stunning rooftop restaurant. The room was spacious and very comfortable; appreciated the completeness of toiletry products, which has become rare in most hotels these days. The best though was the kind and friendly staff! Location is just beside the train station, few minutes walk to San Sebastians old town.

For the price paid, it would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room and at least a bottle of water. Also, the hotel has a small gym and sauna in the basement. The latter is not free of charge, a tad peculiar for the price one pays for the accommodation.

The hotel is part of a cultural center with the same name, known across the city, so it is really easy to ask for directions to the hotel, if you get lost, which we did on the first night! We walked everywhere. To Gros it was about 15-20min walking and to the old town we took about 30min, if walking slowly and admiring the views. So location wise we were pretty happy 😊

Not much not to like! Maybe the fact that we didn't find out where the restaurant was until the last day of our stay (but we didn't ask!). This was not a huge problem as we came for the pintxos anyway!

Nice and modern rooms, cool that the hotel is part of the Tabakalera building, super convenient for getting to the train station (the entrance to the station is literally around the corner) so was great for catching an early train to Barcelona. I thought it was much better value for money than most of the places that I looked at in the Old town

It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to most bars/restaurants in Gros and about 15-20 minute walk to places in the Old Town; but I knew that when booking and chose the convenience of staying near the train station
