Welcome Gros Hotel

Great location, lots of restaurants and shops and a short walk over to the old town or bus station. The staff on reception were really friendly and helpful. Check-in and out were easy and we were able to leave our bags in a secure location after checkout. Room was nice and clean and it was lovely to be able to open the balcony doors. I'm glad we got the larger room as this is a good size and gives you space to move around and to put your suitcases. Coffee and muffins downstairs were appreciated!

Would be nice if the TV had the option to login to Netflix/other services but this does seem to be quite rare in Spain compared to hotels in other European countries I've stayed. The toilet is in between two walls and I think larger build people would struggle to comfortably sit there!

WelcomeGros Hotel the location is fantastic, Santa Katalina bridge is near by, easy walk to bus, train or city bus station, also to all three beaches and old town, I enjoyed all the nice shops and Basque specialty foods. The hotel is very new and room is spotless clean, large bathrooms, good shower with nice tub, staff are extremely helpful and provide excellent services, we stored our luggage for two hours after checkout, they have very nice luggage storage room. We love Gros neighborhood and highly recommend anyone to stay here.

We really liked staying at the hotel and the character filled room was very comfortable, clean with a great large bathroom. The front desk lady was extremely helpful and friendly. All correspondence with the hotel was very professional. We had booked the hotel for its closeness to the main railway station and it was a good location for visiting the old town, beach & shops but also good for catching our early morning train.

The hotel had basic facilities with no breakfast available but had a free coffee station in the foyer which included free muffins.

Small but nice and well maintained room (No. 3), all renovated, with comfortable large beds, and with a window to a courtyard, so absolutely quiet. Very nice bathroom with a large and well-working shower. Easy check-in with access codes for the front door and room door (the reception is not staffed all the time). Easy communication with staff via WhatsApp. Free coffee in the lobby. Real value for money.

Not really anything to complain. Not in the old town, where all the life is - but then not in the old town where all the noise is.

we originally booked room with internal window but upgraded to room with balcony for 2 nights. what a lovely room it was. big room, clean, comfortable bed and pillows, soft sheets and towels, balcony was good for people watching. air con worked well, good Wi-Fi. free coffee and breakfast muffins. staff were polite and friendly, easy access, close to train, bus, beach, cafes and old town just over the River.

the doors bang very easily when closing them, so can hear other guests arriving to their rooms

I liked the location of the hotel. The room was nice but very small. The bed very comfortable. The staff helpful. The lobby of the hotel was very bright and modern. There was a coffee machine with free coffee and water. There were small snacks as well. A small fridge in the room.

Very small room and bathroom. Not very good insulation of the door.

Very clean and comfortable. Close to everything but far enough away to be quiet. Provided an iron on request, with no problem. Good advice from the staff. Great to have a 12 noon check out and a place to leave luggage after checkout. Free coffee and muffin a pleasant surprise bonus.

Good location near the bus and train stations. Short 5 minutes walk to Zurriola Beach and 10-15 minutes to La Concha Beach.

Route to hotel from bus station was a bit confusing as I went down the wrong side of Iztueta Kalea and took a round about route to hotel, but once I found hotel it was easy to return to it. Early check-in time.

Amazing location, close to all the important places, bars, reataurants and especially to the Zurriola beach. Very nice design, clean and well organized. Easy to check-in. The coffee machine and the brioches from the lobby are a nice touch.

The pillar exactly in the middle of the bathroom is very strange because you have to go around it all the time 😄

- The room was a lot pricier than similar rooms we stayed at in Spain - The walls of the room were poorly insulated. We could hear the noisy couple next door! - The hotel is not far from a railway line, so there is occasional noise from trains
