I love historic houses & heritage buildings so on entering up the driveway & seeing a substantial & significant 1904 built Victorian / Edwardian mansion standing proud up high over Bathurst I was instantly impressed. Originally a family home the Guesthouse also operated as St Joseph's Orphanage from 1915 - 1975 and welcoming old religious statuary of Jesus & the Virgin Mary mounted on pedestals greet guests in the front garden. The side wing of the building formerly housed a Catholic Chapel on the second floor. Spectacular views out over Bathurst from the long iron lace decorated upper-level verandah. Beds were comfortable. Good safe off-street parking available. Very quiet location.

Although the single bed I had in room 12 was comfortable & clean it could have been a little higher off the floor. The hot water in the shower took a little time to get hot which is understandable for a rambling old building which would have lots of old plumbing and for me wasn't that much of an issue & tolerable for the experience to stay in a Bathurst heritage icon.

I stayed 2 nights with my friend. We really enjoyed the gorgeous architecture and vibe of the guest house. It's was super lovely to walk around the 120 year old building and it's garden. The reception and lounge rooms were filled with beautiful antique furniture. The staff were lovely and very approachable and the other guests were very friendly. It was only a 20-25 minute walk to town.

OK. So this was more like a hostel than a guesthouse. It is in a lovely old building which was in itself fun and interesting. It is in its early days of operation and will no doubt develop over time. For now it would not be for everyone, but if you had a group of friends who wanted to share time out of your rooms there are communal areas and verandahs, including some with superb views over the town and countryside.

Great location for us; Robyn was very polite and helpful; the room was clean; there were plenty of shared bathrooms, toilets and kitchens, all kept clean and tidy; even though the property was nearly full, we had no issues accessing the shared resources. You can safely ignore the troll reviews, which turn out to be from one person (and their partner) who tried to cancel at the last minute and lost their mind when refused a refund

Nice old home. My youngest son had asthma, but thanks to Robyn for putting us into a room that has no carpet. Also, the room had more space for us families of five no air-conditioning, but Robyn gave us the second fans. The owner and her partner are lovely, bathroom, kitchen are clean

Nothing that I didn't like it. Everything looks great anyway

Beautiful setting, comfortable clean room. Good bathroom facilities with many toilets and several showers. Fridges for any food etc to use. Plenty of cleaning products in the kitchen for washing up. Verandahs were gorgeous and had amazing views. Would have loved to have had the time to sit out there and read. Overall a very positive experience.

It’s a beautiful heritage house. We were a group of 3 women who came to see a performance at the Bathurst Entertainment Centre. It was perfect for us to be able to use the full kitchen facilities for our dinner and breakfast. It was so peaceful and the hosts are very kind and helpful ☺️

Clean and Comfy rooms, great facilities in kitchen area and being able to use the deck to enjoy the views. Our room was air-conditioned which was lovely.

Nothing I didn't really like, maybe some of the showers need some TLC but that's just being picky.

Location to the race track and was only a short walk to pubs etc for dinner

Tape washers need replacing in showers as on dripped continuously and most others were very hard to control water temperature.

Welcoming and very helpful staff. We got locked out of our room with 4 kids at 9pm and Robyn was there in just a few minutes to help us! We also left some toys in the bed and she messaged us straight away to let us know. There were some fruit pickers also staying in nearby accommodation. They were all wonderful and very helpful when it came to being locked out of the room. The shared bathroom was clean, the other guests were polite and friendly and the ambience was great for a family. Overall an excellent stay.
