The Brunswick, Brunswick Heads

An old style motel beautifully upgraded. Rooms were light, airy and clean. The bed was fabulous and the lounge areas were a great place to relax with very reasonably prices drinks from the mini bar or poolside bar. Staff were lovely. Although we didn't make use of them this time, the complimentary bicycles are a great idea for getting around.

The indoor lounge areas are closed and locked at 5pm which seems a bit early for a holiday setting although it was warm enough to continue to sit outside at the poolside table. Bathroom arrangement is a bit awkward with the shower/toilet in a quite narrow space and the basin in the main room but that's understandable given the age of the building. Overall the owners have done a great job refurbishing the rooms.

Was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and style of the property. It has been very tastefully fitted out and provides really pleasant spaces to work or relax both inside the room as well as some outside common spaces. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful and the daily housekeeping was top notch. The location is very good and in walking distance of all the necessary attractions of Brunswick Heads.

Having moved to this property from a self contained cabin in a nearby caravan park I missed the ability to prepare and eat meals in the room. A microwave, crockery and cutlery would make this a must stay place for me. The daily rate was high but it was a last minute booking and and the town was full so can't complain.

Exceptionally clean with lovely decorating, beachy boho style. Our room opened on to the lovely pool, which was a bonus, and lovely to sit outside in the chairs provided. It was just a short walk to town to some excellent restaurants, and the Hotel. Parking in front of our door literally.

The small fridge had no freezer, and we had to take most things out to fit in our water and drinks. There needs to be more cupboards...under the hanging space for clothes would be ideal for a long bench of cupboard space for clothes for anyone staying longer than one night. Otherwise you literally have to live out of your suitcase. The sink is outside the bathroom, so just expect that.

We liked that the staff accommodated all our requests and even made some suggestions to us that enhanced our stay. We highly recommend the position. It was very easy to access cafes and restaurants by walking directly to them or by wandering into town via the river bank. Accommodation and facilities were exactly as described in their advertisement.

Because we stayed for 7 nights it would be good if the room had included a couple of easy chairs for lounging in.

Communication from administration to remind me of the time difference-daylight savings came in handy. The information explaining a/h key lock where to locate on my arrival. Where my room was located was tops! Comfy as bed. The room was cooled enough. Ceiling fan for night comfort. Clean and comfortable to rest. Location was great for me. Easy access in and out.

I didn't come prepared so no welcome free cookie to go with my cuppa after my long journey. The choco was nice that's for sure ... You pay for everything from a delishes basket - local which is supportive. If I hadn't read the pamphlet. The shower base was slippery when I walked in and almost slipped, fast thinker! Bit of a surprise.

Room was clean and fresh with a modern contemporary feel. We ordered coffees everyday from the hotel, it was great coffee and we sat out on the common balcony area which had a beautiful outdoor setting. Staff were so friendly and the outdoor pool setting with lounge chairs and cocktails by the pool was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

There really wasn't anything that could have been better. Despite not having room service, the staff gave lots of great suggestions for meals at some of the local restaurants (all within walking distance).

The staff was top notch and the room was perfect for a single person traveling across Australia. The hotel was close to downtown and beaches, I walked everywhere without any issues. I would absolutely stay here again!

I would highly recommend reserving directly through the hotel and not booking.com. The reception closes at 6pm and unfortunately I got in at 7pm. If you book directly with the Brunswick, they will work with you if you get in late. Through booking.com, they don’t have any of your contact information so they can’t reach you and you can’t reach them. I was able to find another place to stay for the evening (and the Brunswick staff kindly refunded me) but I would not recommend others book through this website so to prevent this hiccup. Again, big thanks to the staff for all their help and kindness!

the bedrooms are minimally decorated but very tasteful and have all you’d need. the beds are the absolute best! so lush to sleep in. lovely soaps and shampoo etc. great and unusual array of mini bar items. the pool area is simple but lovely. we loved the various areas they have set up to meet and relax outside the rooms. the best part for us was that after you check out they will store your bags and you can use the facilities all day. we stayed for nearly a full day (til about 4.30) and enjoyed being around the pool, as our flights weren’t until late. such a wonderful extra. the lady on reception was just wonderful/ nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend! thank you for such a gorgeous weekend

We adored the room, the shower, the bed and the pool. Bed was ridiculously comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful, professional & welcoming. We were sad we could only stay for 2 nights and already discussing our return! We loved the bar area, mini bar had a fantastic selection, and the complimentary use of paddleboards and bikes is brilliant! Wish we had more time to enjoy them! Next time!!!! Very clean rooms and super comfy bed. The location is perfect for a walk into town or to the beach .

We ordered a seafood platter on our arrival, consisting of one dozen oysters and half a kilo of prawns. Unfortunately the prawns weren’t edible, slimy, odd colour and looked uncooked. The staff were very upfront when serving them though and gave us the choice to eat them it not. We chose not to risk our health. They still charged us half the price for the dozen oysters. We thought that as our platter was ruined and we’d bought champagne for the occasion we shouldn’t have been charged at all.
