This is a retro motel, and though the rooms were a bit tired, with the exception of a microwave, there was everything else we needed. The shower was surprisingly good - lots of hot water, very powerful :). Rooms were clean, and the staff are friendly. Check-in and check-out is super-easy. It's a short walk to Albury town, if you want excellent shops, and there is an Aldi and a Farm Market right across the road. I'm a Brit, and the place gave me 'Butlin's Holiday Camp' vibes, in a good way. Recommended for a short, comfortable, cost-effective stay.

A microwave and maybe a couple of plates would have been good.

When I saw the laundry sign I went down and put my clothes in washing machine went back down 45mins later and was confronted by this ASIAN LADY abusing me no matter how much I apologized like 5 times she just keep with the abuse then I noticed my clothes in a basket soaking wet and she wouldn't let me put my small load in the dryer me being Ex Military (15) I just about told her I was going to put on a slow boat back to China but held my tongue and ringed out the clothes and turned my room into Chinese Laundry So observing this lady she seemed to be a manager of some sort as she talked down to her staff and ordered bloody Hitler all over again I know if I was the GM she would be terminated from any future employment she is what would influence your profit margins and lose clientele it was the only bad taste in my mouth from my stay otherwise it was great Thanks Steve (sorry this was supposed in section underneath) 😁

So this is what I did like my stay was very peaceful the Chicken Parmi was excellent and the bar staff in public bar we're great thanks Steve 😁

Conveniently located and a reasonable walk to the Albury railway station. Plenty of choices for food if you choose to go off-site. The room was clean and comfortable. This room was on the ground level and was similar to one upstairs, where we stayed a couple of years ago. The shower itself was a great size and hot water great. Toiletries supplied were of a nice quality.

The only disadvantage to this setup is the lack of a basin in the actual bathroom area. It's not a deal breaker given that we stayed there before and were aware of how the room is set out. As a tea drinker and someone who enjoys my tea, I would prefer mugs rather than the tiny cups supplied.

Stayed here for two nights. I used to live in Albury but came back for a little vacation. This hotel is very good for those who want value for money and a good location. You get of the train and it’s like less than a 10 minute walk to the hotel but also that same distance from the shops. The bedrooms are small but I kind of loved that as a solo traveller. Staff where nice and friendly and the way the building is painted design just makes you feel happy. I love the pink walls as I go to my room. It’s also literally so close to a subway, Harris farm market and Aldi as well as little takeaway shops. The restaurant also serves amazing food. Overall give this hotel a try , you actually get allot and it’s budget friendly. If you have never been to Albury before as a ex local, book this one.

Situated in a good location. The room is spacious and provides most of the basics like shower gel and shampoo, towels, also tea, coffee , water, milk, etc. Beds are pretty comfortable.

The day we arrived was very hot and the air conditioning is very old so it takes a long time to cool down the room. Also not sure why we closed the window in the bathroom but it still has many small insects coming through. The bathroom doesn't have a fan and the hand soap dispenser keeps dropping...

The photos of the rooms don't do them justice. They are really cosy. The pub attached to the hotel had excellent meals as well. I was there for a whole week, and having the kettle and fridge etc meant I could also make my own simple meals. Close to Aldi, takeaway and the Albury hospital.

If you put a microwave in the room, you would have a great budget long term stay, especially for people in town to visit people staying in the Albury hospital.

The room was clean and adequate enough for our stay. We were out all day, so we really didn't need much room. For the money that we paid the Astor was a fair price for what we received. Food and drinks at the pub were beautiful. Great Menu.

We couldn't always get a park out the front of the rooms. We didn't really like parking out the back. I think maybe Patrons dining at the pub were taking the parking spots.

-I like there is a grocery shop aldi near astor, so it's really easy to shop. -There's also some good restaurants nearby such as Subway, Rooast dinner -Mini Kitchen - Has a sink, fridge (only missing microwave) -Free wifi, TV

-The location is far from the main albury centre if you're walking. -The lighting in the room was not as bright as i like. -The window is see through. I like to open the window in the morning, but it is see through, so I have to close it

Great location, comfortable for an overnight stay. Nice refurb retro hotel/motel. Facilities at hotel were convenient and offered great choices. Checking in and out was straightforward.

Requested a ground floor room (due to knee op) received message from hotel confirming they could accommodate. Unfortunately, this was not the case on arrival - we were given a second floor room. The room was right at the end next to the bright lights of their hotel sign, which shone through the window all night.

The Astor is a good basic motel, clean and tidy and perfect for an Albury stopover. It has a terrific colourful retro facade which outshines all the ordinary brown brick motels in the area. Having the restaurant and bar on site is a bonus, but only a few minutes' drive into town. Although it's an easy walk and a chance to visit some op shops on the way! Not everyone's thing, I know.

It is a basic room with no bathroom vanity or basin, but not such a problem to wash hands, clean teeth etc in the basin in the main room. It's not priced as luxury and I'm sure people understand that. I rarely travel with a hairdryer nowadays because all accommodation, even the most humble, have one. But the Astor doesn't, which was a bit of a surprise. It's an item the owners could supply very cheaply and would be appreciated by those of us who have the expectation it will be supplied.
