The property was in a good location, 15 minute walk from the station, 10 minute walk into the main stretch of shops and bars, right next to Aldi. The room was cleaned and comfortable with a kettle, tea and coffee provided, a fridge, tv, towels and air con. The staff were really friendly and helpful- special mention to Jane who drove us to catch our train the next day and helped us with our luggage.

The rooms are directly above a pub so as to be expected there is some noise that travels up especially at closing time around 3am. This didn’t particularly disturb us but is something to consider if you are a light sleeper.

Staff were super friendly, it was great value for money, comfy beds and good air conditioning. Would come again as it's not too far from anything as long as you don't mind a little walk. Everything was nice and clean, and the shower pressure was good

Wet patch outside mens bathroom/someone's room. It was easy to step over but the first time on it was a shock to my socks haha. Can hear noise from bar but this is to be expected when staying above one. This is just to travellers who do want a certain amount of quiet, for us its not a huge issue

Great location given the price range as well as super clean. Being very basic, it is not a room you would like to spend much time in. Sitting above the pub it was quiet due to early closure Sun and Mon. Would not book it for Fri and Sat nights if you are a light sleeper. Shared facilities (though we did not use them) looked very clean.

Could have at least a basic bedside table lamp. Oh, and something resembling a wardrobe. There was not a single piece of furniture for clothes. Walls are very thin as this is an old building.

After such a long drive arriving after 10pm it was truly nice to be received warmly, there was no held up during check in and went smoothly. The receiving staff took us personally to our room. As it was a Friday night and pub was busy it was good to know that access to the rooms above are secured and doors only will open with the key given to us. The room is clean. Booked the family suite that has 2 singles and a double bed, this room has its own shower/ toilet although across our room there is also a shared toilet/ shower facility. Has an outdoor area too. Location is amazing. Walking distance to beautiful Darby Street and Newcastle CBD/ Harbour. The beautiful area of this pub motel is surrounded by beautiful architecture.

It is a given that there will be the expected noise being a pub motel that shuts very late but it’s the vacuuming so early in the morning that was quite disturbing. There is also a store room just next to our room that was being accessed quite early in the morning and that disturbed our sleep too. Other than this, happy with our stay.

The staff was very helpful; the hote is located in the downtown that gives accessibility to all good restaurants, malls, pubs etc - it has got it’s own restaurant and pub as well. The room and the bathroom were clean. Overall it is a good value for money

Feedback I have provided to the hotel - >some Pillow covers were not clean, ac had some strange odour, else everything was good. And the entrance - you have to go through the pub 😀. Personal preference completely, but some people might find it interesting 😀

Check in process was easy and the staff were very helpful. Offered assistance with luggage and also walked me to my room. The place is a little older and quite basic but large rooms and very clean. Beer was cold and food was great! At this price point, this place is awesome.

Frosted glass window on the external facing door could do with a blind as it let in a lot of light. Easily fixed with a blanket during my stay.. 🙂

The value for money is very good. The water pressure for showering is exceptional. The food was very nice. The memorabilia in the bar is most interesting with historical beer poster adds throughout the complex.

There was an annoying rattling noise for most of the night. Whether it be a compressor or door I do not know. Otherwise all else good.

- the shared bathrooms were really clean and had heaps of space to put your stuff (hooks, benches, etc) - good location close to everything we needed - staff were friendly - could order food from downstairs and eat in the room - didn’t hear any noise considering the pub is downstairs - free cold water on tap at the bar

Great restaurant and location. Comfy bed and very clean modern ensuite.

The noise from the bar until 3am. I was warned by the staff and it was a Saturday night. I slept early as I had been driving for 3 days and the noise from the var woke me a few times. Luckily I was too tired and slept through it. But next tome I will bring ear plugs. Also the body wash dispenser was broken.

We booked a room for a night for our family of four on our road trip through Newcastle. A great stay with a friendly atmosphere and very clean. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the pub downstairs. Loved the old school pub/hotel atmosphere. Great value for money and perfect for what we needed.

The only downside was the the beds were a not super comfortable but did the job for the night!
