Loved the hammocks. Hammocks should be mandatory everywhere! The place has a nice vibe. Will come back in the future.

The doors bang all the time which wakes you up day and night. The quiet times aren’t enforced / encouraged, the kitchen is a little small for trying to cook and is constantly in need of cleaning - even first thing in the morning. Not much info / leaflets in what to do in Newcastle. It’s all for other places.

Most of the staff where sooo nice. The hostel itself looked soo pretty. The baskets for your food where really nice. The showerheads where luxurious. And the hostel was never "too packed". So nice and quiet at times!

The trays of the fridge would sometimes cave in. Which should be fixable I guess. One showerhead would spray water because it was a bit loose. And sometimes it could be really chilly in the rooms. We got extra blankets though so that was realy nice.

I only stayed for 3 nights and had a good time. The rooms were very clean and the facilities too. The hostel has a pool and a comfy "living room" area with a big TV. Everybody was very friendly and helpful!

If I had to critique something it would be the location. Even though the Hostel is close to the Greyhound bus stop, you had to walk for around 15 minutes to get to the center or take the bus.

Location, next to the bus/train station. The dorms were also spacious and the beds comfy.

It didn't bother me particularly, but there are long-term workers living there and have taken most of the room facilities. Just be aware of that.

Everyone was really welcoming, it’s a « family vibe » hostel. The kitchen is big and relatively clean, the bathrooms and showers looked recently renovated, clean at all times. The room was spacious.

The beds need to be upgraded, the second you move the whole room knows about it, the metal squeaks super loud and the beds shake at any movement, it’s quite annoying

Very chill hostel with good kitchen facilities and decent showers. Loved the hammocks and outside area overall, even though it was fully booked it never felt overcrowded.

The hand towel in the bathroom seemed to never get changed as it was soaking wet all week at all hours of the day.

Clean bathrooms, good noise policy, staff were friendly

Wanting to charge guests $10 just to stay around the hostel after check-out. My personal situation was that I had arrived at 10pm and had to check out 12 hours later at 10am without using many facilities, it just seemed a bit bizarre to want to charge your guests even more

Security system was good, felt safe. Liked personalised codes to the door. The staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. I felt very safe especially as a solo female traveller. Facilties were very clean and well managed.

The heaters in the room were on too long and so was quite warm going to bed. Would have preferred either the temperature lower or on for less time.

The common room/pool room were really cool areas. The staff were also nice.

I didn't like that there were a lot of long-term guests who seemed to live there full time and work in the area as tradies or bar staff which kind of made it not feel like a backpackers hostel but still a cool place.

The pool was great, staff lovely, kitchen clean and easy to use, playstation 3 was cool, hammocks, showers and toilets were okay. Bunks comfortable.

Everything was fine, it just got really hot with no AC in the summer heat. They do have fans in the rooms and kitchen tho as well as windows open. It was only because of the summer heat.
