Staff were fantastic, very friendly and personable. Location was great as surrounded by popular cafes, in a nice area and within walking distance to beach. The meals we had at Junction Hotel were beautiful. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable.

Given that we had a 2 night stay, so of course a couple of showers each: The lack of somewhere for 2 bathtowels to dry (or the bathmat given that the short shower screen meant it was dificult to prevent the floor becoming very wet). There was only a wall hook & very short towel rail above the toilet which would only accomodate a folded towel. Along the same lines, there was the tiniest of short hanging spaces for clothing (not long enough to hang a pair of trousers or skirt). Whilst these little things would certainly not deter us from staying again, they are practicalities that could easily be addressed eg. a portable clothes rail.

I was a bit nervous staying above a pub as I thought it would be loud and dirty….I was very wrong. My room was clean and a good size. The shower was fantastic. I was given two bottles of water each day plus breakfast on the weekend - which was delicious. The price was extremely good especially as it was a long weekend. I met the manager when I booked in and he showed me around and offered to carry my bags upstairs. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place to stay and eat.

parking was a bit of an issue

The modern room had a very comfortable and stylish bed. The bathroom was new and clean with an awesome shower! The complimentary breakfast was an added bonus and the food and service was beautiful!

The bedside lights cannot be completely turned off so for a light sleeper it was difficult to sleep with. A tv guide describing what stations were available would’ve been useful. A cup/glass would’ve been helpful as I forgot my drink bottle and couldn’t drink from the tap.

We chose this hotel as it was close to the function we were attending. The interiors are much better than the exterior suggests. The rooms have been recently refurbished in a modern style and were very comfortable and appealing. The bed was great. The breakfast in the downstairs bar area was excellent. There are a few other cafes, shops, and eateries located in walking distance.

The only thing I think could do with improving is the accessway to the upstairs rooms. The corridor takes you straight past the kitchen into a not-so-nice part of the hotel.

Early check in and voucher for breakfast that I was not expecting. Helpful staff and great breakfast. Room was very quiet. Great towels. Undercover parking across the street that I paid $15.00 for and it was easy to access the car park. Would recommend for a short break in Newcastle. Very close to Bar and Merewether.

Breakfast only on Saturday and Sunday, and I was there on a Monday. The pub is modern and very chic. They seem to have an impressive selection of wines from the Hunter region… so if you’re after a good drop maybe consider this place in Newcastle. The food and restaurant are also top notch. I had breakfast the last time I stayed there. But the dinner meal was also of a quality nature, and I’d go back and stay just to dine again.

There was no hand soap in the sink soap dispensers in the bathroom.

The staff was extremely friendly and always ready to help. Although it might look interesting from the outside both room and pub were beautiful, we had a big comfortable bed and also got given a voucher for breakfast, which was unexpected but very appreciated! At the end of our breakfast as we checkout the friendly staff gave us tips of where to go in the hunter. Would stay at the junction hotel again!

it was clean, quite, well placed to get to wherever you want to be. the staff were very good and helpful.

The bathroom in one of our rooms has see through glass walls. The shower wall is the first thing you see when you walk in tue door, so there is no going out of the room while someone is in the shower. There was also no privacy in that room.

everything very hard to fault, loved the decor , the breakfast, the staff were all fantastic. great pub environment with well behaved patrons! no excessive noise. breakfast vouchers were great value and made breakfast so reasonable. We were full all day

A bit of a drive to the food precinct in Beaumont st. Smelly bin outside the stair well door.

Excellent stay in all respects (we have stayed there before, so knew it would be!). Very good restaurant, we ate there every night, and had breakfast there twice. Accommodation is well designed, we heard no noise from the downstairs buzzy bar and restaurant in our room.

There is no lift.
