I am very happy with my stay at the Holiday Inn. The hotel is located just a few walking minutes from the train station and the lightrail that takes you pretty much everywhere in town. The hotel is very nice with a modern and very well kept lobby and eating area. We were extremely happy with the cleanliness of our room (bed are comfy and bathroom was impeccable, very modern) and overall of the hotel, it was spotless. We really liked the breakfast, there’s savoury and sweet and a fun pancake machine to use! Shout out to the staff, they were all welcoming and very helpful, from the breakfast service staff to the reception! A special thanks goes to the absolutely lovely lady at reception that helped us with our luggage and little plants after check-out. You made us feel cared for! This is what makes a great stay and a great Hotel!

When we checked in we met Linda at reception and she was very polite, helpful and friendly. We had to check out very early the next morning so no time for breakfast, the hot chocolate machine did not work and Linda was there, made us one. Just one staff made our stay so pleasant. The hotel has been recently renovated, there are firm and soft pillows. You can stream Netflix on the phone and connect to the TV. The shower is funky with grey prints right in the middle of the room yet very private.

Newcastles is the city of "no right turn", to get to the hotel we have to detour a few times. The only minus point of the Hotel was the AC filter was very dirty. I have allergy with dust so always looks at AC filter wherever I stay.

A small but cozy room with great amenities like fridge, tea/coffee facilities, blackout curtains and a smart TV. The bed mattress was really comfortable as well, and the room design was appealing. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety, including delicious pastries and coffee.

The bathroom had a weird design with glass walls and no lock, lacking privacy and soundproofing. Unfortunately, this meant that noises from neighboring guests could also be easily heard, especially at night. Additionally, the hotel's location on a busy street caused disturbances from street noise (motorcycles, street racers).

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the light rail and the main railway station. The CBD and beach are close by when walking as well. The room and bathroom were clean. They are on the small side but well-designed spaces and the size is commensurate with the rate charged. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There is undercover parking available for $20 per day which is good value compared with other hotels.

As always in hotels these days, the lighting could be better in the bedroom if you want to read at night.

The staff at reception were very welcoming, friendly and helpful by giving ideas on what was nearby to visit. Breakfast was quite basic not many options but because it comes free of charge it was good enough. The rooms were very clean, tidy and modern. Ample parking at the hotel. There was a gym and laundry for guests to use. Walking distance to Coles.

I didn't like the pillows even though you were provided with a soft and firm pillow. I found both pillows very hard to my liking. An empty hand sanitising station at breakfast which was not filled the whole week of my stay was a disappointment. Especially as it was a buffet style breakfast.

Breakfast just adequate. Location good but a map showing the left turn u-turn access would be handy. Same road in and out of town was nearby to hotel. Local shops were nearby with very good gift shops. Great coffee shop directly across the other side of the main road.

Towels were thin and needed replacing. Breakfast could be improved. I was in the left lane and not expecting my GPS to advise a "U turn if possible"; I realised later that the GPS was referring to a left hand U turn (very unusual) which would have brought me to the front of the hotel. Car park was not secure - easy access for pedestrians.

The staff were so lovely, went above and beyond to help us. We were there for medical reasons, and everything was done to make us as comfortable as possible, giving us a disabled access room that made everything far more comfortable than any other hotel we've stayed in thus far. To have a seat in the shower, and enough space for my husband to be able to help me made all the difference in the world.

There was nothing we didn't like, but there was an omission. And that was a comfortable armchair in the room. You don't always want to sit on the bed, and when you have disabilities, it can be difficult to get comfortable. I know it's a lot to ask, but a recliner would be perfect.

Outstanding service from every staff member throughout our stay. Honestly, the staff at Holiday Inn Newcastle were amongst the very best we have encountered throughout many years of travel. Breakfast provided great variety. Each dish we sampled was fresh, hot (where applicable) and tasty. Crockery and utensils were spotless as was the tables, seats and general dining area. Barista made coffee available at the Reception desk was excellent and undercover parking was convenient and reasonably priced.

Nothing to fault at all.

This hotel was immaculately clean, with a big, comfortable bed, modern furnishings and a good shower. I have rarely loved a hotel breakfast but this one was absolutely delicious and even the coffee was good! Really impressed even though we only had one night.

The door on the bathroom was a bit confusing as it's also the shower door. I felt so old and silly trying to work it out but in the end it worked fine.

The room and staff were amazing and made it a really nice stay. Also, the fact that it's close to the Newcastle Interchange (5 min walk) and has ample parking is great. Free breaky is included and really nice, and the lounge area is great for a beer or some chill time. Fast and free wi-fi was great and allowed me to complete some work as well.

If you drive, you are charged $20 per night for parking. Also, for some other hotels of this nature and price, this one doesn't have foxtel and only had free to air.
