The room was of a good size for a city hotel. The bed was excellent - nice sheets, good size and comfortably sprung. The staff were very accommodating. We left some toiletries behind after checking out and they were kind enough to issue a swipe card so we could go in before the cleaners made it to the room.

The bathroom was a bit narrow - not a problem for us but we could imagine a larger person may have found it difficult, particularly as the mosaic tiles had sharp edges. If ran your knuckle by the wall accidentally, it drew blood. Rain shower heads are a poxy way to have a shower - you can't stand up straight unless you want water in your eyes. The nearby parking was a short 400m away but most of the parking in the station is marked as private. We grabbed the last spot in the entire car park, and we arrived at 3:00 PM.

Clean, great shower! Basic facilities were good. Providing you are not spending a great deal of time in your room, this is a really good place to stay. Loved Jamy’s kitchen next door for breakfast. Really good food and service.

We had the cheapest possible room and it was very small! Hotel lacks charm, but if you are mainly out and about that’s no problem! Disconcertingly, there are large mirrors everywhere, including along the hallways and at the head of the bed! This may be a ‘plus’ for some guests!!!🤣 Supplies (tea bags, toiletries etc) were a bit on the ‘mean’ side and certainly not sufficient for two people!

Location was great and quiet. Plenty of cafes and shopping available nearby. Short walk to train or tram line. The reception team and cleaning crew were friendly and helpful.

No microwave in the room which I prefer for when a quick meal is plan A. The room was tidy and clean and serviced dsily. The taps in the shower took a bit of getting used to but water pressure and temp were good once adjusted. Unusual not have a lift in the building. Lugging heavy suitcases up stairs could be challenging.

Helpful friendly staff. Gave us directions to their affiliated discounted car parking, which would be good to know when booking. The room had a lovely old fashioned opening window/ doors which overlooked the tree lined street. Only a short walk from the famous Coke a cola sign, but away from the main road. I would stay here again when visiting this area of Sydney.

The only powerpoint we could use was loose from the wall and in an awkward spot on the floor behind the desk. Im not sure if the hotel is aware of it.

Great basic hotel Friendly staff Great shower In a really good neighbourhood Close to The Cross and Darlinghurst eateries Jamie’s kitchen, next door offers great breakfasts

Rooms are fairly small - not an issue if you are mainly out and about On our first night there was a lot of noise from a music venue nearby that persisted well after midnight. After raising this with staff we were graciously moved to a quieter room Property appears not to have lifts. This would be a problem for some people with disabilities

I stayed here for a quick business trip and it had all I needed in terms of comfy bed, central location and clean. There are so many restaurant options nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Kings Cross Station is a 4 minute walk away (as well as being on a road that has many taxis drive past). Staff were helpful and friendly. I had a great sleep!

The shower did take some time to adjust to get the right temperature. There was some echoing from other guests I could hear walking up and down the hallway but it didn't bother me. Maybe if you're a light sleeper it will.

My experience staying at this awesome hotel was really great, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to crash! First off, the staff was amazing - super friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. The hygiene standards were top-notch, too. The rooms were spotless and everything smelled clean and fresh. The location couldn't be better either. We were right in the heart of the action, with tons of great restaurants, bars, and shops all within walking distance. Plus, it was easy to get to all the major attractions in the area. And the best part? The price was totally reasonable for everything we got. We felt like we got a great deal for the quality of the stay.

Google maps has this property listed as a 4star hotel and Booking.com says 3star quality. I felt like 2++ or 3- (little bit under a full fledged 3star) was more accurate. But expectations are related to price paid, the Kirkton is a great value and perfectly acceptable budget hotel option in central Sydney. Hotels are very expensive here, so the Kirkton offers a great option. Its not bad at all. Pluses...comfortable bed, good water pressure and hot shower. Breakfast is an added option, I had it included. It is next door at an independent cafe, Jamie's Kitchen. Excellent breakfast.

Cons... small room, no view (brick wall 5ft away. But this is on me as I took an economic room option), wifi slow, no elevator, no safe in room, no hairdryer. Not super convenient location. Tourist sites of circular quay are a $10 Uber ride away or King's Cross metro rail is close. But considering the good price, everything was fine. If on a tight budget, Kirkton is recommended.

Room was pretty clean. Linen was clean and pillows were comfortable. Was good to have a desk and chair to work at. Fridge was a good size. Lovely fluffy towels and grateful that two were provided to wash my hair. Good tea and coffee. Great to have wine glasses.

A few broken items. Light switch, no shelf in bathroom as it had been broken off so nowhere to put shampoo or soap. No face washer provided. I asked at reception for a facewasher on the second day but received a second set of towels which I didn't use as I didn't want to create more washing. They didn't seem to understand when I asked for a face washer. I asked for a room with a full vanity but they didn't seem to understand this either. My room had a hung vanity so nowhere to put the hairdryer, soap etc. Fridge was big but needs a freezer section. Powerpoints under desk were difficult to access. Mugs rather than small tea cups without a saucer would be useful.
