Comfy hotel room style bedrooms with a hostel price point Good bathroom facilities which are very convenient to all of the rooms Shared facilities but we barely even saw anyone else and never once had to wait to use the shower or toilet Toiletries, tea & coffee, towels provided The bar that the accommodation is located within is great, extremely popular with some nice food options and live music Conveniently located to Darlinghurst and Kings Cross public transport, food and nightlife Did not find noise from the bar to be an issue at all, you could hear some noise when windows were open but we had them closed and air con on Air conditioned rooms with hanging space and mini fridge

Hostels would probably be more social for travellers but we weren’t really bothered about this Room was quite dark and the lights weren’t very bright Drinks in the bar were a bit expensive and some food was too

The location was great, right beside train and bus stops. The amenities were clean, easily accessible and never too busy, which is great when they are shared like this. Couldn't say a better word about the staff, they were really welcoming and knowledgable

Didn't really bother us but it can be quite noisy up until 11pm ish if you are the sort to go to bed early like we are. Ask ahead of arrival if you can have a room on a higher floor - they're friendly, they'll try to help!

Simple but nicely decorated with comfy bed (and pillows) and clean bathrooms. All you need.

Didn’t like that there was no security guard or night manager on the premises after midnight. We barely slept first night due to idiots in the next room blaring music until 2am and again from 4am. Had to confront them ourselves which could have escalated but luckily didn’t.

Excellent value, very good location near Kings Cross and two free drink vouchers in the bargain!

It’s not the quietest location, naturally.

The staff was amazing! They were always very friendly and extremely attentive. The room in itself was simple but cute. Everything was clean and the location is also really nice with good bars and cafes right around the corner. We would definitely stay again!

We loved our stay but the only minor issue we had was that our window did not close properly which resulted in the room getting quite cold during nighttime. But that is probably only an issue if you stay during the wintertime like we did and you can also just turn up the heater to accommodate for this.

Darlo Bar is in a lovely area of Sydney. Tree-lined streets, interesting side streets, good coffee shops on every corner, plenty of restaurants and at least 2 cinemas. I walked everywhere from here, including home from a film show at the botanical gardens at 11.30pm. I felt safe all the time. The staff at the Darlo were very friendly and helpful, storing my bags until the room was available, offering me a jug of iced water to take upstairs and sorting out an issue I had with the room. The showers and toilets are shared, but there are a few and they were always free when I needed them. As a solo female traveller I felt very comfortable both at the accomodation and in the area. The photo shows the street and end of the Darlo Bar building.

This was actually fine for me, but I think it's important to know that the rooms are above a very lively bar. I stayed 4 nights and the music and sound of people was loud until midnight Fri, Sat and Sun. Monday was quieter so other week nights might be too. I don't think it would be suitable for people who go to bed early and/or need a quiet room.

The location was excellent! Close to the metro, many buses and walking distance to most places downtown. The staff was incredible, Jack, Tony and Eiwon (I'm sorry for the spelling!) to name a few made sure I had the best stay and was comfortable and felt safe. Highly recommend for a solo traveler. The bar downstairs was super fun with something to do every night!

It is what it is, but wish the bathrooms were en suite. However, very clean, with all comforts necessary, including feminine hygiene products, which is excellent!

I usually stay closer to my University, as I travel once a month sometime more than that. However, wanted to explore a new area close by. Honestly, I am really happy I did. Darlo exceeded all I could expect. Location is perfect, staff is so helping and amazing, there’s a bar that’s a happening place most of the days. Amazingly clean and comfortable. I haven’t seen this level Of comfort and cleanliness maintained at this level of Hotels. They are doing a fantastic Job. Shout out to Tony - Mate thanks for finding me specs and keeping the place shining!

There is nothing I can add here, the only thing for peole booking and staying here should keep in mind. It’s in the heart of city and you gotta be flexible with parking your car a few 100 meters away. It’s off street parking and I didn’t get fined for 4 days I parked so it’s safe.

I felt safe as a solo female traveler and that was due to the staff being so kind. Both the man who checked me in and Tony who was the cleaner. The bathrooms were always clean and there was always one available, it was a great stay for the price.

I think it would be cool if the hotel offered a drink voucher for the guests (maybe they do this and I wasn’t aware!)

Good location close to bus stops and not far from the city. Downstairs is a bar but it doesn't create much noise. It comes with one free drink at the bar. Unable to provide early check it but you can leave your luggage behind the bar.

The only down side is that the accomodation is located at 2nd and 3rd floor if you travel with a big luggage you'll need to carry your heavy bag upstairs
