The Commercial Boutique Hotel

Property provided pet friendly accommodation which was perfect as we’re traveling with our 9 year old pet cat. The manager was extremely helpful showing me the room and best place to park. Beautiful products in the bathroom and everything was clean and accommodating. Great location for disabled people as access and facilities are all well thought out and installed. Perfectly placed to walk to shops and cafes.

Need to park on the Main Street but there are spots almost outside the room

A great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Commercial Boutique Hotel Tenterfield. The beautiful old building has been restored tastefully. We had the room on the street level. It was skilfully decorated to be current and beautiful without conflicting with the age of the establishment. It was spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed while also being disability and pet friendly. There was a little bit of street noise however we weren’t bothered by it. The room has block out curtains, lovely towels and bathroom products, milk in the fridge and some large wine glasses so you can enjoy your purchases from the local vineyards. The staff were very accommodating and professional. The pressed metal bar and restaurant are welcoming and there is a lovely fireplace and also a large back deck perfect for sunset drinks. On a note of preference, we found the bed to be way too soft and although tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the room, it included instant coffee. A little coffee plunger would have been nice, however it is not far to go to purchase the coffee of your choice. Overall we’d definitely recommend the hotel for an enjoyable stay and a good place to explore the vineyards and history of the area.

Very central location but a good view of the mountains. Outstanding and appropriate art-deco renovation with furnishings and glass throughout very appropriate. Good food, excellent bar & service and the couches around the open wood fire were a lovely touch. Appreciated the atmosphere of a pub with no pokies and the type of patrons that attracted.

Lack of a window in room that could be opened for fresh air was a minor negative.

A great location for an overnight stay with our dog in the pet friendly room on our way to Queensland. The restaurant meals were also outstanding and added to the enjoyment of our stay. Enjoyed it so much that we stopped in for another overnight stay on our return to Victoria.

Would have been better if we could have used the lock door that didn’t open directly onto the street footpath.

Beds are slightly small for a couple. Although I. chose a room with a sitting room to have more space, I would have just preferred a bigger bedroom. We had dinner and I felt that the main course was extremely small for my partner he ordered the duck … such a small portion .

Located right in the centre of town. Great restaurant and bar on premises. Attractive decor and furnishings in the rooms.

The hotel at first was going to charge us for our stay, and we had already paid through Booking.com. We showed them our email payment confirmation and they didn't charge us. This happened to us before when using Booking.com. You need to look at your processes - we paid the full amount days before we arrived, and the payment should have gone through to the business.

The hotel has been beautifully renovated. The room was spacious, comfy bed, and a very generous ensuite. Everything was of a high standard. Although the staffing was highly affected by Covid restrictions, we were met on arrival and made welcome. We will have to come back to enjoy the new extended outdoor section.

Unfortunately the bar and dining were closed due to Covid restrictions. The staff member gave us some good local recommendations though.

It was very relaxing staying there. Like being in your own home with friends. No TVs , loud music or gaming room downstairs helped with the relaxed feel

I was too short to see out of the top section of the windows (which wasn't frosted) to look out onto the main street.

Beautiful room, we stayed in the bath room with the verandah - very nice!

The room was great, pretty pricey though. Downstairs, they have kind of wrecked what they have done by turning an beautiful old pub into a ‘fancy’ restaurant. I would have enjoyed it more if it were a typical country pub.

Dinner was enjoyable but overpriced for the quality. Partner Chicken Kiev was good but accompanying vegetables were served cold. Tables for two are very small and by the time cutlery, glasses, condiments, water and of of the course the meal is delivered there isn't much room left.
