Everything was great. The check-in was quick and easy, and the lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was even nicer than the photos, very comfortable very modern. I think this is the best motel I've ever stayed in. I don't know why there's no photos on the website of the view from the upstairs balcony rooms, it made me a bit sceptical that there was any view at all, but it was actually quite a nice view. and being a bit back from the busy main road, the noise wasn't really a problem. The coffee truck right out the front is a great idea, although I didn't get to use it as there's only a few seats in shade and it was a very hot weekend, so I didn't want to be sitting in the direct sun. The property is about a 10-15 minutes stroll along the waterfront back to Warners Bay shopping area for cafes, supermarket etc. There's a Teppanyaki restaurant on site, which i didn't go to, but there were several groups of people showing up for it, so it must be popular, and despite being almost right nextdoor to the restaurant I didn't hear anything at all from my room, which was great.

My only problem with the room was that there were no proper curtains. There was a black see-through "privacy" curtain, but nothing else, so there was a lot of light coming into the room, which kept me awake. And then i was woken up by all the light coming in once the sun had come up - not everyone wants to be awake at 6.30am on their holidays! especially after being kept awake by the light in the room during the night. If some proper curtains were installed, I'd very happily stay here again.

The Esplanade Motel is a lovely motel to stay at. The room was light, bright and modern with all we needed for our stay including crockery, cutlery and wine glasses for two as well as coffee machine, toaster and kettle. The bathroom was modern and large. Our room was decorated in a beach style and we had a good-sized balcony with outdoor table and chairs that overlooked Lake Macquarie. The area surrounding was very well maintained. There is a coffee caravan on the premises which is a great addition for a coffee fix plus cakes, pies etc. We walked along the waterfront to the cafes, restaurants and shops in the main area of Warner’s Bay which takes about 10 - 15 minutes. We have booked again and this will be our favourite place to stay in future when visiting the family there. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was nothing we did not like.

A ver pleasant motel with exceptional clean well maintained grounds. There was a Coffee cart out the front with great coffee and a simple but well thought out menu for quick and convenient service and the food was delicious and well priced . The reception staff and housekeeping staff were very polite , and nicely presented. After hours check in was easy with the customer thought of with heater and lights put on in our room for our arrival and convenience. The rooms have been renovated and very spacious new well presented bathrooms. All in all it was a great little motel and great value for money.

Couple of little things in regards to the house keeping in our room that were visual but it didn’t affect our stay in anyway but was mentioned to the staff with the questionnaire provide on check in to be filled in on our departure . Other then that could not fault the motel or the staff.

Room was clean and comfortable with a small seating area and good sized TV. The location was great and just across the road from the huge lake. The shops, cafes and theatre were only a couple of minutes away up the road by car.

Kitchenette area was ok but the only fresh water supply (unappealing) was from the bathroom tap which was a bit awkward for filling the kettle. Hated the shower-head. No shower-cap provided and quite difficult for a woman to have proper hygiene with just a waterfall overhead. This was my biggest bug-bear otherwise I would have given a higher rating.

Tanya, Lily & Brock were wonderful. They were very welcoming & helpful. Our room was modern, clean & comfortable. Jimmy's coffee van was very handy & your restaurant was lovely. Parking was good.

The traffic on the road was busy & noisy but there isn't much you can do about that. Maybe the council could put up a noise barrier or something? We couldn't here it inside our room, it only bothered us while using the pool. The pool is nice but became a little to crowded at times. A bigger pool & outdoor area would be great (maybe utilising the back yard?) Using the small bathroom sink for washing dishes wasn't ideal. Just a small sink in the kitchenette would be good. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom which was annoying.

I found the location for what I wanted to do. Shops were close for convenience. The renovations to the room were very nice and plenty of power outlets available for laptop and phone charging. The weather was great so the pool was welcoming.

There were a few ants in the bathroom coming from near a window seal. I managed to clean them up and no further problem for the rest of the stay.

Room beautifully renovated; Provision of microwave, fridge, crockery & cutlery. Bed a King - big tick; Very comfortable. Smart tv spot on. Quiet! location, slept very well.

Would love centre lights & bathroom lights to be updated as well to a softer ambience. Sadly the taps on the basin hit the mirror - a decent trady I'm sure would consider helping you to resolve this.

Lovely decor with a coastal feel, great view, amazing receptionist who couldn’t be more helpful (I think her name was Crystal or similar?) Location is great, only meters to the water, and a short 5-10 minute walk (depending on your speed) along the esplanade into Warners Bay.

The door was a bit loud every time it shut which might annoy the other guests as I was in and out a lot. Might just need a soft-close mechanism.

Location was perfect, right opposite Lake Macquarie, and able to ride our family's bikes directly onto the bike trail from the hotel in seconds. Bedrooms were airy and had views of the lake. 3 bed unit was roomy. Onsite Teppanyaki restaurant and the coffee truck were good bonuses too

Not a lot of parking, had to park out on the street a couple of times. Also the way the TV media setup is configured is a bit crazy. At least 3 times people staying in other rooms took over our room's TV to start playing THEIR Netflix or Stan, while we were in the middle of watching our own shows !! Very lucky that they did not put on inappropriate content in front of our young children !! Needs to be much better security on this setup.

The room layout is well thought out and spacious for the $ rate, the bathroom also above average. Staff were personable and friendly. Travel was to visit elderly family member, so was chosen as the closest.

Couldn't get the wifi to work, but not important so didn't seek help. Parking is an unusual layout but easily figured out. Entry & exit to the main road a little awkward.
