The reception staff were absolutely fantastic. I had an issue with my room and the fact that the couple in the room next to ne were very noisy at 3am!! All I asked was when they were checking out, when the young girl told me it was on the 29 Jan, the same date as myself she said I will move your room. There was no hesitation, and she was so pleasant in helping me. She also gave me the choice of a number of rooms, when i said to her you pick what you think would be the best from a noise perspective, she selected my room and gave me an upgrade to a king - absolutely fantastic!! Not what I was expecting or even asking for but to have that given to you so nicely was amazing. Each time I saw her after that she checked to see if I was ok, and the room was alright - this is customer service at its best!!! This is also why I will recommend your hotel and be coming back to stay as I do travel regularly to Darwin. Location is one thing but having attentive reception staff is next level - WELL DONE!!!

The double rooms were very small, smaller than I expected, but they were clean and comfortable. It was amazing the difference between the double and king rooms. As a single traveller I don't need much space, but the king was great as the double just felt that bit claustrophobic.

Great inner city location. Less than 5 min walk to supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, art dealers. A 10 minute walk through the shopping mall to the Visitor Information Centre, the Darwin waterfront restaurants, the wave pool and the swimming lagoon. A 20 minute walk to the Darwin wharf where the Royal Flying Doctor & Bombing of Darwin exhibitions are located. Mindil Beach markets and sunset viewing are less than 10 minute drive away. All tours pick up either from or close to this hotel. Despite its city location, this hotel is quiet after dark. Security measures include 24 hour reception, swipe card access to main entry / exits and ride share or taxi pick up / drop off at the front door. The one bedroom apartment we stayed in was very clean, cooled by efficient air conditioning with daily housekeeping available if required. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The swimming pool is too small and the area around it does not encourage people to visit it for more than a quick swim. A bond payment is required on check in - that was not disclosed on booking and may be a problem for people on limited budgets.

Location is fantastic, very centrally located and easy to get around without a car. Even though you are right in the thick of things noise wasn’t a problem. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is always someone at the desk. Kitchen facilities were great and the bathroom is a good size. Lots of fans and 2 x Air Conditioners for cooling with a small outdoor balcony. The one bedroom apartment is a great size and perfect for two!

There is not really anything we didn’t like. The washing machine didn’t work which was a shame for convenience and wasn’t fixed while we were there… we could have used the on-site laundry but didn’t want to share with other people so we just used the laundry sink.

We were very pleased with our three-night stay at the Darwin City Hotel. Our apartment was unusually spacious, it was very well equipped, it was in excellent condition and it was very clean. Moreover, the apartment was quiet and bright, it was attractively furnished, the lift/elevator was reliable, and our room was nicely serviced each day. With respect to equipment and facilities, our apartment had a high-end washing machine, a dishwasher, plenty of cutlery, crockery, etc., sufficient closets and shelves, and proper curtains. The bed, too, was very good. The WiFi worked well. While we were very pleased with our apartment and were delighted by the affordable price structure of the Darwin City Hotel, we would not describe the hotel as elegant or as sleek and striking. Rather we would describe it as comfortable, convenient and restful.

No complaints at all

The location is excellent, I was able to reach a lot of things on foot. Cleanliness is good, and the bed comfortable. All I needed was there.

The room I got when I checked in the second time had a TV that I was unable to turn on the sound. It wasn't bad enough to get someone to check it, but it was a bit annoying. What I REALLY didn't like was that I paid extra for a late check out at noon, but got harassed by phone calls both to the room and my mobile well before my extended check out time. I ignored the calls, but I got extremely annoyed. This is not on, I was considering asking my money back for the harassment alone! Get your communications right. This has affected my overall rating of the hotel.

Every thing was amazing, I could stroll every where and it was safe. Everything exceeded my expectation. Darwin is an amazing safe place to visit and enjoy adventures and Darwin City hotel and staff are perfect, I couldnt have ask for better. Pool was lovely, swam every day, shops and restaurants are nearby. Darwin I loved every minute I had with you.

The only thing that would have been a great help to the less fit and physically disabled would be two rails on the steps into the pool. Looks like there was a rail there at some time.

Easy checkin , good location and smiley, efficient staff. The room was a good size but felt a bit closed in because it looked out onto a building. However we were only there for one night so it was fine and did not bother us. My friend left some clothes in the wardrobe , and the staff bundled them up and placed them with our luggage which was being stored until we collected it. We were so grateful as the clothes were for a wedding and it saved a stressful day returning to pick them up… thank you staff 😊

Perhaps the fact that there was nothing provided in the mini bar ??

First room was large and had a good sized balcony. We couldn't use balcony because of the afternoon heat. We had to shift rooms after one night because the washing mcahine flooded the bathroom and it being Friday night , no service call til Monday. But staff shifted us to another room . Better view but a tiny balcony, room smaller but more than adequate.

While most night quiet, there was some noise til 3am from the next street from techno music. If it had been melodic it would have put me to sleep but the bass beats were very irregular and not conducive to sleep.

Everything fine in the hotel: Confortable beds, big room and bathroom... Quiet and calm rooms. Close to everything you need in the area. The gym that you got acces, is 24/7 and is amazing!!!

The only thing is: When we arrived at night, i went to the main desk to say to the receptionist that we were looking for a place to park the car. After that (20 mins later) , we come back to do the check in... 2 days after, doing the check out, we were informed that we had included the parking... Is not for the money, is for the time we spent... Even with this, we were super nice in the hotel. My recommendation : confirm in the main desk if you have included because i recibed an email the day before saying, i didn't, and was a mistake.

Great location! Right in the City but still quiet.

The weekday servicing could be improved, not impressed. The couch is uncomfortable and the pillows need replacing. It would be good to check every room/apartment once a year and replace what is missing, ie utensils, glasses etc and repair what is damaged - the clothes airer was rusty and broken and I was worried about the rust staining clothes. Only 2 coat hangers were provided in the closet.
