DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin

I always stay at the Double Tree when in Darwin. My stays range from 4 - 12 days. I am always secured the same room for the duration of my stays. The facilities are excellent. The rooms are great with very comfortable beds (i'm a fussy bed person). The pool is beautiful. The pool service (food and drinks) is terrific. The food is absolutley beautiful, whether enjoying a meal in your room, beside the pool or in the poolside restaraunt. The staff are always welcoming and friendly.

My coffee pod machine was a bit dodgy and they replaced it straight away. Excellent service.

Pool was very nice and very clean, great size! We enjoyed enormously! Room was nice, comfy and spacious. The staff was magnificent, friendly attentive and fast. The food was great, delicious and great value. The location is great, Bicentennial park just on from with free wifi and the playground is awesome. We didn't rent a car or scooter, so we walked most of the time, but reception staff got us taxis efficiently as my phone just died.

We didn't have a hairdryer, we didn't have free wifi which was advertised and we could only watch the usual channels on TV as you have to pay for watching movies. While we had our room cleaned almost every day, there were a couple of days were they only made the beds and gave us fresh towels, but they didn't clean the coffee cups or vacuum. The pool towels were scarce at times and we had to get them from our room. The gym is small. There were nights with drunk people making noise, chatting loudly or banging doors at 1:00am and 4:00am.

It was an EXCELLENT breakfast and we were spoilt for choice! The staff (from the security guy who helped us up the stairs at 2.00AM! ) to the reception staff and breakfast staff.. were ALL extremely helpful, kind, courteous and nothing was too much trouble! I just wish we could have stayed for a few more days!!

The only teeny down side was the sheets (whilst clean and fresh) had a rough patch where the material had “bubbled” and was very rough when you ran your hands over it.. but this was not a deal breaker.. just a Princess and the Pea comment!!😂

The facilities were excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The pool was wonderful. It was very good to have laundering facilities. We were within walking distance of several attractions. We had a most enjoyable evening walk from the Wharf back to the hotel (approx 30 minutes).

The shaded area around the pool was limited. Instructions for using the washing machines were not very clear and I had to explain to a few other people how to use the app and pay. It would also have been helpful to include washing powder - even a vending machine containing small sachets of powder.

The location, everything in walking distance. Clean room and bathroom with a choice of a bathtub and stand alone shower. The gym is excellent, we've used it on our entire stay. The ambience of the hotel entrance-relaxing.

The staff on the restaurant, went for dinner on the first of our stay, service were slow although there were only a couple of diners around. Ordered wine but saw my wine sitting on the counter while staff pacing up and down chatting. Left the wine on the counter for at least 10 minutes before bringing it over to my table. Ordered stake with mushroom gravy on the side but gravy was omitted have to ask the wait staff what happened with the gravy?? Breakfast is always the same every single day. Signage going to your room were confusing, could have been better. Underground car park bit tight for 4x4 car.

we had a large king room for 4 nights in Aug 2022 with some ocean view. including breakfast for two. $320 a night. The room was large, the bed super comfy, the bathroom needs a renovation (but very acceptable considering pandamic effects). The pool was big, excellent water quality and temp, lots of sun lounges, bar poolside. great at happy hour. Breakfast buffet was very very good (not excellent). The staff at reception, particular the person who checked us in , were excellent. Free movies for whole stay . Many to choose. Straight behind is Mitchel St with many bars and restaurants. Across road is esplanade park and the sea (where we spotted turtles). 15 min walk to city park. 20 min to waterfront precinct. 35 min walk to Mindl Beach and markets.

Just the bathroom could be a little more renovated. But very acceptable, very clean and nice. wifi was there but didn’t work well so just used my own mobile data happily.

our room was spacious we had a king size bed and a sofa bed for the kids except it was worst shower I have ever seen at a hotel stay it was in a corner shower my child barely fitted in it let alone an adult with a shower curtain after spending that amount of money to stay there I expected a shower you could fit in that let the hotel stay down

Warm cookies, helpful staff, pool, ambience, bath, movies. Greatly appreciated being able to store luggage and use facilities until flight home.

We had 4 guests but only 3 towels, 2 drinking glasses, 2 mugs and no extra pillows for sitting up comfortably in bed. My pillow was too high and gave me a sore neck hence I didn’t get much sleep 🙁 The waffle maker was a fail - a lot of work and terrible product. It negatively tainted our breakfast experience.

The staff at the front counter should recieve special acknowledgement . Top of the Class is Todd, the way he welcomed myself and my wife was outstanding. He helped us many times over our stay 10/10. Also Poppy and Piya were super friendly and professional.

A little dated , for the money you pay . But was comfortable.Breakfast needs another toaster as only a small one and so many people trying to use . Also and heard this from many guests , most people on holiday and want to sleep in , leave breakfast open to 10.30am would be a winner 👍

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was great! The staff were welcoming and gave us lots of info of the best places to go with great deals 🙂. There is a huge breakfast buffet, so be sure to book the breakfast as part of your stay, such a good way to start the day before exploring. The pool was clean and also has a bar that provides great food and drinks, the pool area also has tons of lounge chairs to choose from. Our bedroom was huge, the bed was super comfy making every day difficult to actually get up 🙈😅. There is a great gym and also a laundry area if you need to use them. The hotel opens at the back to Mitchell street(great shortcut) or out the front to the esplanade which is a lovely walk, however me and my partner used the neuron scooters which are incredibly handy especially in the heat and if you want to travel distances while its hot.

The bathrooms are a little outdated in comparison to the actual room. Our shower leaked a bit and the the shower head could be updated.
