As I've stayed a number of times I still continue to see regular changes and upgrades to the rooms, I happened to have stayed in the same room as last time and the small but significant changes make the difference, new towels, electric air diffuser instead to jar scent, room originally lacked a ceiling fan but there was a pedestal fan provided this time and new barth mat.

With the upgrades I'm finding it difficult to find faults.

The staff were lovely and accomindating. The price was very good and the location was reasonably close to the main activities in the area. Parking was good. It was quiet.

Some of the bits in the room were a little old and tired, BUT it had everything we needed, topped up every day, and it was clean. It was very good for a cheap room.

I chose this motel because of its location and price. The facility is in need of an update but the rooms were clean and the staff most helpful, also having information about tours at the office was most useful. I was able to walk to the harbour area and to the pick up point for the city sights tour.

Obviously an update would make a difference to the appearance of rooms but I did not regard this as an impediment to my stay there.

It was a basic clean motel room that suited my purposes for the one night in town for me on my own. It had a very comfortable bed and all the basic necessities.

There was about an inch gap under the door and when the person next door was smoking it came in under my door. The bathroom light was bare no cover on it. These are only little cosmetic things that really did not affect me greatly.

So this is a budget motel so the rooms are basic and a little tired in places but that said, I was very happy with the cleanliness, room size, friendly staff and fantastic location. If you’re looking for an excellent budget motel within 5mins walk of the Esplanade, I’d recommend this one.

Great location and great helpful staff.

Last day one guy called while we were on a tour and said that we had to leave at 10.30, but I organised with the lady earlier to check out at 4.00. The young lady asked me to drop the key into the box and leave.

Had all the basic amenities you could want, aside from the drier, but the hot weather makes up for that anyway. Was conveniently located near the Esplanade, the port etc, Craig was super welcoming.

The fan tended to have a slight rattle, took a minute to suss out the shower. Other than that it served its purpose

Great value considering it's location. Nice bed, great fridge and microwave. Rooms are old but clean. Stayed 2 nights without a problem. A/C works well and not noisy. Considering cost was under $100 per night I'd certainly stay here again.

Some maintenance issues required but did not affect our stay. Parking limited to just a few cars but street parking not hard to get. Reception was a bit 'dry'

Stayed here twice, no frills hotel very close to Cairns CBD, only 8 minutes to night market and many food oulets. 3 minutes to Esplanade and nearest bus stop. Comfortable bed, good shower, very quiet, has a desk & chair for laptop work etc., has a mini kitchen and coffee making. Everything I needed. Highly recommended value for money.

The caretakers Steve and Sharon were amazing - attentive, responsive and great customer service We all felt totally looked after throughout the whole trip The rooms were kept spotless The location was perfect A no frills motel but met all of our needs
