This is our second stay at San Mateo On Broadbeach. We loved it last time, which is why we came back, but this time it was even better. Our experience started with a call from our host, Melissa, the night before, advising us that our room would be available earlier if we desired, which we did. It was a very nice touch and very much appreciated by us. Upon arrival, we were given a warm welcome and all the info we needed. Our allocated room appeared to have been recently renovated. It was fresh, bright, modern, and had a very functional layout and a great view of the ocean from the bedroom, living area, and balcony. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and we loved the fact that free Wi-Fi and Foxtel were included. We also really appreciated the secure undercover parking. If all this wasn't enough, the location is amazing. It's only one (quiet) street back from the beach and an easy stroll to restaurants, cafes, and open space. We prefer to walk every where, so we love the fact that we can walk to the Pacific Fair shopping centre and Surfers Paradise, and this time we even walked along the coastal walkway all the way Burleigh Heads, in the south, and Southport in the north. San Mateo has it all. We can't recommend it highly enough.

One very small gripe, and it's the only gripe we had last year. It's the couch. This apartment has the same couch as the apartment we had last time. My partner and I both find it very uncomfortable. It's impossible to sit on it for longer than a few minutes without the seat cushions sliding forward, necessitating having to stand up every 10 minutes or so to push the cushion back in. Neither of us could use the couch to watch TV.. My partner sat on the chair, and I sat on a cushion on the floor. It's unfortunate because it detracts a little from an otherwise perfect stay.

Pretty good value for money. I didn’t come for the beach, but the apartment was only a block away with surf views. The coffee shop, BWS and little grocer a block away was an added bonus. Having the washing machine, dryer and iron was super handy.

The 8 or so steps at the entrance with super heavy luggage were tricky. I’m not a fan of signs on the wall with rules, makes it feel a bit institutionalised. Having to take bottles down to the recycle bin in the basement (which I never found-the recycle bin, not the basement), wasn’t ideal. Check out was a bit of a scramble trying to get dishes done and away, rubbish out and bottles to the recycle bin as per the rules on the wall (to avoid an extra charge). Also, 15-20 min walk into town proper (my bad, I clearly didn’t check with google maps!).

We loved our week stay at San Mateo On Broadbeach. The location is amazing, being only a very short stroll to the beach. Everything about the facility is great, including the underground parking, the heated pool and BBQ area, the layout of the apartment, the large TV, the washing machine and dryer, and the full kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

We only had one small niggle which was that the couch in our apartment was a little uncomfortable, with cushions that refused to stay put.

We stayed in a completely refurbished apartment and it was splendid given Australia has fallen so far behind world standards with regard to clean, crisp, qaulity accomodation. Just loved it, very neat, well decorated, very well fitted with all you need, and tidy, ticking all the boxes!! Super friendly staff, thank you for the effort!!

The whole unit is clean, cozy, comfortable, and complete with amenities. The balcony gives you a view of the sea from afar, and the surrounding neighbourhood, and some of the high-rise buildings nearby. I love how convenient it is that there is a free parking in the basement of the apartments. It's also close to Surfers Paradise, shopping centres, the beach, and restaurants. If you also feel like staying home and relax, there is foxtel cable tv you can watch, or read a book in the comfort of bed or the sofa or on the balcony. Great value for money!!! Will definitely come back!!!

The surrounding area was very clean. Location was close to the beach and a short walk to the Broadbeach Mall. We loved the very relaxed atmosphere in the area we were in. Didn't feel cramped or overcrowded at all.

The internet was temporarily down for the week.

Great location, a stones throw from the beach and beautiful views over the ocean. The apartment was well equiped, tastefully refurbished and immaculately clean which was such a delight to walk into. The apartment is an easy walk to Broadbeach restaurants and the Oasis shopping centre. The apartment is also on the bus route and a close walk to the light rail. Cafes, BWS and the Broadbeach Bowls club are just around the corner.

Truly beautifully presented. The cleanest apartment we’ve ever stayed in. It was also very comfortable. Very close to the beach and a great coffee shop very close too.

It was a shame there was no water view. We’d hoped for that, perhaps we missed that detail when booking it? We had to pay an extra $100 bond which was a bit annoying.

My favourite place to stay on the whole east coast. Location is brilliant, apartment is comfy and doesn’t feel like a hotel. Facilities are great on the whole (bed and shower particularly). Shara is lovely and provides great service, goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable.

the location is fantastic. apartment has good facilities, pool was warm and well maintained. all the amenities in the apartment were clean and functioning. location is central to the beach, multiple cafes and corner stores, a 15 min walk to pacific fair and the casino and up to Surfers. The apartments are also self contained and felt very safe which is an important aspect especially if you are travelling alone or female
