Port Douglas Sands Resort

The staff were great. Swimming pool and BBQ complex was very well kept. The unit was comfortable and reasonably well appointed. The bonus of washing machine and dryer was helpful. Having a lift made our stay easy and enjoyable.

It would have been nice to have security screens on doors and windows on the common balcony. The people staying in the back bedroom felt nervous to leave the window open at night.

Everything! Possibly because there are a number of permanent residents there, the pool area was always quiet and often empty. We loved having the pool to ourselves! Beautiful gardens and trees. Lift too.

A few basic kitchen supplies. Salt and pepper. We bought these supplies which we left for the next guests. Not a big issue.

The lagoon pool was amazing. The cafes, restaurants and clubs we're all close; as was the beach. Our unit was huge and planned out well with the 2 bedrooms at separate ends, large kitchen, laundry and 2 bathrooms. Very clean.

There were no signs to tell you where the rest of the facilities are. We were given a map, no staff to greet us and give us any area info. A one night stay for us, the smart fridge had an alarm set and beeped all night which was highly annoying.

long walk from the elevator to rooms- a luggage trolley would have been appreciated, pool didn’t have a lot of shade which made water quite warm, air conditioner was in main room only and didn’t really reach the bedrooms which only had ceiling fans

Nice apartments clean inside needed a bit more lighting does have a lift pool area nice well kept gardens 1.3kl from Port Douglas need a car to travel or you can walk beach across the road about 4 minutes not a bad place to stay

The Apartment was dark needed more lighting bed was okay obviously not a non smoking property otherwise okay

The place was clean and had even a washer/dryer in the apartment, great balcony, pool/spa (little sand pit and kiddies pool) and BBQ facilities. It had everything we needed for our stay and we would stay here again. Good value for money accomodation.

If an air-conditioner could be put in the bedrooms (there was a ceiling fan and an additional fan in the cupboard) it would be great. Where the place is located we had to drive everywhere (they had bikes there that you could hire which will get you around- too hot for us to ride ha ha) but everything is only a 5 min drive away.

The pool was amazing to swim in and relax by. I spent most of my time reading by the pool or swimming. The facilities were great; very handy having our own kitchen to cook in & the main street was a nice quick drive. Will definitely be staying again in the future. Staff very friendly & helpful =)

Lovely renovated room, beautiful tropical gardens and warm swimming pool. Very well maintained property with secure parking.

Beds could have been more comfortable and soundproofing between floors isnt great.

Room was comfortable and clean guessing had been renovated had everything we needed as was self contained

Hard to find anything wrong to be honest maybe the shower head was abit low lucky we are not tall and the pillows could be abit softer

Breakfast not available, but the unit kitchen was fully serviced with most- anything for preparing food. I especially liked the policy of closing the pool 'BBQ areas at 9.30 PM and that patrons are requested not to be noisy at late hours [There are late night venues in Port Douglas for revelers, and you could even go down to party on the beach]

The ceiling fan in the living room is faulty and only operates at a very slow level. The tiled floors are functional as regards cleaning & wear or bringing in sand, but are hard underfoot. A bit of carpeting might be of value in the bedroom or the TV areas, with a matt at the entry doors.
