The apartment is so spacious and the tropical view is stunning! The location is so peaceful and quiet. The swimming pool is gorgeous, we felt like we were in a tropical oasis. Carl and Mandy were so lovely and welcoming. The apartment is very clean and had everything we needed.

It would have been nice to have some essentials in the kitchen such as salt/pepper and olive oil. It would also be nice to add a full length mirror as the only mirror in the apartment was in the bathroom.

The floor was very dusty, felt like no one washed it for a long time The bbq was a little messy before we used it The washing machine broke during the second wash The cafe on site only opened Thursdays - Sundays, although in the brochure from the room it is said it is opened every day

Location - close to the airport, Cairns and main activities in the North, at the same time Yorkey's Knob is very calm and nice area to spend relaxing time, green and quiet terrace, nice, warm and not busy pool, helpful staff. Kids were happy to find Netflix on the TV. I was happy to find everything what's needed for cooking in the kitchen.

Curtains, they just didn't provide enough privacy, light from the front door didn't make the room completely dark at night.

Our apartment was lovely, although the 'pool view' was rather limited from our balcony... Clean and spacious though. Bed was nice and comfortable and the shower and water pressure were great! Fantastic kitchen. Breakfast was fantastic at Hidden @ Yorkeys restaurant, and the staff were lovely.

Might have been a little more comfortable with air conditioning in the room or more centralised, (only due to the humidity and trying to adjust for people not accustomed).

In many ways a typical place for the string of coastal villages from Cairns to Port Douglas, but the Golden Sands was notable for excellent cleanliness and maintenance. It's in a side street of a side street of perhaps the quietest town on the strip, so very quiet indeed. There is some airplane noise, which I didn't really notice. The beach is accessible via the ocean front reserve out the property's back gate. There is an adjacent restaurant which does a good breakfast/lunch and Sunday brunch with live music and $1 oysters. Communication with management was very good. Parking a bit snug but easily accessible and covered. This is an excellent no-hassles place from which to explore the region.

The pool is more ornamental than functional, but like the rest of the property clean. Plus you can stroll to the beach for a considerably larger pool. There isn't a lot to do in Yorkey's Knob (which is why we picked it), but it's a 15 minute drive to Cairns if you want to see the big(ish) city.

We liked the trees and gardens and the sound of the birds. The unit was very cool with good airflow. We liked the close proximity to the beach for walks. We also liked the little gem Hidden@Yorkeys which was at back of the complex - a delicious breakfast. Unit had everything we needed.

The bathroom basin drain was a bit clogged up and plug didn't work properly

The location is superb, quiet secluded on a cul-de-sac road. The vicinity to the most beautiful beach (Walking distance) is an amazing bonus. The apartment is very specious, bright and inviting. Very clean and well equipped.

All was fine, we felt very comfortable, but some guests may feel the lack of separation of the bedroom from the living area as a negative.

Very quiet secluded location right on the beach. The room had everything we needed and had a wonderful view over the pool. The check in was a breeze and undercover car parking was a plus. The pool was fantastic and you really felt like you were in a tropical oasis.

Other than a disappointing shower that had no pressure and a wonky toilet seat everything else was great.

location , beach thank you Carl and Mandy Boerboom & dear Tomas & the staff in the restaurant whom made us so welcomed, we had a very warm & nice chat with Carl & Mandy when we had just arrived, they treat you like a friend & helped us with our luggages which wasn’t available at the last three places we stayed in at cairns ! there were freshly cut flowers in the room & the bathroom , amazing view of the rainforest with birds singing ,the best location in yorkeys knob ,the size of balcony,the plantation around the pool , friendly local people ,…

the bed weren’t comfortable at all ! also there was no mirror in the room which making it hard to get ready in the morning with three people , the door/certain partition between living room & the bedroom wasn’t closing

Lovely well maintained property, apartment spotless

We were well advised in advance the lift was out of action. We were on the 3rd floor so wasn’t ideal. But under normal circumstances with an operating lift this wouldn’t be an issue.
