The York Beachfront Holiday Apartments

The apartments had everything our family needed for a home away from home. Plus a lovely balcony which we sat out on when dining overlooking the beautiful pool and gardens. Great location within easy drive to airport and the city of Cairns. Quiet, yet some local shops boasted a grocery store, chemist shop, wine/beer store and a delightful unpretentious and friendly Thai restaurant.

I didn’t like the fact I had to walk upstairs but survived. I had an apartment on the 1st floor and my adult grandchildren were on the 2nd floor. We coped.

We found The York an excellent place for us to base for the two weeks we had around Cairns. Ed and Mai keep the property very tidy and the gardens are well kept. We enjoyed being based by the beach in a lovely quiet locality. There were two Coffee places within easy walking distance and both had great coffee.

We don't believe we could fault the property.

Great quiet apartment just a stroll to the beach and the Boat Club. Ed's recommendations on dining options were helpful. (It wasn't his fault the staff at the restaurant were totally useless!!)

The bed was a little small to quibble, and lugging the bags up the stairs was not ideal. That said, it was a great stay and Ed and his good lady were excellent hosts.

We prepared/cooked most meals in house. Facilities and equipment were perfectly OK for this. Room was spacious and had great views (being on the top floor). Balcony good for loafing. Swimming pool is a good size and clean. Just over the road (and lawn, path and a few trees) from the beach. Value for money better was better here than one place and on a par with one other where we stayed at Trinity Beach.

It was so peaceful and the host was so hospitable - these two things stand out to me these days so when they are both exemplary well excellent! The place was so beautifully maintained amongst the tropical environment that I didn’t want to leave - simply 10/10 - THANKS!

Location was right across the road from the beach! We had Netflix etc to keep us entertained at night! All amenities were clean and in perfect working order and the overall comfort of our room was excellent! We even had our own car park in the garage on site!

Nothing at all, everything was perfect!

It has got a great location, the managers were friendly, the pool was clean and the noise levels were good.

The bathroom vent fan was not working in room 13 so it stayed steamy and smelly if you know what I mean. May guests had dogs, this is good for dog owners but not if you don't want to hear the barking, personally it did not bother us

Excellent clean property in a beautiful quiet location. The pool area is lovely and very well maintained. Chris the onsite manager was very friendly and helpful. The area itself is very quiet which suited us fine, there is an hourly bus service which although does not offer a direct service to Cairns is easily done with 1 change. The beach is woderful.

We needed a room for a couple of nights whilst transferring. The place was good and local. The top floor room was hard due to the stairs, but that's the way it is. If it was for a holiday, it'd be a big 10 from me.

the staff of the property were so friendly and helpful, they let me check in early, and very informative about the local community
