Blue Lagoon Resort

Great location, good facilities, spacious accommodations. The staff was very attentive and provided additional kitchen utensils upon request.

Wi-Fi was bad. It kept disconnecting, the speed was slow, and in the evening was nearly impossible to connect. The water in the pool was very warm, like a hot bath, although this understandable as it is exposed to the hot sun all day long. Our block had no covered parking, which is a problem in the hot summer days. There is an underground garage which, while usable, requires a lot of manouvering if you have a larger car (e.g., SUV).

The pool was fantastic! Barbecue area beautifully maintained, as were the grounds in and around the resort.

Disappointed that our fly screen door was not fixed during our 12 night stay, as the staff knew about the problem prior to us arriving. Despite this, our stay at Blue Lagoon was wonderful and we look forward to returning.

The location was really good, everhthing is walkable to the esplanade and all restaurants around. Not too far out of cairns but easy to get to via car and surrounding places such as palm cove. Such a clean and well kept place, quiet and the bar & grill connected to the resort was even better, such great staff.

The little amount of toilet paper only 2 rolls, we stayed for 5-6 nights and needed a third so we had to ask (we received) but was told we need to get our own, not something i’ve come across before and the payment of $2.50 for an extra towel such as pool towel.

Our ground floor room was situated within metres of the pool! Its location was well-suited to our holiday plans which included attending a wedding in Cairns followed by several days of relaxation and enjoying the Cairns area. The Airport was only 25-30 minutes away. We had a rental car which gave us freedom to travel around easily. The resort is in easy walking distance to the beach where we found several restaurants with ocean views. A small "corner store" was there as well. A slightly larger grocery store is situated about a kilometre away in the opposite direction. Beach Towels (at reception) were freely available for the length of our stay.

* The heated pool is refreshing and it is West facing and sun-bathed in the afternoon. * The very helpful staff. * The apartment had everything we could possibly need (no need to bother reception).

The breakfast deals only start at 7am and we were often leaving the resort at that time. On speaking to the restaurant staff about it, they were really helpful and made take-outs for us to pick up prior to 7 (they open at 6am). The restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Location is so convenient and the pools are fantastic. Accommodation was comfortable and very clean. Kitchen well equipped.

The dividing screen between the bedroom and lounge room in 1br apartment wasn't working well and pretty useless anyway. My husband is a night owl and likes watching TV till late while my 4yo daughter and I needed to go to sleep earlier but we felt like we were just in a hotel studio. We booked the 1br apartment for the purpose of having bedroom separated from lounge. I would recommend a proper dividing screen or shutters of some sort.

Blue Lagoon is excellent value for money in Trinity Beach. Although not directly facing the sea, it is only 5 minutes away and has great facilities. Several cafes are right at the door and the pool is a great asset as it wasn't quite warm enough to swim in the sea the week I was there. Transfers and check in went very smoothly. I've been once before and I'll go again.

The wifi is quite weak and keeps dropping out. This can be quite inconvenient as I did a couple of my regular classes by zoom which just worked for one and didn't work at all for the other one. Some blocks don't have a lift, so those who can't carry their cases up two flights of stairs should request to be put into a block with a lift when booking.

Loved the location, amazing pool (forgot togs though!), apartment was tidy and clean. The gym looked great and getting use. Parking wasn't too bad fairly close to apartment. The Blue Lagoon restaurant was amazing, ate there 3 out of 4 nights and the food was lovely, the staff were even better, highly recommend, wish I had time for breakfast but will try next time.

Was on the 2nd floor so carrying up bags was an effort.... plus have both bad knees, didn't see a lift. Would ask for a lower floor option next time.

Landscaping was well maintained and the pool was very inviting. Having a choice of two pools and the lagoon felt generous. The location was fantastic for beach access, restaurants and transport options.

I would have liked a few more things in the kitchen, such as tea towels. I understand that wi fi reception was not the fault of the resort but the intermittent nature was frustrating for booking tours etc. Rooms were not quite as sound proof as I’d like and the doors were very noisy on locking and unlocking. Door next to ours was opened and closed quite a lot, which was vey noticeable. These are quibbles only as overall accommodation was excellent.

Loved the location. Restaurants, shops and beach only minutes away. 10min walk to local supermarket, liquor store, bakery and post office. The public bus #111 was on the doorstep. Easy 40 - 45 minute bus ride into Cairns or 20 minute bus ride to Smithfield Shopping complex with a movie cinema. Was able to easily get around without the need for a car.

The selection of hand weights in the onsite gym was limited.
