Sandpiper Motel Apollo Bay

We stayed for one night only. The room was super clean, the bed was amazingly comfortable, linen and towels were of great quality. Hotel was located within an easy walk of all shops, restaurants and beach.

We travelled for a funeral and it had been our intention to leave our luggage at reception while at the funeral. It turns out that the reception is never actually staffed. While this was not a huge issue for us given we had driven to Apollo Bay and therefore left our luggage in the car, it would be a huge issue for any one travelling on public transport, or by other means. The hotel should consider making this information prominent on their website.

Absolutely love the place! The easily accessible, carefully maintained facility. The room was very clean and comfortable and we had this nice view from our window. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The check-in procedure was clear and sent to us on the morning of arrival. Second-floor room is only a few steps up, nice and quiet.

Nothing really. We saw another guest looking for the breakfast place on our way out during check-out. We didn't book the breakfast though. The front desk was not open at the time, so not sure if there was also an instruction sent to guests for this. It seemed like the guy didn't know where to look for.

The Room that we booked was exactly as the photos that were put up. There was TV along with a small kitchenette in the room. Facilities provided were satisfactory. Proper instructions about the Room and how to access the facitlities (including WiFI) were sent as Text Message on the morning of the booking. This made the check- in simple. The staff (though we did not meet many) were nice. They enquired with us if we need a fresh set of towels. The location of the Motel is perfect. It is not too far or too near to the Town centre. Everything is walking distance though.

- Room walls seem to be very thin which means no privacy. You could pretty much hear the others from the next rooms. - TV could possibly have streaming apps (or at least the possibility of guests connecting their accounts) - A small kitchen and sink is a good to have - Definitely did not like the way the beds/ mattress was put. We were supposed to have double/ queen bed. What we got was 2 single mattress which was put together with a sheet on top of it. This made sleeping difficult since we found ourselves slipping into the gap between the beds.

Easy to find. Easy walk to beach, cafes etc. Good, safe parking.

We’ve stayed a number of times at the Sandpiper. We first stayed when it was quite new and still being expanded, even before there was curb and gutter outside. We generally have the same room each time (and it’s always very clean and tidy), so we notice things that are different. There are signs of wear and tear like chipped window frames, cracked tiles, split plastic welding in the bathroom floor. Not as pristine as it has always been. It may be time for a little TLC. Still, its above average in our opinion.

Immaculate place, well thought through motel, they seem to have thought about everything from the customer perspective. Check-in was seamless and well organised. Fabulous shower room, comfy beds, seating inside and out, cutlery, crockery, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, cleaning materials for dishes, milk tea/coffee etc. Free use of the laundry which was a great bonus, close to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend this motel and we would definitely stay there again.

Check in process was excellent! Everything is prepared for your arrival. Spacious and clean! Giant rooms with a king bed, a couch, desk, mini fridge and small kitchen items like bowls and cups. Large shower with superb water pressure! There was even a large flock of white cockatoos outside 🥰

Small mix up in our stay. Likely a different use of the word 🤗. We paid for a separate cot (bed) to be added for our 9 year old son (we stated his age). We got a crib 🤣🤣

This was my second time staying at Sandpiper, and it was an absolutely comfortable experience. The room was clean and quiet. I opted to pay a cheaper price at the motel and enjoyed my breakfast at a local cafe. I ordered the big breakfast from the menu along with a coffee, and it only cost $18. If you were to order directly from the cafe, it would have been more than $30. What a fantastic deal! I will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later. I highly recommend this place.

Great ocean view from our room. Lovely little balcony. good soundproofing (we never heard any other guests, except when they were walking on the joint stairs outside). Huge and comfortable king bed. Large sized shower. We stayed for seven nights and were very comfortable. Our deal also included breakfast at Fusion Space cafe; the meals and staff were excellent!

Kitchenette could be a little larger - potentially even add a small cupboard near it with a microwave and a few more plates. For a longer stay, it would be nice to make a sandwich etc. But this is only a consideration, not a complaint

We were really satisfied with our stay at the Sandpiper Motel. The location was walking distance from the beach, all restaurants and shops. Check-in and check-out were all very easy, staff were friendly and communicative. The room was comfortable and provided all the facilities we needed for a short stay. Would confidently recommend to anyone staying in Apollo Bay.

Convenient location - close to beach and amenities The place actually had bowls for us to use for a late takeout dinner and this is something I haven't seen during the other stays for this entire trip in Victoria. Fast self check in as well as great and quick response from staffs when we had trouble with the door key. Parking close to the accommodation. Clean rooms. We loved the stay.

Pricing : was bit pricey compared to other places we booked during the trip along the great Ocean road.
