What a find! Nestled in the Falls Creek hills, this Swiss Chalet-style accommodation made our first trip to the area extra-special. Comfortable, cute, and well-appointed, with exemplary service from Jerry, Sharma and the entire staff. Included breakfast was delicious; made-to-order hot options were an added bonus. My Mum is Vegan and the chef went above-and-beyond to ensure she left a couple of kilos heavier. The lounge with open fireplace was a nice nook to relax in after a long day on the slopes, and the spa and sauna were heavenly on the aching bones. There is a bus at the end of the street to take you straight to the lifts (if there isnt enough snow), and when there's heavy snow, you can ski all the way there. I accidently left my phone in the drying room one morning – one phone call and the staff were quick to tuck it away safely for me. I really can't fault my stay – we will absolutely be back. Personal transport is run by governing body and lacks in versatility. Uber style smaller snowcats for 4 would be a great addition for those of us who don’t ski around. To be able to call a “cab” and get door to door service would have increased our spend and broadened our experience significantly. For the benefit of all businesses and stayers I would urge the governing body to consider allowing “Uber style” service to compliment the existing general public transport service.

Breakfasts were very nice. Facilities were great, cosy, lounge area, spa, etc. Next time i will get a bigger room if I can afford it.

The room was, even for a bunk bed room, way too small. We couldnt move about in our room at the same time as each other. That was the only thing we didnt like other than the high cost of $700/nite for 2 single bunk beds in a tiny room only to sleep in. Had a nice balcony area..but obvioiusly too cold to sit out there for long.

We loved the style of the chalet, reminded me of Switzerland. Our room was comfortable, warm and clean. Jerry, the owner, is very nice and friendly. Breakfast provided was excellent and dinners available at the restaurant downstairs were very good. Czech and German style food is a speciality of the chalet. Superb smorgasbords available twice each week in season. Lovely lounge for residents with help yourself coffee/tea/cake/biscuits plus Jerry kindly sorted hot chocolates for our boys.

Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. prepared to your order from a small choice each day, and a side-table of continental breakfast items if you preferred. The service was very attentive in a small dining room.

The mountain-wide shortage of staff staff showed up in the dining room a bit. They did the best they could but the struggle was real. Make sure you book ahead for the dining room if you want to eat in-house

The only thing that Karelia needs to do is update the mattresses. The beds are just not very comfortable. BUT...everything else was outstanding. It is a true icon and I felt like I stepped back into the 80's in Austria. The level of attention to detail is outrageous. Everything is just so meticulously detailed and authentic. I truly hope it never changes. Except for the mattresses. Get some Tempur mattress and it's an 11 / 10 lodge.

Quirky and certainly unique! But comfy, well heated and excellent amenities. Especially the hot tub and sauna. Breakfast was hearty and the hosts were amazing.

A bit pricey, but it’s Australian skiing. But the hot tub after a day ski touring made us think it was good value after all!

Rooms were small, but understandable the need to keep it warm efficiently. The double bed was small, I guess being used to king size bed at home

Excellent filling breakfast, able to ski from front door down to the chair lift, wonderful sitting in the outside spa while it was snowing, hot sauna great after a big day skiing, hearty dinner, really relaxing sitting in comfy chairs by the fire in the lounge chatting to other guests, friendly helpful staff, lovely balcony with views of snow covered trees, the village and distant mountains.

Great location in Falls Creek, plus it's Christmas every day at this place

Pricy, but it was an event weekend during the off-season so I can understand the rates charged.
