Hotel Vogelweiderhof

Everything! To start of,:- the hotel is veryyy close to the train station (not even 5 mins car drive). The bus stop is just infront of the hotel and it takes only 10 mins to go to Salzburg centre. Buses pass every 10 mins - sooo convenient. The hotel is very clean, spacious room, comfortable pillows. Last but not least, this hotel has the most helpful receptionists. They explain into details all the attractions, pubs, restaurants & give you excellent tips. Their warm welcome & happy smiles make the stay worthwhile. 10/10 !!! 👏

Nothing to complain about.

Stable wifi, a comfortable bed, no significant noise, good breakfast. The hotel is close to Salzburg train station (15 mins walking) and the bus stop is just near the hotel.

1. The maid didn't clean the room at all. She just changed towels and took the rubbish. No sweeping \ washing the floor. 2. The guy on the reception was not friendly on the day of arrival. 3. In the restaurant they do not have many family tables for 3 or more people. The restaurant is relatively small and it is crowded during breakfast time. 4. They do not add food (omelet, sausages, etc) quickly when there is a lot of people. The visitors have to wait for the warm food. 5. Not enough amount of light in the room in the evening time. It is within walking distance from the train station (15 minutes) but on a hot day, suggest taking a taxi. The room is spacious with a balcony facing a courtyard, though not much to see in the courtyard. The room has a ceiling fan which helps in cooling in the evening with the balcony door opened. Breakfast is typical - continental and some hot stuff like scrambled eggs and a toaster. The staff was very helpful in suggesting to take the bus as it was free due to the Salzburg founder's weekend. It is very convenient as the bus stop is only 10 feet from the hotel.

It is not close to the tourist sights. You need to take a bus, which is only 10 feet from the hotel. It takes about 10-15 minutes ride. Check the bus schedule as it is different from Monday - Friday, Saturday/holidays and Sunday. Be cautious of the bus ride as around 5 - 6 pm, it gets crowded and can be standing room only. There was a restaurant next to the hotel but not functioning when I was there. There aren't any others conveniently close by. Best to eat in tourist area and then go back to the hotel, either by bus or taxi. Another point for deduction was a noisy neighbor who smoked and talk loudly in the balcony. Though the windows was double pane, I could still hear him at 1 am in the morning.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at hotel Vogelweiderhor at the end of May, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's location is ideal, offering great connections to the city center and various tourist spots on the outskirts of town. Whether you're here for business or leisure, you'll find it incredibly convenient to get around. The rooms were cozy and immaculately clean, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. Despite being near the train station, noise was never an issue, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. One of the standout features of our stay was the staff's helpfulness. They went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable, offering valuable tips and assistance throughout our stay. A particularly great perk was the ability to store our luggage before check-in and after check-out, which allowed us to make the most of our time in the city. Overall, hotel Vogelweiderhor provided an outstanding stay with top-notch service, a prime location, and excellent amenities. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. 100

Good location if you travel by car and you don't want to drive around town (20-30 minutes to the city center by foot, but you also have the option to take the bus). We chose this hotel because it is located on the outskirts of the city but still close enough to the city center, so there is no need to drive through the city and because it also has parking included in the price. At the moment we were there, the parking spaces were less than usual because there were maintenance works in the courtyard and some were occupied by construction materials, but it was ok and even though we arrived in the evening after 8 o'clock, we found a parking space.

Nothing bad to say about the property. Rooms (we booked too) were well sized and comfortable, bathrooms both on the small side but more than adequate to have a comfortable experience. Mattress is soft, pillows too. Good temperature in the room and duvet is more than sufficient to sleep well. Have not tried breakfast. Staff at reception was very helpful and really knowledgeable about the transports to and from the city centre and train station.

The location of the hotel is convenient for the train station (might take 15’ by bus or 20’ on foot to reach Salzburg HBF) and is decently connected to the old city and sights via bus (Mon-Fri up to 4 times an hour, Sat-Sun less frequent). Other than that has not much to recommend itself. Decor in the room could be refreshed, some of the wooden paneling or the doors show signs of age and wear. Salzburg is an expensive city for accommodation so I guess we achieved good value for money, still it was not cheap.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and courteous. Very pleasant. Breakfast very nice....coffee is excellent. Breakfast room is pleasant. The room was a little cramped, small for two people....but still fine. We didn't spend much time in the room. Location is excellent.....bus transport to the city is fast, frequent and accessible....easy. Views of surrounding nature wonderful. Thank you.

The only thing I could say, was that the room was small for our needs, but that is not anyone's fault. We were in the main house room 203.

The staff was very helpful and friendly! A big variety to choose from for beakfast and tasty coffee. A small fridge and a cattle in the room. Enough space for clothes. No noise from outside or other rooms. There is an elevator if you need to go up and down with a straller or a big suitcase. Location near the bus stop.

Bed mattress was most probably made of foam, so too soft and not comfortable. The light in the bathroom was too dim to put the make-up. The shower, the sink and the toilet are stuffed in one little room, so it was a bit hard for one family to fulfill all the needs. But these are rather small things. There are more advantages and the overall impression is <3

on arrival I was greeted by very friendly, informative and helpful staff. Storing my luggage before check in time was easy and when I returned, luggage had been taken to my room for me. room was clean and comfortable.

Location was not central to the main part of Salzburg where all the attractions a visitor comes to see are located. Bus service was close to front door but only 3 services per hour so the 20 minute walk to the town centre was often quicker than waiting for the bus. Also no restaurants close to hotel, nearby pizza restaurant that was suggested was never open.
