Beautiful location in the Schottenstift. Located within easy walking distance to bus/subway stops, this quiet accommodation allowed us to relax at the end of each day without the normal noise/hustle of other city locations. An excellent experience overall. Staff was friendly and gave a couple of nice recommendations for restaurants in different parts of the city. The room was clean and well kept, and the breakfast was satisfying. Be advised that since this is in an older building, they don’t have central air conditioning. The room was furnished with a fan that will keep the room cool enough (we needed it since we were there during the heat wave).

Great spacious room with hot shower and comfortable bed. Continental breakfast was great. Check in was easy. Hotel was in an excellent location in the middle of the city. We walked to everywhere from this hotel. The hotel is actually a B&B so is not like a traditional hotel. It is situated in a very old Benedictine Abbey. We were pretty much left to ourselves once we had checked in. We had an actual room key that opened our room and the main door from the street, so we had to be careful not to lose it. Rooms were cleaned daily if needed. We loved the fact that our stay was a little different and not the usual hotel experience.

Everything was great but I did worry that our key opened our room door and the two main Abbey doors so if we lost it they would have to change the locks on the main Abbey doors. The hotel is not flash but the room was very comfortable.

We were absolutely satisfied with our stay at Benediktushaus, it even exceeded our expectations. + Prompt and efficient communication with the reception office. + Adorable location - as soon as you exit the monastery, you'll find yourself in the beautiful Freyhaus Christmas market. + Peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the place. I appreciated the absence of the TV, since we never turn it on anyway. + Photos don't do justice to the place. From photos I expected a very spartan room, yet it was comfy, spacious, and had everything we needed. +Luggage storage room in case you need to store your luggage after checking out. It's highly likely that I will choose this accommodation for my next stay in Vienna.

My wifi kept crashing, and I had to repeatedly connect to the network, yet it worked, so it wasn't a big problem for me.

This hotel exceeded all expectations. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, making the stay truly special. The building has the charm of a historic church with a serene, monastery-like atmosphere in many areas. The upper floors, however, have been renovated and feel more modern, offering a different experience. While the hotel retains some of its religious character, it provides a welcoming environment for guests of all backgrounds. After checkout, I was able to borrow a key to the luggage storage, allowing me to explore Vienna city until the evening. Picking up the luggage afterward was simple—I just returned the key to the front desk. It was a huge relief to have my belongings securely stored. The breakfast buffet was also delicious and offered a great start to the day. Highly recommended!

This is my second time staying at Benedikthaus. It was as good as the first. It is tremendously quiet, centrally located, with a comfortable and simple room. The breakfast is also wonderful - I dream of that breakfast!

Nothing! It was perfect for me, though I could see some travelers wanting a television in their room. I don't -- it's nice to have a meditative, quiet space.

Breakfast very good, nice breakfast room. Different from chain hotels.

We stayed on the third floor and we had 32C in our bedroom when we got there in the evening. The room is equipped with a Dyson fan, but it wasn't enough. I was ready to change to another hotel, but fortunately, the lovely receptionist found another fan in an unoccupied bedroom. We would love to come again, but to stay on a second floor, which felt much cooler and some bedrooms had trees outside to shade out the heat

The location is fantastic, right in the city centre, easy to walk everywhere, and it is very safe. There's a supermarket right there so it's easy to get some affordable food, too. The rooms are big and very clean. Bathroom has soap and everything. They were able to let me into my room before check-in time, too, and I was able to borrow a pen. Breakfast was brilliant, rich and healthy. It's beautiful and really quiet.

The beds are single beds, but it wasn't possible to move the mattress to the floor (which I sometimes do when beds are small and everything falls off them including myself :) The church bell rings from 6am to 22.00, it's kind of nice, but it can be slightly disturbing when arriving after a long journey and when wants to sleep for more than 8 hours :)

Great location - in the center, but there is no noise at night, windows - to the inner yard. It's true that the bells have been ringing since early morning (6 am) - but we didn't come to sleep! It's time to get up and get to know the city! There is no air conditioning, but the rooms are cool, so there was no discomfort. Breakfast was very good. The service staff is extremely kind and helpful! My nephew even got a sweet birthday present!

Absolutely nothing.

The staff (especially Lisa) were very welcoming and helpful and also quickly replied to my questions before we arrived. The location is fantastic and within a short walk of many sights. Very quiet. Great choice at breakfast. The room and bathroom were spacious, very clean and comfortable. In the room, the hotel provided a fan, so that even though it had been 35oC plus outside during the day we slept well at night.

Nothing - would definitely return.

I loved the location - in the middle of Inner City. The breakfast was fantastic, the women serving us were very kind and understanding. They allowed me to eat before the official start so I could arrive in time to my early session on the congress. The spiral staircase charming. The bathroom modern and light.

The beds and pillows could have been better. The beds are narrow, short, old stylish. The pillow was too big and too soft.
