This is an amazing location for visiting the sights of Old Vienna. Everything was within walking distance or easy to access by taxi or public transportation. Staff was most helpful and kind. Hotel restaurant made life easy for dinner on one night and breakfast was very good.

The bed was as hard as a rock. I slept well enough because we were always tired but they need new and better mattresses. The day we arrived it was 99 degrees. The hotel has AC but the room was a bit stuffy when we arrived. The desk clerk gave us a fan to get us through the day. Thankfully the weather was much better the next 2 days.

It's a hotel with history but it is surprisingly clean and well equipped. The location is excellent (particularly with it's price)! It's just next to two subway lines U1 and U3 making it easy to reach the main train station as well as the airport. There is also a large supermarket just opposite and many restaurants/snack shops around. We live at the top floor just under the bar/resaturant but the double window make it very quiet. The servers are also very helpful.

The breakfast is very good but I would not select it for 5 days' stay next time as there are many many good restaurants around the city.

This is on behalf of my parents, both over 70, who stayed here for 1 night. They arrived at 7 am from India and were prepared to leave their luggage and sit in the lobby for a few hours before venturing outside. Imagine their surprised when their room was ready for checkin , at no extra charge! The superior double room was on the top floor, very spacious and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable. What struck them most was the courtesy, professionalism and friendliness of the staff. As a cherry on the cake, they even extended their checkout time. And, of course, the location was absolutely incredible!

The location is perfect - within walking distance of many attractions and with a main U-Bahn station, Stephansplatz. Lovely shops and many restaurants and cafes close by. We stayed in the Royal Hotel 21 years ago and love it. Large bedroom with plenty of space. The staff were so friendly, helpful and nice. We would book it again.

Breakfast in the hotel was expensive at 25 Euros. Most days we only wanted a simple snack, so had to go outside to find a cafe. Not a problem with plenty around us. The bedroom had been refurbished - the mattress was very comfortable. However the bathroom was not very good, with a small hand shower fixed over a slippery bath. A shower curtain would have been better than the awkward folding screen. We did get a shower mat. The fridge was not cold enough to store white wine. We never expect perfection but the convenience and ambiance of the Royal comes close for a short break.

Location is key for this property. Adjacent to main underground station and in the heart of vienna highlights. Breakfast excellent. Staff excellent.

Room and hallways dated and a little musty. Coffee machine provided but they charge for coffee pods. Shower over bathtub is not ideal for older guests.

I believe there is room for improvement in the area of room cleanliness, specifically when it comes to the bed linens. While overall cleanliness was satisfactory, a closer focus on ensuring that all linens are spotlessly clean and refreshingly crisp would elevate the experience to another level.

Perfect location, the hotel is situated in the center of stephanplatz near many shops and resturants and near the metro station, I dont think you can find a better location when staying in Vienna , you are in walking distance from many popular spots and if you don't want to walk ,like I said you have the metro 30 seconds away . The reception desk staff is really nice and polite always answering every question with a smile and helps the best they can. Room gets cleaned every day in the morning and the cleaning staff is always happy to give more towels or help with every request.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and had no specific problem. My room was not big so if you like rooms with alot of space take this in to account and check if the hotel has bigger rooms.In my opinion the great service and great location make up for the size of the room.

The hotel is centrally located and very easy to find. The breakfast was amazing - fantastic coffee, the best scrambled eggs I’ve had anywhere, and a great variety of meats and cheeses! The staff was super nice and helpful. I had a dental emergency involving a wisdom tooth and the people who worked in the restaurant were kind enough to give me an ice pack.

The rooms are a little outdated and the bathroom is kind of cramped, but these things did not prevent me from enjoying my visit in any way. Honestly, the only bad part of my visit was the fact that it rained in Vienna during my entire stay, but this has nothing to do with the hotel.

The staff welcomed us as longtime regulars. It makes you feel like you're in the right place and it's that special place. The room is large with a view of the heart of the pedestrianized city center. Attention is in order. Creates the feeling of a home that awaits you. Rooms with natural parquet. A vintage feel and a wink to bygone eras in every detail without being tired and old. And just comfortable. The bathroom is wide with a comfortable bathtub. Over 200 engravings of Vienna from the 18th century are spread over the floors of the hotel. A permanent exhibition with a high value for the attention of guests. We actually had a kind of gallery in the hotel. Only one building separates the hotel from the Cathedral of St. Stefan. The bells of the cathedral further lift the spirits of the guests. Local newspapers are available in the lobby. Smokers can smoke comfortably at the wooden tables in front of the hotel, which are part of the breakfast restaurant. At the reception, they have suggestions for every tourist taste and interest. The panoramic restaurant has a direct view of the dome of the cathedral. The metro station is right in front of the hotel. A shuttle bus to the airport is a 7-minute walk away. The ideal walkable city center is right outside the door. The rooms are quiet. You can buy a souvenir real cake with an order at the reception.

Breakfast could be richer and more varied. For four nights there was no difference once, and no variety. The breakfast restaurant could be brighter.
