This property was such a pleasant surprise in my first stay in Antwerpen, and since than I make efforts the stay every time. It starts, Of course , with the excellent location at the center of the Jewish Ghetto, five minutes walk from the beating heart of the metropolin. Though of the central location, the street is actually a small ally where it is very quiet and peaceful during the ntire day and night. Several pleasant restaurants are located one or two walking minutes away. The food is far above better than anything that you can find in the crowded touristic restaurants near the cathedral, which are also more expansive. There is also a big grocery about 50 meters from the front door. If you dare to walk three or four minutes more, you will find shops that are dedicated to traditional Jewish communities that inhabit this area. In those shops you will have the rare opportunity to taste authentic Jewish dishes which are mostly found just in private homely kitchens. The hotel itself is not very big, it cozy and friendly, and the lobby gives an atmosphere of some distant resort , far away from the city. The reception is always staffed, and the workers are efficient and helpful. Since of the central location, the hotel is mostly highly populated with tourists from all over the world, which gives the place very cute international temperature. The rooms are clean , the beds are comfortable, Everything works very wall, like hot water and air condition. About the breakfast, it above average in this country, and also better than most breakfasts you can find in the city. I must say, there is an underground parking which is very comfortable for anyone coming from out of town , and central train station is just 7 minutes walk or 3 or four minutes in taxi. It is a great place, I will return.

It is not about the property , but take in mind that the nearest ATM is located in the train station , so take this in mind if you think that you need cash.

The room was ample and with a large bathroom. All quite clean and very quiet at night. The reception staff was nice. The best feature is the location, really close to everything, next to the local park, plenty of public transport stops, and a very short walk from the station. The breakfast was ok, with a good coffee machine

The room was quite warm and we could not set the thermostat, it did not seem to work; but it wasn't a big deal. The breakfast was correct/average, could do with some more options but overall was ok for the price.

Astoria for me is like coming home . I have been there many times. They know me already . It is always nice to visit there. It is not a big hotel. It is cozy and homely. The staff is always friendly and helpful . in the lobby they have feeling of an Inn , somewhere in the nature or in the middle of the road while they really in the heart of the city. I always happy to visit there.

Hotel is in great location, the room was comfortable and quiet, the breakfast tasty, there was everything I needed. Staff was very nice and helpful

The furniture is quite old, the walls in the bathroom could also be painted as the paint is peeling. But these were only aesthetic impressions, not interfering with the stay for me

Very well run, efficient, professional. Room spacious; my room with courtyard view quiet; somewhat vintage decor but comfortable. Convenient to rail station, with interesting walk through the diamond center, though I did get tired of the longish walks to public transportation and would next time get something closer to a tram, but for the price, this is great value.

The location is great, 5-10 min walk to Antwerp Central. The night front desk person (who was from Brazil, if I recall correctly) was very nice. He helped me greatly because I arrived late after another hotel tried to scam me. I was very tired and he was so helpful! My room was very clean and had all the basics, even a little shoe cleaning sponge! I'd stay here again.

Very minor, but I was on Floor 1 (2nd floor for Americans) and in the morning traffic passes right below the windows and Belgian drivers can be impatient (lots of honking, but not NYC levels). So if you're a late/light-sleeper, I'd advise to either bring ear plugs or ask for rooms higher up or away from the street side.

the proximity to the station and shopping street, the staff was amazing. the room we were staying in had a broken handle to the window and they changed our room immediately. the breakfast bar was on par, we had many choices, the beds were comfortable and everything was so clean which I love and pay attention to due to my profession. it’s not a new building but they’re working with what they’ve got. it could use some paint but I wasn’t there to stare at the paint so…

Very close to the center. Check in and out were very fast and service extremely helpful. They made everything quack and easy

There was a lot of noise in the next room and the fact they have a door to connect rooms degrades the acoustic isolation. It was a bit of a pain as they were talking loudly for hours

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Close to the train station and Opera area. Short walk to a grocery and a few restaurants.

The neighborhood felt a little down at heels. The hotel felt a bit dated, but that was more about style than facilities.

Location was good to find the older/diamond districts of Antwerp. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Very dated facilities and some safety hazards within the room with the location of door stops etc. A/C barely worked. If it wasn't for the stand fan the room would have been horrible to spend any time in. For a 4 star hotel was disappointed compared to other 4 star hotels we stayed at.
