Great staff. The dorms are the cleanest I’ve seen and very confortable. The restaurant offers good food and drinks. They organise activites every day and every night for a good deal.

Almost impossible to go there and not to party. Not an issue at all but don’t expect a relaxing and meditative night after visiting the S21 prison and the killing Fields museums. The noise stops around midnight.

This was our first “hostel” experience as a 27-year-old married couple. Safe to say we were among the oldest guests there - tons of younger kids from Australia, the UK and Europe - so you can imagine the vibe is a bit more party oriented than we are at this point in our lives. If that’s what you’re looking for then this place is perfect for you, and you’ll make friends quick and have a great time. We enjoyed our stay; food was very good with a variety of options, staff was super welcoming and friendly (especially Rudy), and the location was perfect. They had tuktuk drivers on call out front and 24 hour security so we felt safe as well. Room stayed cool and shower pressure was great.

Just be aware that there are nightly events attended by kids who want to party, so it’ll be loud sometimes (sometimes until 3 am, quiet hours are more of a suggestion). If you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs. They could also use to update some of their room amenities but overall it was fine.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a week at Mad Monkey Phnom Penh and it was indeed an experience to remember. From the moment I arrived, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere enveloped me, making it immediately clear why this hostel has such a stellar reputation amongst travellers. A standout feature was the comfortable working space which made it incredibly easy for me to focus and get my tasks done, a rare find in many hostels. Yet, despite being productive, there was no shortage of leisure and fun. The cooking class that the staff recommended was a delightful dive into Cambodian cuisine, giving me not only new skills but also some unforgettable memories. The walking tour of the city was a perfect blend of history, culture, and local insights. It's an experience I'd recommend to anyone wanting a deeper understanding of Phnom Penh beyond the usual tourist spots. Speaking of staff, their friendly and accommodating nature truly made my stay memorable. Lin's cheerful demeanour always lit up, while Rax's insightful tips about local spots enriched my stay immensely. Tony, always attentive, ensured I had everything I needed, and Keoun, with his infectious laughter, made every interaction memorable. Overall, Mad Monkey Phnom Penh isn't just a place to sleep; it's an experience. A combination of top-notch amenities, activities that immerse you in the local culture, and a team that genuinely cares about your stay. I can't recommend it enough!

Clean and social hostel with a nice pool. Bed's are comfortable enough, the frame is just a bit wobbly. We especially appreciated Thy Thy at the adventure desk who was so helpful and fun, and Tin Tin who was our guide during the wonderful sunset tour the hostel offers 😊

Somehow there was always a problem with our order at the bar, either food wasn't available anymore or the order was taken wrong. By the third time, this got on our nerves, especially considering the food isn't the cheapest.. the hostel also offers bottle refills, which was almost never available.

The room and the bathroom were awesome. The staff was very friendly. The chill room is an incredible idea. You can easily take a nap while waiting for chekin time there, so 10/10 just for that.

It is clearly a party hostel. If that's not the mood you're in, you better find another place. I booked a 4 people bedroom (thinking about it precisely) and stayed a couple nights, so it was ok... but I cant imagine staying longer or being stuck in an 8 or 10 or 12 people bedroom with a bunch of kids who travel only to get wasted every night.

Everything !!! It was a good spot and close to anywhere . Really enjoyed the food but especially beer !! Met a lot of new friends and celebrated my birthday which the other last night of my stay . There are many program everyday . Went to the club twice and joined S21 & killing field Tour . The staff So so and another one (forgot the name) They are so sweet and helpful to us . Kind of sad to leave the MM . I will definitely choose to stay at MM when I come back here ! I was really enjoyed my stay at MM. Thank you sooooo much

I loved how easy it was to meet people and make friends here, I stayed here twice and both times it was the same, great vibe and good games, nights out and pub crawls! The food and drinks are good too and the family dinner was a nice touch. The staff, especially the tours and information desk were super nice and helpful! I booked to go to koh rong and it was very smooth. I even met a group here who I ended up traveling with for a month!

There are no curtains on the beds and the rooms were not the most comfortable, the smaller dorms were preferable to the bigger ones for sure. There is not much opportunity for peace and quiet here - although there are designated study and chill spaces, they are very near the common areas.

This party hostel is an awesome place to meet people and have fun. It is centraly located and most attractions can be reached within a 30 minutes walk. The S21 + Killing fields excursion is well worth it. IT's great to be able to chill next to the pool with a beer talking to all sorts of people.

I personnaly was not a fan of the organized pub crawl, but I do find that the shirts that they give out are dope. On my last night, there was this 1 guy that started harassing multiple women. Ater trying to ask him to stop, I ended up going to see the staff, at that moment he came up to me and started shoving me. The staff told me he would be removed from the property, but later that night when we came back from the bars he was still there. He had went out to the clubs to keep harassing women and continued back at the hostel. He was not removed. His behaviour was unacceptable. He made multiple women feel unconfortable and unsafe. He should have been kicked out and I hope that Mad Monkey will take time to reflect on this event to avoid these situations in the future.

The lounge, bar, dining area, pool and gardens had a great atmosphere with different people to chat with all the time. Staff were friendly and very helpful, particularly Simon and Titi. The variety of food let me choose something different every day and everything was great quality and very tasty. The range of dishes on buffet nights was excellent. Beer was cold and cocktails were strong! My room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The shower was always hot when wanted.

At the time I was there, the lift was broken and I had to walk up to the 4th floor. But I suppose it was good exercise 🤣

The location was pretty good to explore the city, close to central market and the royal palace. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Brandon.

They don’t have duvets, it was very cold for me in the dorm room, but other people were feeling hot so I couldn’t adjust the ac. And they don’t have elevators to go upstairs and you always have to ask for a help if you got a big suitcase. We ordered spaghetti and it was spoiled, tomatos in “smashed avo” were gone bad too, so disappointed by the food there.
