The great location. Really clean. In March really good heating and blankets. They allow us an early check in and leave the luggage after checking out. Sink and wardrobe inside the room. The staff was really kind and they give good recommendations. They have a microwave and electric kettle, cutlery OK. Big fridge and lockers. They recicle and that's great. The kitchen and utilities are in every floor. The mattress was good, the pillows not so much. For the prices it was a great service.

The building in general is old. Not a problem per se because it's advertised but you don't have elevator and to enter you have to go up by stairs one floor.

The very first thing we noticed was the frieliness and helpfulness of the staff! Jake and the other employees we met were just terrific! Secondly, there were laundry facilities, microwave, fridge, utensils which we did not expect but were very welcome. This is a historic property so we enjoyed that aspect also. This property was very centrally located to much of the city so that one could walk. We took the hop off hop on bus to other locations less accesible. If you needed a cab, they were right there and reasonable. Staff called the cab for us! I'd stay again!

It was hot for Vanncouver!!!! 85 the day we arrived so air conditioning would have been nice but the common areas were cooler!

We loved the classic posters, halloween decorations, and the community feel while we were there. There were places to visit with others, baskets for sharing or donating food, books, and morning coffee provided. The location was close to so many sightseeing areas, restaurants, stores, and buses. Most of the best places to visit downtown were in walking distance. The Cathedral Park across the street was an added bonus, with bike rentals right there. We felt safe and welcomed, and the hostel is exactly as advertised. We will definitely visit again.

This is not an accessible building for those with mobility issues. The stairs are steep, and there is no elevator. We would suggest not bringing large suitcases or packing to heavy. Expect bunk beds to creek as they are metal, but overall, we enjoyed our stay and met some kind people.

It was an excellent location and there was no shortage of places to eat nearby. I was worried that street parking would be difficult but we didn’t have any issues. Area felt very safe. The hostel was very clean and everyone working was nice. My only issue was another person staying was noisy at night.

The toilets were in tiny closets in the hallway. Hard to use without touching the wall and touching everything. There was no soap to wash your hands so make sure you bring some.

Perfect location, really close to central travel connections. We arrived late and left early and as such we couldn't check-in in person, but the staff were really cool about it and I could check in remotely afterwards. Room was fit for purpose and comfortable enough at this price point.

Room was quite hot, even with the heating off (in fairness we do run hot, anything over 21c is warm for us). Both the bed and floors were a little creaky, but but given general city noise you should have earplugs anyway if you're a sensitive sleeper.

Location is excellent being right near a major shopping area and food court . Also nearby are Gastown cafes . The room was clean and a comfy bed with sets of drawers to use. Good hot water and a useable cheap laundry a bonus . Despite being in the city it was quiet enough to relax in, a kitchenette and 2 sitting areas were great . AND the staff were genuinely friendly

We had a street light outside room 2 but eye masks solved that

We loved the location! It is kitty-corner to the cathedral on Richard street; the area is a bit rough, but it's dear to us because we were married at the cathedral. I loved the easy check-in; I loved the low cost.

Steep stairs to get inside. We were warned, so we were expecting them. Shared bathrooms are difficult, but again, we were warned. I just don't like these things, but I did a trade-off to have the convenient location and the low price.

Had my husband and 5 year old son stay too and the space worked really well for the 2 nights we stayed in Vancouver. It's nothing special but does the job and provided what we needed. Felt safe and had bathrooms nearby/a little kitchenette.

A few stairs to climb with luggage

It’s a hostel! Felt like a hostel! Cute energy and cheap, great location, cute nautical theme haha

Wi-Fi was bad, I was trying to download a map so I could use it for my bike tour to Astoria and my wife kept disconnecting. Might be nice to have a bedside light as well also.

Super mellow, the perfect place to land after a long haul flight. Flexible check in time and kind staff. Bed was very comfortable!

Would have been nice to have more of a kitchen and social area but not an issue for 3 nights with jet lag!
