The location was excellent! I was well within waling distance to the Vancouver Art Gallery, Gastown, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Harbourfront, and even the ferry to Granville Island. It was incredibly central and well-located. The bed was much more comfortable than I anticipated, making each night a lovely sleep. The room was clean and cute.

The bathrooms left a bit to be desired. They were simple facilities, and the showers often ran cold. It would be nice to get a reminder in the pre-arrival email to bring towels and flip-flops for the facilities. I wasn't aware there was a charge for towels in particular. It was a bit noisy, you could hear folks in the hallway and using the bathroom, but I still managed to sleep quite well as a light sleeper.

This was a surprisingly clean and safe hostel. We were looking for an alternative for 2 nights before our cruise. All of the other hotels are so expensive! We decided to give our first go at a hostel and we were not disappointed. Keep in mind, this is a place to sleep and shower. You will have a bed and small table in your room. The bathrooms are cleaned every day. You are supplied with one towel. We did not need anything else. The cooking area is a common, shared space with other tenants who showed respect and courtesy. I would stay here again.

The alley behind the hostel is a local hangout at night for the homeless. They urinate in between the dumpsters (or worse). There isn't much the hostel can do about this, I understand. Just know that this part of town gets a bit hairy at night.

We liked the location to Canada Place and the surprising comfort of our beds. The facilities were very clean. The staff mopped the floors every day and we were happy that the noise wasn't nearly as bad as reviewed. This is a great place to stay if you do not plan on being in your room a lot, but out exploring instead. It is a clean, safe, place to sleep before your cruise.

Our room directly faced the alley, which is a hotspot for homeless activity at night. We were not too happy with them peeing next to the dumpsters and jerking off in plain daylight. The cigarette butts outside could have been cleaned up. There is no elevator, so lugging 4 suitcases up two sets of stairs kind of winded us.

The location and price are great. Easy access to the city and transports. Commodities are good and great many food stalls nearby. Staffs at the reception are friendly and helpful. The kitchen is clean and has a decent supply of cutleries.

Bar below is loud and I didn't like the heavy smell of alcohol going in and out. Hope they had separate entrances. The wash basin is too small in the bathroom and as a result pool of water around with use by multiple people many times. I didn't like the cleaning staff making fun of residents leaving the bathroom wet as it's virtually impossible if you want to freshen up properly with that small wash basin. Only two power outlets in the room and as you more often than not will use an adapter, impossible to use by two people simultaneously. I stayed in the double-shared female room.

Excellent location and value for price. Staff excellent and helpful.

Booked a single room with bunkbed. Other guest (older African male) snored terribly loud whole night, and he (on more than one night) would answer his phone before 7am (whilst i was clearly sleeping) and contunued with 3 other calls for 2 hours! Didnt respect common courtesy or shared etiquette. Staff aware and offered to help but didnt see any worth in switching at short stay. Would HIGHLY recommend to hotel this room this for couples or friends only. I will not be booking it again as result.

Ideally located right in the centre of Vancouver, an easy walk to the Pacific Centre and Harbourfront amongst other areas. They also offer small rooms of only two people, so perfect for those who prefer a quieter room or a bit more privacy. Staff were very helpful even with a late check-in at almost midnight due to a delayed flight, and offered help with luggage too.

I was travelling for a work event, and this was one of the few affordable places to stay. I was lucky to book a private double room with a colleague, which was pleasantly spacious, and felt private and safe. The reviews I read beforehand warned that the hostel can be noisy - we were fortunate to be up the 'cocktail bar' end of the hostel, which was much quieter (didn't hear any noise from the pub downstairs), however, I could hear that noise when I went to the bathroom in that area, so rooms in that end of the building would be louder. There was still quite a bit of noise from the street, especially if the window was open (which it needed to be due to the heat); a fan in the room would help with this issue. The kitchen area was clean and well organised; I appreciated the multiple options for recycling etc. and storing food. Other guests were friendly and respectful, and the staff were super helpful. The venue was kept very clean. Bathrooms were great quality (more than what I would expect for a hostel). Location is great; it's within walking distance from several restaurants, shops and tourist locations - a short walk downhill to Canada place too. There are always staff around, and we always felt safe here.

Just the noise from the street, however, this is mostly unavoidable, and the price/location is worth it if you are travelling and need to attend events in the area.

Location.

My stay at this hostel had its ups and downs. The room was small and lacked furniture to organize clothing, limiting comfort. Additionally, the imprudent noise from other guests late into the night disturbed my rest, requiring me to express my discomfort. While the bathrooms were comfortable, the absence of amenities was disappointing. The lack of basic items such as shower gel, and toilet paper affected the overall quality of the stay. In summary, my experience was mixed, with areas for improvement in managing noise and providing amenities for guests.

I've stayed at a variety of hostels over the years so didn't expect any frills. This hostel is brilliantly located, staff friendly, secure, public areas cleaned regularly, bathrooms spacious. Kitchen & laundry were well appointed. My room was basic but clean, warm with a comfy bed. They have made the most of a funny old building.

The cost of accommodation in Vancouver is just ridiculous. This hostel included. It's a real deterrent to tourism.

The hostel is in the downtown, so everything was within walking distance. We came for a visa appointment and the consulate was in a less than 10 minute walk. The room was nice, just for me and my wife. The kitchen had everything you need. The staff was super nice and always ready to help!

Majority of time the garbage bins were full in the kitchen. The showers had a lot of hair. But in some way I can't accuse the cleaning staff as the real problem was dirty people!
